And when the surrounding orcs saw Bertel’s indifference, they instantly felt cold in their hearts. Could such a tribal leader really provide a good life for the tribe?
He’d probably always prioritize himself first.
...
"Energize, folks, we’re almost there!" The excitent was apparent in the Clan Leader of the Gray Bear Tribe’s voice.
The young orcs who were attending the major trade conference for the first ti and the orcs of the Watson Tribe were full of curiosity about their surroundings. But aside from feeling colder, they found nothing extraordinary.
"Which tribe do you orcs belong to?" Suddenly, a clear and echoing voice rang out through the snowy woods. The orcs ca to an abrupt halt and started vigilantly scanning their surroundings.
In front of them, a gigantic tree suddenly uprooted itself and, standing upright, walked over to the orcs.
ng Tai hurriedly stepped forward, and after bowing respectfully, he said, "I am ng Tai from the Monte Tribe, and the orcs behind are the orcs of the Eneru Mountain range who belong to my Monte Tribe."
"Oh?" The Divine Wood Tree asked, "Is your father not coming this ti?"
ng Tai smiled, "I had so business in the Eneru Mountain range, so I decided to co directly with them. My father should be here by tomorrow morning at the latest."
The Divine Wood Tree nodded, slowly shuffled back to its original place, re-rooted itself back into the ground, and even used its lower branches to cover the excavated soil: "Co in and find a place to set up your tents."
ng Tai gave a nod, leading the line of orcs forward.
Ji Nuan was so curious, she stared at the giant tree for a long ti. What a magical world, where a beast could transform into a human was unthinkable enough, but who knew even trees could walk on their own and even nurture their own soil. Truly impressive.
Sensing Ji Nuan’s gaze, the tree man’s crown turned towards her, perfectly still, as if it was looking back at her.
Feeling bashful, Ji Nuan briefly smiled, nodded, and hurriedly turned her head away. Seed like her attempt to spy had been caught.
"We might as well set up our tents here. We do that every year, no need to break the habit," said ng Tai.
Dashi and Shi Jie nodded in agreent: "Agreed."
ng Tai then glanced at Chief Ge Xing, "The Watson Tribe’s tents..."
would be set up next to our Monte Tribe...
Before ng Tai could finish, Dashi and Shi Jie grabbed Ge Xing’s arms, "The Watson Tribe’s tent should be set up between our two tribes. This way, we can look after each other easier. Right?"
Receiving the knowing glances from the two elderly n, Ge Xing happily nodded, "Yes, yes, how about setting up between Dashi and the Gray Bear tribes? It’s our first ti here, and our tribe mbers could be a little shy facing unfamiliar orc settings."
Shy...
ng Tai twitched the corners of his mouth, "Shy, huh! Ha...ha ha..."
Without giving Chief Ge Xing, who had just made up this earsplitting excuse, any further attention, he said, "Everyone hurry up and set up your tents and get so rest. We’ll be busy tomorrow."
He turned and went over to assist his tribe mbers.
Dashi poked Ge Xing’s arm and scoffed, "You old guy will say just about anything! Shy, my ass. You gave goosebumps."
Shi Jie rubbed his arm and went to help set up the tents, showing evident disdain.
Ge Xing snorted, "What’s the big deal? I just ran my mouth a bit, so what!"
