Chapter 1081: Chapter 1080 Jealousy (1)

In the evening, when Gu Shaoting returned ho, he found Shu Pan sitting in the living room, lost in thought.

“Panpan, what are you thinking about?” Gu Shaoting ca over.

“You’re back?” Shu Pan snapped back to reality.

“Yeah, I aim to be a model husband,” Gu Shaoting said, trying to please her.

Shu Pan smiled faintly and then said, “Huanhuan ca by today. It seems her mother-in-law doesn’t think very highly of her.”

Gu Shaoting frowned slightly, “What? Because of this incident?”

...

Shu Pan nodded, “Probably.”

“What did Wen Chi say? If he thinks the sa, then they might as well divorce,” said Gu Shaoting, annoyed. His sister was precious to him, and he wouldn’t tolerate anyone mistreating her.

Shu Pan rolled her eyes at him, “Obviously, Wen Chi adores Huanhuan. Their marriage is a happy one.”

“Then that’s good. I doubt he’d dare otherwise,” Gu Shaoting’s expression finally lightened a bit.

After that, Gu Shaoting went to play with the kids in their room.

Watching his retreating back, Shu Pan pursed her lips.

The next day, Shu Pan went to work as usual, while Gu Shaoting had yet to leave the house. He had an appointnt with Wang Dali to discuss a business deal. They had previously planned to build a five-star hotel, but the negotiations kept stalling over the issue of shares. The previous night, Wang Dali called again, asking to re-discuss the matter.

To be honest, Gu Shaoting was getting annoyed. Wang Dali was simply a scoundrel. They had initially agreed that Gu Shaoting would contribute the funds while Wang Dali would provide the land, with each holding a fifty percent stake.

But now Wang Dali was reneging, feeling that the land had beco more valuable and wanting a sixty percent share.

It was shaful. They were about to sign the contract, and he was pulling this stunt now. It was utterly unreasonable.

Gu Shaoting had already considered canceling the partnership, but Wang Dali adamantly disagreed.

Thinking of Wang Dali’s background, Gu Shaoting knew making an enemy of him would be asking for trouble.

So, he arranged to et Wang Dali again, choosing a tea house in the hopes of reaching a conclusion. However, if Wang Dali continued to be unreasonable, he definitely wouldn’t back down.

After getting up, he didn’t see Shu Pan and knew she had gone to work.

Shu Pan was thriving in her job, feeling a strong sense of accomplishnt.

With her work to focus on, Shu pan had completely forgotten about her own birthday.

But Gu Shaoting rembered it vividly. He planned to give her a surprise after work that evening.

In fact, up to that point, Gu Shaoting still didn’t know the company where Shu Pan worked. Even when he dropped her off for work, he only took her to the intersection, and then she would leave the car.

Initially, Shu Pan didn’t want him to know, so he also chose not to find out, respecting her privacy and giving her space.

This ti, in order to surprise her, he had asked the driver for the address of her workplace.

Gu Shaoting returned to his office and had Xia Xiaoqiao help him make a phone call to order a bunch of blue roses, “Blue Enchantress.”

Xia Xiaoqiao paused, a bit puzzled. She had been Mr. Gu’s secretary for a while now and had never t Mrs. Gu. She heard Mrs. Gu was very low-profile, and wondered if her relationship with Mr. Gu wasn’t good?

Mr. Gu rarely spoke of Mrs. Gu.

“Mr. Gu, are these for Mrs. Gu?” Xia Xiaoqiao asked casually. “Anyone who receives such a flower would surely be over the moon.”

Gu Shaoting played coy, saying lightly, “That’s a secret for now.”

Xia Xiaoqiao was sowhat confused, but she knew she still had to do her job, so she quietly left the office to make the flower order.

When the flowers arrived, Xia Xiaoqiao embraced the bouquet and deeply inhaled, pretending they were for herself.
