In the cave of the Gray Bear Tribal Chief, three orcs were sitting around the central fire pit. The Clan Leader of the Grey Bears was sharing tender raw at from a large leaf with two others, "Shi Jie, Teng Kui, try this. This is the elk our tribe hunted yesterday. The at is very tender, much tastier than frozen at in winter."
The eyes of the two leaders brightened as they took the clean at and began tearing it apart.
While tearing and munching on the tender piece of at, Teng Kui skeptically looked at the Chief Bear, "Position Bear, given the current shortage of food, why did you call us over here to eat at?"
Shi Jie, his mouth full of at and unable to talk, just nodded in agreent.
The Grey Bear tore off another chunk of at and stuffed it into his mouth, muttering through his food, "Wait for Sangguo, I’ll explain when everyone’s here."
Shi Jie and Teng Kui exchanged glances. Swiftly, Teng Kui cramd the rest of the at in his hand into his mouth, "You even called that female from the Guo Tribe?"
The Chief Bear nodded, "It concerns all our tribes, so everyone should be aware."
Teng Kui scoffed, "What’s the point of calling that old woman, she’s of no use, besides..."
His words were interrupted by a feminine voice sounding coy than ever, "Teng Kui, you old man, always talking bad about when I’m not around!"
Teng Kui’s face stiffened. How was this old woman always so tily? Was she listening outside all along?
He laughed awkwardly, "How could that be? I was just saying, haha, just a joke!"
He then turned to Chief Bear and Shi Jie, "Right? We’re just joking around!"
Usually, Chief Bear would play along and let them squabble, but at this point, there were important issues to discuss.
The guard orc was signaled, so he laid a beast skin pad on the other side of the fire, and then gave Sangguo a piece of tender elk at. The Chief Bear then straightened his face and proclaid, "I’ve called everyone here today for a very important matter concerning our tribes’ survival."
At his serious expression, no one thought about at anymore and sat up straight, "What’s the matter?" They were wondering, how could the survival of the tribes be at stake?
The Chief Bear stated, "Our orc hunters found that all the ga in the forest has disappeared today, even the birds are nowhere to be found. I asked the Shaman, and he said it only happened before during earthquakes and great beast surges."
Shi Jie felt like he was sitting on a bed of nails; their Dashi Tribe is located on Stone Mountain, and it would be in danger if an earthquake occurred, "Is it an earthquake?"
The Chief Bear shook his head, "No, these few days we found the newly migrated Watson Tribe in the plains. According to Ge Xing, their tribe moved to avoid the increasingly large beast group, so the upper regions of the forest will soon be occupied by beasts from the Eneru Mountain!"
"What?"
"When did this happen?"
"Why is this happening?"
The three tribal chiefs instantly let out inquiries full of extre shock.
Chief Bear said, "The last beast surge happened due to the lengthening of the rainy season causing a lack of ga for the beasts, which then heavily attacked the orc tribes. Do you really believe the long winter this ti won’t have any effects?"
The faces of the three orcs instantly turned ghastly pale. The beast surge was a nightmare to them, the orcs living in the Eneru Forest.
