10:00 AM, Federal Yellowstone Park, on a certain highway.
"Soone is looking for ?"
Upon hearing Reesi’s words through the phone, Luo An’s eyebrows rose as he asked:
"Who is it?"
Reesi on the other end didn’t respond, instead passing the phone directly to soone else. A middle-aged man’s voice ca through, laughing:
"Hello, Group Leader Greenwood, my na is Cabot, from a toy company in Wyoming."
"Hello, Mr. Cabot."
Luo An casually greeted him and then asked, slightly puzzled:
"What is the matter that you are seeking for?"
"The matter isn’t convenient to discuss in detail over the phone."
Cabot chuckled over the phone and asked:
"May I know where Group Leader Greenwood is currently located? Can we et in person?"
Since he had to wait for Reesi anyway, Luo An did not refuse and said:
"Yes, I will be at an exit in the southern part of Yellowstone Park shortly."
"Alright, we’ll be there soon."
Cabot happily agreed over the phone and hung up promptly. Chenier, seated in the back, expressed so confusion:
"What does this person want with you?"
"I don’t know."
Luo An placed his phone in his pocket, and Mona on the passenger seat once again opened her laptop. After tapping on the keyboard for a mont, she looked up and said:
"I’ve checked Mr. Cabot’s identity. He indeed cos from that toy company in Wyoming and is the secretary to the president of that toy company."
Approaching the exit, Luo An drove the SUV at a reduced speed and asked:
"Has there been any news about that toy company recently?"
"No."
Mona tapped the computer’s keyboard a few tis and then spread her hands out:
"The toy company’s business operations are normal, their financial status is healthy, and there hasn’t been any unsettling news coming from inside the company."
Luo An slowly parked the SUV in a parking spot and waved his hand, saying:
"We’ll know what’s the matter when we et in a bit."
"Fair enough."
Mona and Chenier did not ask further and together they left the car and walked toward a restroom not far away. Luo An had not been waiting long in the car when a Porsche sedan drove from another direction toward them.
The Porsche slowly pulled up not far from the SUV, with Reesi stepping out from the back seat first, followed by a door opening on the passenger side. A white man in his thirties, dressed in a suit and wearing black glasses, got out with Reesi and walked toward the SUV.
"Hello, Group Leader Greenwood."
Luo An got out of the car and the other party smiled and reached out his hand for a shake. After a brief exchange of pleasantries, they walked to a secluded corner nearby.
Luo An glanced at Reesi, Mona, and the others grouped together not far away, and asked directly:
"Mr. Cabot, what do you need from ?"
Seeing Luo An’s straightforward approach, Cabot didn’t waste any words. He took out two photos from his pocket and handed them to Luo An, explaining:
"It’s like this, Group Leader Greenwood, I’d like to ask for your help to catch these two people."
The two photos passed over by Cabot coincidentally showed a man and a woman. Luo An took them, squinting his eyes, and asked:
"These two, they seem to be murder fugitives currently being pursued by the police?"
"That’s right, it’s them."
Cabot nodded emphatically, explaining:
"The couple killed our company president’s granddaughter who had just been born not long ago."
Cabot conveyed that the granddaughter of his superior, the toy company’s president, had not been out of the hospital for long before she was murdered and lost her life.
The local police quickly investigated, and the culprits were soon identified as the man and woman, initiating a manhunt for the pair.
Unexpectedly, the couple had strong anti-tracking abilities, managing to evade the local police several tis and escaping deep into Yellowstone Park.
The toy company president, upon hearing the news, was exceedingly angry and, while cursing the police’s incompetence, also offered a reward through several detective agencies, requesting Secretary Cabot personally to lead a team to participate in the capture.
Cabot led his team into Yellowstone Park and still ca up empty-handed. Just by chance, early this morning he heard from two police agencies that Luo An and his party were camping here for a vacation. Cabot had previously heard of Luo An’s reputation as the best team leader of the special investigation team at the FBI Washington Headquarters and decided to seek his help imdiately.
After a brief explanation, Cabot said with a serious face:
"The president of our company is offering a reward of 800,000 US Dollars for the capture of that man and woman. As long as Group Leader Greenwood, you can lead a team to catch them, I guarantee your reward will be more than ample."
Luo An didn’t imdiately agree, he calmly looked at Cabot for a few seconds, then shook the photos, and said with a smile:
"We ca here to camp and vacation, and catching criminals was really not part of our plan.
The special investigation team isn’t just , I need to talk to my team mbers and see what they think."
"No problem."
Cabot nodded repeatedly and stepped aside, saying with a smile:
"As long as you catch those criminals, your team mbers will also get the reward they deserve."
"OK."
Luo An casually replied and walked toward the SUV not too far away.
Mona, Reesi, Chenier, Michelle, and Winslow were all waiting at the side of the SUV. After listening to Luo An’s description, Reesi pursed her lips, saying:
"I knew it, it must be related to those male and female criminals."
Mona frowned slightly and started typing on her laptop again:
"How co I didn’t find any information on this?"
"It’s probably because the president of the toy company doesn’t want to make a big fuss, affecting the company’s business or stock prices."
Chenier casually remarked, Luo An neither agreed nor disagreed, looked at everyone, and asked:
"What are your thoughts?"
"I think we can give it a try."
Winslow was the first to speak up, nodding and saying:
"Anyway, we are on vacation recently, without any official cases to handle."
"I also think we can."
Reesi imdiately nodded, spreading her hands and said with a smile:
"A reward of 800,000 US Dollars, although not a lot, it’s not little either. If we catch the criminals, consider it a bonus, and if not, we have nothing to lose."
"800,000 US Dollars is ’not little’ in your eyes?"
Chenier playfully slapped Reesi’s shoulder, laughing and saying:
"You’re getting carried away, Reesi."
"Can’t help it, our leader is too outstanding, it’s made greedy."
Reesi chuckled and gave Luo An a thumbs up, Luo An casually brushed it aside and asked the others:
"And you?"
"I don’t have a problem."
Chenier and Michelle didn’t mind earning so extra money, Mona closed her laptop and nodded, indicating that she had no objections.
"OK."
Seeing their reactions, Luo An turned around, waved to call Cabot who was waiting, and said with a smile:
"We can help capture these two criminals."
Cabot’s face brightened, just as he was about to speak, Luo An quickly added:
"However, before we start catching people, there are so things that need to be clarified.
First, we currently only have handguns on us, you need to prepare so other equipnt for us.
Second, if the FBI Washington Headquarters sends us an urgent ssage during the process, we’ll have to drop out halfway.
Third, you need to provide us with information on the identities of the criminals, their escape routes, and the like."
"No problem!"
Cabot nodded repeatedly, none of these requests were excessive, and he agreed to all of them. Then he took out his phone to contact his subordinates and asked them to co quickly with the supplies.
After Cabot hung up the phone, Luo An thought for a while, then continued:
"By the way, give that company president a call, I need to talk to him."
"OK."
Cabot nodded, found the number, and dialed. The mont the call connected, Luo An suddenly snatched the phone from his hand and with a whip kick, sent Cabot flying!
