"Oh, so that’s how it is." Ji Nuan looked at Hasa and said, "I have so ropes woven from tree vines, they’re very long. When the ti cos, I can lend them to your tribe. Each Hunting Squad can bring a roll of rope during the hunt. If an Orc falls into quicksand, you can use the rope to pull them out."
Hasa and the old Shaman’s eyes lit up. After exchanging a glance, both burst into hearty laughter. "Shaman Ji Nuan truly is the lucky star of our Sahara Tribe."
"Lucky star? If it weren’t for your tribe taking us in, I might still be stuck in so remote corner freezing in the cold wind."
With that said, Ji Nuan wasted no ti and waved her hand imdiately. "Alright, let’s go. I’ll head back now and grab a few ropes for you. Chief Hasa, it would be good for you to set out early and return sooner."
Xiu Yan stood up, his long legs covered in cotton trousers moving steadily as he headed toward their cave.
Behind him followed the old Shaman, Harry, and Hasa.
Ji Nuan led them straight to the firewood storage cave.
Seeing the pile of firewood that filled the entire cave, the few Orcs were stunned. "Shaman Ji Nuan actually collected so much firewood?"
Ji Nuan turned her head and smiled. "I exchanged food with the surrounding small tribes to collect all this. There’s very little firewood in the oasis, storing these cost quite a bit of food."
Hasa snorted coldly. "Fallen stuff from the trees, and they dared use this to trade food with the Shaman? Those small tribes truly need so discipline."
Seeing his serious expression, clearly angry, even the old Shaman’s face grew grim.
Ji Nuan finally realized the difference in their perspectives and quickly adjusted her tone, fearing this matter might bring trouble to the small tribes.
She promptly set her expression straight. "You can’t say that. Preparing for the cold season is a matter that concerns the life of every Orc. Whether it’s a Shaman or an ordinary Orc, they are all children of Lord Beast God.
I took up their ti for collecting food and asked them to gather firewood for . If I don’t compensate them with equivalent food, even Lord Beast God would be unhappy. I’m sure he wants his envoy to be one who cherishes his children."
Ji Nuan’s grand statent left the surrounding Orcs montarily stunned. But upon reconsidering, what she said made perfect sense.
Indeed, Lord Beast God protects every creature who reveres him, and he certainly wouldn’t want to see any of the Orcs under his care die from lack of food.
In an instant, the way they looked at Ji Nuan changed. A Shaman capable of listening to Lord Beast God’s will, as well as understanding and executing it, was undoubtedly an existence not to be trifled with.
One by one, their expressions toward Ji Nuan grew increasingly respectful.
"By the way, Chief Hasa, how many Hunting Teams will be sent out for the hunt?"
Hasa replied without hesitation, "Five Hunting Teams."
As the Clan Leader, Hasa was well-acquainted with every detail of the tribe’s affairs.
Xiu Yan extended his long arms and picked up five rolls of rope from the cave wall. Each rope was as thick as Ji Nuan’s forearm.
Seeing those familiar ropes, Harry felt a faint pain in his palms.
Back in the desert, they had been repeatedly instructed by Ji Nuan to twist those ropes. The fiery sensation in their palms after twisting the ropes still lingered painfully in Harry’s mory.
The devilish Shaman Ji Nuan had certainly not shied away from exploiting their labor during those days.
