Haley's cooking skill could give buffs and after the taste testing, it was also discovered that each serving she makes give a random buff. Read the latest on empire

"I have no control over the buffs but every ti a smoked at is ready, a point or two from my mana gets taken on its own," Haley stated with eyes focused on the next serving that was going to go in the storage for later.

Lucas nodded in understanding, recognizing the significance of receiving buffs while eating. The fact that there might be occasional hiccups or randomness along the way was a minor concern when the rewarding after-effects outweighed any potential worries.

They ate to their heart's content as the buff was not the only good thing, even the taste was better than anything they had eaten in this world.

"Do you see the problem of being vegetarian now? You can't even eat what you made." Lucas said with a chuckle. Haley, Sandra, and Mike had a grumpy expressions.

Haley had no problem in making at, she had done it before but eating it was a different thing, it was not from morals or religious reasons but a choice they had made by tasting it for the first ti and let's just say it didn't go too well.

When the brunch was over, Lucas finally set his eyes on the newly made equipnt. He was surprised that John's cousin could make it this fast but seeing its quality, Lucas had expected it to be like this.

With no material other than wood at their expense, the cauldron could have only been made with wood when it's more effective when made with thick tal.

Lucas did not complain and after thanking him, he took the crude cauldron with him.

It had a half inch diater opening with a good area inside to store water and other liquids. Lucas could feel the thickness and found it would be good enough for now.

He went to the side of the shelter where a lot of space was present. After the shelter upgrade, there was no grass on the shelter's ground but with ti. The grass had started to grow an inch or two.

"Ugh, now where will I find a grass-cutting machine?" Lucas grumbled over the thought that they would have to pluck all the grass each ti it grew as using tools that they had like a sword could only disrespect the equipnt's actual use.

He placed the cauldron down and made a small camp with twigs and dried leaves until another realization hit him that he needed a stand that could hold the cauldron above the fire.

"Fuck, I can't ask for one more thing right now. Damnit..." Lucas looked around at the large area with a frown. He really needed to start the fire but it had to be above the fire or else the chance of the cauldron burning could be high.

The cauldron was made of fire and in normal circumstances, it would get fired in a few minutes but looking at the thickness of its body. Lucas had the confidence that it could persist.

He went to the others to have a way of making a stand for the cauldron.

"This thing is pretty heavy, how will you keep it on so random wooden stand?" Mike asked with the cauldron in his hand. The cauldron was made from a huge chunk of a tree and it weighed around 12 kgs.

"That's why I have co to get advice here, I need to start using my skill, or else it will beco impossible for to level it up."

"I know a thod of making a fire that could get you the sa result but it will take so ti to make," John stated, his hands moving around the cauldron and taking out small chips that had co out in the process of making.

The cauldron was very crudely made but it could do the job for Lucas and that was the only reason why he had not thrown it at that cousin's face. He knew that it was hard to make stuff with no equipnt and getting this much quality was enough.

The cauldron's quality was so bad that it didn't even have any description from the system making Lucas sure that it was below the extrely common grade.

"I have so ti so please do sothing, Uncle John," Lucas said with desperate eyes. Getting the proper equipnt was the most basic yet important thing in any kind of production no matter the scale or size.

John went to the location where the cauldron was to set and blaze but soon he shook his head in dismissal.

"You can't make a Dakota fire pocket here. It's too risky." He said and moved to the next location which was at one of the four corners of the shelter's defense. Two of the corners could be looked at from the shelter's entrance while the other two were located at the back.

"This is it." John said with a blunt spear in his hand.

TACK! TACK!

He started to slam the blunt stick at the ground in order to make a hole.

In around 10 minutes of continuous work by John and Lucas, the small 2 feet deep pit was ready.

"Now cos the tricky part that is essential for your work."

John moved his hand on the ground and picked a small leaf in his hand. He tossed it right at the pit but the leaf never reached the hole as it moved from the weak winds.

"My wind manipulation makes pretty sensitive to the winds. I am confident that most of the ti, the winds flow from west to east here. Been observing for a few days and I just confird it with this leaf."

"So?"

Lucas was confused as to what John was doing, he could keep the cauldron above the small pit after igniting the dry twigs inside it but the fire will still exhaust because of no airflow.

This was where John's actual plan started.
