Leon turned to look at Jake. "Yeah, what is it?" he asked.

"Before I entered the test, Seer and Rion told how the tests had made many people suffer Mana madness, yet I didn’t feel anything that could threaten my sanity or anything like that," Jake said.

Leon paused when he heard that. He stared at Jake for a few seconds and then walked closer to him.

"What you are telling is that inside the test, you didn’t feel any pull on your Mana? It didn’t feel like sothing was trying to disrupt your flow?" he asked. Seer and Rion also paid attention, wanting to hear what Jake would say.

"There was nothing. It just felt like a normal real world to ," Jake replied.

"Oh my word," Leon exclaid. He scratched his head a bit harder, looked at Seer with eyes that said are you hearing this? and then looked back at Jake.

"Listen to , kid. You see all these runes inside this do? You know what they are for?" he asked.

"To change the place—she makes it look like a different place for the exam?" Jake replied.

"You really don’t know," Leon said. He turned and looked at Seer. "Did you really not tell him what the test was?" Leon asked.

"It slipped my mind, couldn’t be helped," she replied, waving her hands.

"You bloody-ass Chosen," Leon muttered before looking at Jake again.

"You wouldn’t need this much logic of runes to create a fake world, Jake. You also wouldn’t need an entire kingdom-wide connection for that.

The test isn’t just held here inside this do, but rather, it is held inside temporary separate dinsions created by the test," he said. He walked to the center of the do and raised his hands.

"This whole do—all of it—it’s created to tap into the power of the core at Tempest, and also the several millions of blueprints for temporary dinsions that it has. It pulls what it needs and uses it for the test.

So for the duration that you are inside the test, you are not in the do, but you have been transported to real temporary dinsions.

Why do you think the pain you feel when attacked inside also stays as you return? That’s because it was a dinsion—a real one," he said, then pointed at Jake.

"You were just in two of the worst types of dinsions to be in—ones filled with extre conditions. You should have suffered more.

Let explain. When you get into another dinsion, you have shifted planes—sothing that hampers the natural order of things.

Even if that dinsion is heavily tied to this one, it is still a separate dinsion, and as such, order will try to set you back in place, but it can’t because you are heavily grounded by the structure of the do.

But even if you can’t be set back, the do can’t stop the chaos that lurks inside those dinsions, trying to get into you and disrupt your Mana.

The longer you stay, the more it works. Many people succumb to it, and that’s what turns into Mana madness—their Mana goes haywire," Leon explained.

Jake finally understood what the real issue was here and why Leon was shocked when he said he had not felt anything. But with these answers he got, more questions ca into his mind.

"If the do is this dangerous, why is it used to test?" Jake asked.

"That’s the way it has been for ages now, and despite the fact that it has caused many to fall from the path, it has also made many into great warriors," Leon explained. He yawned again and walked toward Jake.

He placed his hand on Jake’s shoulder. "I believe that the fact that you couldn’t feel anything from the different dinsions has sothing to do with why the test did what it did to you.

I’m sure you have your secrets that you won’t spill, so I won’t try to force you to tell anything. But I advise that you head to Tempest whenever you can and try to get answers," Leon said. He let go of Jake and stretched his body.

"You’ve gotten your card and that’s all. I’ll be heading to my office to sleep now; my eyes can barely keep themselves open," he said and headed for the door. Everyone else followed him out of the do, through the hallway, and into the guild again.

"Goodbye for now," Leon said and headed for the stairs. They watched him walk until he was up the stairs and gone.

"Alright, a lot has happened today, but with all that behind us, we should gather so supplies. We will be leaving this town, and we probably won’t be back for a while, Jake," Seer said.

"Huh? We won’t be back?" he asked.

"Yeah. Rushed journeys yield the least results. We need to take our ti and explore properly. Rion and I have already mapped out the first locations that we will go to. I’ll show you later," she said.

"Alright then, that’s fine. Where do we et? I’ll head into the town and gather so resources," Jake said.

"No need for that. Let’s go to my warehouse. I’m sure whatever you need will be there," she said and started walking away.

"You have a warehouse?" Jake asked.

"Yhup. I’ve been running different businesses in Lurg for quite a while," she responded. She pushed open the doors. The blazing sun greeted them as soon as they walked out, burning their skin with its harsh rays.

She walked into the street and continued leading the way. Jake held Ophelia’s hand as they walked. Rion also walked behind him, while Crypt was out back.

After a few minutes of silence, Jake decided to break it. "The Hundred Trials is sothing that spans the whole world and not just this kingdom, right?" he asked.

"Pretty much. That’s one thing that makes it terrifying—more than it already is. Knowing that you face enemies you’ve never t who will kill you on the spot... it’s a lot to think about," Rion said.
