From that point on, things beca too hectic, everyone was busy trying to save themselves with all the numbers and only a few had ti to help others.

In all this while, Lucas had noticed sothing. The undead were sensitive to sounds and went toward anyone that made the most of it. It gave him and the others chance to protect the ones with no defenses and fighting skills.

Whenever a bird undead would go further from him toward the ones that were in a small group in the back, he just shout and it always made the undead fly toward him.

After killing twenty thirty on his own, Lucas was very tired, they had been at it for hours and he could only worry for the others.

The mont he tried to help one of them was the one ti that he was the most endangered person and it happened to the others too who tried to help.

Since the birds started coming out and had no calm, it had been four hours give or take.

Finally, the birds were getting lesser and lesser to the point that only a few were left.

THUD

John fell on his knees with a thud splashing so water around, his breathing was very erratic. Everyone had the sa situation and the people who had it much worse were Lucas and Jimmy that kept slashing and slashing non-stop for hours.

They both knew that if they stopped then the chances of making everyone survive would go a lot down.

When only five birds were left and Lucas could not see any co out of the hole.

He just toughened his will and tried to ignore the pain and tiredness in his muscles.

If people thought that he was weak then they didn't know about him much. Lucas was a very sheltered child, to the point that he had no reason to even go to school but he chose to do so anyway.

He ca a long way from that person of the past that he sotis even loathed and the desire to improve further, to get strong was still in abundance.

With his body aching and his mind fatigued, Lucas pushed himself forward, driven by a determination to protect those around him.

The remaining five birds circled overhead, their sharp, undead eyes fixed on the vulnerable survivors. Lucas could feel their hunger and desperation, their relentless desire to attack.

He didn't know why these dumb bastards hadn't attacked since they ca out and glided around in the air looking at all with dead eyes.

Lucas was concerned but still relieved to get so ti to make his heavy breathing calm down.

As Lucas mustered his strength for one final effort, he glanced at the people around him. Their faces were etched with exhaustion and fear, yet there was a glimr of hope in their eyes.

They had witnessed Lucas's unwavering bravery throughout the ordeal, and it had inspired them to keep fighting but they had already done enough.

Lucas was only up because of his will but the others which surprisingly even included John were out of breath which also had to do because of the lack of mana.

Taking a deep breath, Lucas let out a piercing shout, directing the attention of the remaining birds toward himself. They swooped down, their wings flapping wildly as they closed in on their target. Lucas braced himself, gripping his weapon tightly, ready to face the onslaught.

He swung his weapon with precision and skill, each strike calculated to take down the undead birds swiftly. His movents were fueled by adrenaline and a sheer determination to keep his companions safe.

Despite his exhaustion, Lucas fought with a ferocity that surprised even himself.

One by one, the birds fell to the ground, their lifeless bodies joining the others across the battlefield. As the last bird let out a piercing screech, Lucas's muscles finally gave way, and he collapsed to the ground, panting heavily.

Jimmy who had no energy to even walk rushed to his side, his expressions a mix of gratitude and concern. They had witnessed Lucas's unwavering courage, and they knew that his actions had saved many.

Lucas didn't care for the ssages, nor the people around him. He was around wet flesh that made his hair, back, and legs slimy from one side. He was laying down for the first ti on the fleshy ground and the disgusted emotion that he seed he would get never flowed out.

The flesh may have looked creepy and disgusting but the coolness, the fluffiness was as good as a bed. Lucas closed his eyes in relief as he knew the last bird was down.

He felt a tug coming from his hand but his muscles had gone numb half an hour ago already.

Minutes turned to an hour when he finally opened his eyes, his clothes were tattered and dirty with all the fights he had gone through from the first day.

Lucas moved his fingers and was relieved to see that his muscles didn't hurt at all knowing that Ella had done her wonders again.

He got up and finally realized that he was sitting on a hard surface unlike the fleshy floor where he just sunk in.

'It isn't sothing I will try again but man that felt comforatble...' Lucas though which made a small smile form on his face.

"What are ya thinking of? Your girlfriend?" A teasing voice fell in his ear which made lucas grin, he looked at him after getting up and could see that everyone was near and looking at him.

"We finally did it Lucas, only one more left..." John said, a mild smile on his face.

Lucas started rembering things and opened the texts again that just ca after realizing that things were not finished.

[All the 3rd type of undead creatures- Aerial Undead, are dead out of the 4.]

[The next type will attack in 4 hours]

"That ssage ca an hour ago so you still have ti." Jimmy said as he knew why Lucas was looking staright in daze. His gaze was at Mike but not at the sa ti which mostly gave it away.

Lucas's mind snapped back to reality as he processed the ssage. The relief of defeating the aerial undeads was quickly overshadowed by the knowledge that another wave of creatures would soon descend upon them. They had no ti to rest or celebrate their victory.

He looked at his comrades, their weariness evident on their faces. They all looked alright and Lucas felt a surge of pride seeing them safe. But he knew they couldn't afford to let their guard down. There was still one more type of undead to face, and they had to prepare.

"Is everyone okay?" He asked with a mix of concern and fear.

"Gosh, still worrying about us? You should have seen what happened to you after you fell unconcious." Haley said while giving Lucas a pity gaze that he didn't like.

"Hm? What happened?" Lucas asked with a frown.

"You were very dirty with thay gooey wetness on the ground, thank Sandra for cleaning you up... even your hair was a ss. And Ella who gave her all her healing to you."

Lucas lookued down at his clothes and saw that they were wet. He couldn't feel it as he had been sleeping in wet clothes for an hour now that made his body get used to it while he was unconcious.

"Thank you, Sandra." Lucas said, an hoest smile on his face that made Sandra blush hard. She just nodded and went behind Jimmy and hid making Lucas chuckle.

"Thank you, Aunt Ella." Lucas spoke that got him the smaae old warm smile which he liked a lot.

But the worry talk had to be over as the tir was still going on.

With determination shining in his eyes, Lucas spoke up, his voice firm and serious again, "We can't afford to waste a single mont. We need to group up, gather our strength, and co up with a plan to face the next wave. We've co this far, and we won't let it be in vain."

No one said anything but nod, lucas made eye contact with John who just showed him a thumbs up making him know that he was doing alright.

The next 10 minutes, everyone tried making a plan that would be better than the ones of the past. Lucas's simple formations were good but it had to be disbanded just because the undead could fly.

But first thing that everyone had an unanymous decision about was to sleep in groups for an hour each. They may have been fixed physically by Ella with her healing but everyone's ntal health was in shambles.

Haley gave them a surprise again taking out so more log seaters making Lucas wonder why she hadn't taken them out when they were outside the dungeon making conversation.

But when a batch was sleeping soundly, a person was at the side looking at its arm with calm eyes. The hand had a small scratch that was so inches long and black small tendrils stretched from the scratch inwardly.

Without waiting, the person covered his sleeves back at the scratch and went in the group like nothing had happened.
