A few hours later, the shelter was filled with these smoked at pieces taking all the space that was there for sleep.
John after trying the at piece told everyone to get a bite too without any emotional change.
When Lucas took a small bite, the at lted inside his mouth, the smoky taste made him feel alive and awake.
It was a bit strong but was better than eating bland or even raw at.

John had contacted one of his cousins that he talked a lot with, he did not have any parents, unlike Ella who had a father. After talking to him, she ca to know that he was safe with so people.
A thing that Ella told everyone made Lucas bewildered, apparently, Ella's father had a lot of problems which started from high blood pressure and high sugar to even heart disease.
But after reaching here, Ella couldn't believe him at first but he told her that he was fine and did not suffer from anything anymore, not even the knee pain. This made Lucas wonder as to how Uncle John and Aunt Ella also had health issues but they hadn't co up with it till now.
In conclusion, John contacted his cousin who was a good woodworker back in their ho. All the furniture in John's house was made by him. After talking with the cousin for a while, John comnced their first proper trade.

His cousin had made so wooden bowls out of one of the thin but also thicker trees than the ones found near the shelter.
John took two of the bowls he made and gave six pieces of the smoky at to his cousin who was with his family of one kid and wife.
Their first trade was successful and Lucas took hold of the two bowls that were in John's hands. They were crude but at least had the space to hold water inside but not more than 50 ml.
Everyone inspected the bowls with satisfaction thinking that they now were going down that path of keeping hygiene.
But this all had to be taken care of later because Lucas was now going to complete a very basic yet important task that would change each and every one's life in the shelter.
Lucas had 15 glowing beads in his hand which gave him a sense of pride, they were the mana stones that they collected all this ti.
Lucas could have gotten more but they found a piece of very useful information that the system did not tell them clearly.
Not all the creatures held a mana stone in them, Lucas found out about it when he couldn't find a mana stone in the skull of one of the Coyates. He checked the whole body but there was none, which made him disappointed.
But it did not stop with one, there was another and then another corpse that did not contain a mana stone. Lucas was scared that even now, he won't be able to get the certain specific amount of mana stones that he needed dearly.
At last, they ca to the conclusion that not all had the mana stones in them but Lucas didn't care as he had the mana stones he needed in his hands. Many were covered in blood that had dried with ti but it still slowed white.
"Are you all ready?" Lucas asked with a gulp, he was at a point where his skill was going to upgrade.
'I have looked forward to it for a long ti, hope it is fruitful...' This was what he could only think about as his heartbeat sounded on his forehead.
"Yeah... just do it," John said with seriousness and stayed silent like the others.
Lucas went to the small dot inside the shelter with the others and clicked on the blue dot. All the details about the shelter ca in front of him.
Lucas looked at the number of mana stones which was now 10/10. He was very excited until he found one fault.
"... We forgot to make those fiber ropes..."
Sean groaned followed by Ella, even John sighed deeply, the only person who chuckled was Sarah.
Lucas went outside after taking note that five fiber ropes were missing because they used them while making the makeshift lid.
It took him 10 minutes to complete the task, he did not care about the quality of the fiber he used and just made them.
When he was done and ca into the shelter's territory. The mont his feet fell on the shelter's territory. Texts popped up in front of him.

The sa ssage ca in front of him that he got at the ti he placed his shelter the first day. It was a historical mont for him.
Lucas took a deep breath, his eyes were calm and a smile broke out on his face.
He clicked on the yes and waited for the shelter to start glowing until realization hit him. But the troubles he thought will co up the next second were already talked care of by the shelter.

A chill ran through his spine when Lucas read the 'untily death' part. The system did not tell him that they could get hurt but ca to downright death.
"Everyone, the shelter upgrade will start quickly, get out and co here," Lucas shouted and everyone adhered to him that instant.
Lucas with the others got out of the defenses until he found sothing unusual in the forest. He could see the sa layout that he saw while making the shelter at first only this ti, it did not stop at the layout but extended.
Lucas had many questions that were quite important but for now, he led everyone out of the layout and clicked on the 'Yes' again.
Unsurprising for Lucas but dumbfoundedness for the others, a white light shone on the shelter that seed to originate from it.
Everyone stepped back after looking at the light which made them feel as if they were looking at the sun.
CREAK CREAK THUMP BAM THUMP!
Sounds of different kinds ca from the shelter which was very loud but they couldn't do anything about it.
"It's loud!" Sean spoke with his hands on his ears.
"No shit, Sherlock."
Lucas didn't say anything, he prayed for them to not gain the attention of any powerful creature till they upgrade it.
Lucas had a lot of questions too, the first being about the resources that were not gathered inside the layout of the shelter. If they were going to be in the layout anyway, then why didn't they show in the progress bar of the resources he had to collect for the upgrade?
But these questions were baseless and Lucas knew there was no one to give him any proper answer or explanation.
As the loud noises emanated from the shelter, everyone exchanged bewildered glances. The unexpected commotion filled them with a mix of excitent and apprehension. Lucas, though curious about the extended layout and the sudden upgrade process, understood that finding answers to his questions might not be possible.
It took the shelter five minutes till all the noises were gone and everything was silent but the light still shone brightly.
The group watched as the white light slowly dissipated, revealing the transford shelter. It stood before them, visibly enhanced and fortified.
The shelter was now bigger than before with wooden logs that looked furnished and polished, there was a decorative grey polished stone surface at the start of the shelter which went up to 3 feet.
The most amazing thing about the shelter was that there was now a gate in the first empty space.
The window part had beco bigger but there was still no window in it.
Lucas couldn't help but feel how envious the others would beco after they see such a living condition in a place like this.
The shelter had elongated in width, there were extra ters in it and the area was also bigger than before.
The defense was still the sa even after pushing it further by the shelter upgrade magically, the entry of the defense had elongated further making the whole point of the makeshift defense worthless.
"Wow..." Sarah blurted out with her mouth agape. The sa but different types of expression were given by every group mber.
"It's amazing," Ella exclaid, her eyes wide with wonder. "I can't believe how much it has changed!"
It was the point where everyone finally decided to enter the defenses, the mont Lucas set foot in the shelter's newfound territory. Texts popped in front of him in seconds.
