Chapter 1031: Chapter 1030: Father Shen Gets Angry
Shen Yue listened to her father’s increasingly heavy tone, her heart startled.
Why had her family beco like this? She had always been kept in the dark.
“Then Dad, why did you say you would give an auction item?” Shen Yue said sorrowfully.
“It was because you usually bid on items worth hundreds of thousands or millions, at most a few million. I didn’t want others to look down on you, so I promised you, but I didn’t expect you to be so bold…” Shen’s father, sitting in the master seat, sighed heavily.
“Dad, how did we end up like this? But…” Shen Yue was incredulous; everything had been fine, she was sure her father was deceiving her.
“Yue’er, I’m more worried about your marriage now. Go and see how Song Jie feels. You’ve been engaged for over a year; marry soon so that with Song Jie’s protection, you’ll have nothing to worry about, and I’ll be at ease.” Shen’s father said with worry.

Girls should be reserved. Wouldn’t it be too abrupt to ask now?
“What’s the harm in it? If we wait until our family is destitute, I guess Song Jie will call off the engagent.” The older one gets, the wiser and more thorough they are in thinking.
Shen Yue was shocked. Would all her efforts be in vain?
“You better think it over yourself; I’m too old to plan much for you both now,” Shen’s father said, his words tinged with sorrow, which weighed heavily on Shen Yue’s heart.
“Dad, I’ll find a chance to ntion it to him.” Shen Yue relented.
After all, this was about her life-long commitnt. Her father made sense. People these days were rather realistic, so she needed to be vigilant.
“Hmm, you’re thinking right,” Shen’s father sighed.
Just as he was about to speak again, the butler at the door bowed and announced, “Young Master is back.”
A tall and robust man in a dark suit strode in. His jacket was unbuttoned, and the top buttons of his white shirt were undone, giving him a rather ruffian look.
He walked in with vigorous steps, his narrow eyes sweeping over everyone, and slowly a wicked, boastful curve ford on his lips as he smiled and asked, “Hey, what’s the matter? What big event happened? Why is everyone here?”
“Prodigal son, always causing trouble.” Shen’s father’s anger, barely quelled, flared up again.
He spat out the words through clenched teeth, his gaze landing on Shen Hui’s rebellious face, his anger intensifying as he fiercely said, “You scoundrel, not knowing the gravity of things. Always causing troubles for everyone to clean up after.”
Shen Hui looked up, his hand at his side unconsciously clenched into a fist.
“Dad, it seems Shen Yue is the one who caused trouble this ti.” A hint of subtlety appeared in Shen Hui’s eyes.
“It’s all because of you that we are in this situation now, always ssing around with minor celebrities, not focusing on what’s important.” Rembering the reports from a few days ago, Shen’s father beca furious again.
With a gaze icy, devoid of any fatherly affection, while he was speaking, Shen’s father violently threw the tea cup in his hand, furious, “You better keep quiet recently, don’t cause any more trouble, or see how I deal with you.”
The scalding tea hit his chest, but Shen Hui did not dodge or evade. The wet tea leaves dripped down the suit, piteously affecting to see, yet everyone dared not make a sound.
Shen’s mother was terrified, “Hui’er, quickly apologize to your dad, and be more sensible in the future.”
