Saturday, 5:30 PM, temporary office, interrogation room.

"Have you paid your taxes?"

Upon hearing Luo An's question, Chenier's expression next to him seed a bit peculiar, Innis Heller was taken aback and then his eyelids twitched, stamring, not knowing what to say:

"I..."

Luo An made a look of realization:

"So you didn't."

Innis Heller felt his throat turn dry and his cheeks twitch, Luo An leaned back, crossing his legs, and laughed:

"Mr. Innis, you wouldn't want the IRS to find out about your tax evasion, would you?"

"..."x2

Everyone present knew the aning of the word IRS.

Compared to being caught by the FBI and ultimately thrown into prison by a judge to drop the soap,

once you've caught the IRS's attention for tax evasion, it signals the end of your life.

Because there's a way to survive in prison, but being targeted by the IRS ans bankruptcy is not far off.

In this free and democratic federal nation, bankruptcy is the most terrifying thing, because it ans a fate worse than death!

As Luo An's threatening words fell, Chenier gave him a weird look, she always felt there was sothing slightly off about that sentence.

The expression on Innis Heller's face turned completely dark, he hesitated for a long ti, took a few deep breaths, looked up at Luo An, and asked:

"What do you want to know?"

Luo An took a sip of his coffee:

"The beach serial shootings case."

Innis Heller's face was stern:

"Are you sure you want to know? Or rather, are you sure you have the authority to investigate?"

As he heard this, a glint of coldness flashed in Chenier's eyes, but Luo An's expression did not change at all as he counter-queried:

"Does this have to do with the federal president?"

Innis Heller shook his head:

"No."

Luo An continued to ask:

"What about those major financial groups?"

Innis Heller's complexion changed slightly:

"…No."

Luo An kept inquiring:

"The military?"

"…No."

Innis Heller's expression beca increasingly rigid, while Luo An cracked a smile.

Since discovering that the intelligence departnt was willing to do him a favor, Luo An had carefully considered his current status, value, and other circumstances.

He then ca to an epiphany that leading an investigation team with a one hundred percent success rate in solving cases, and having the support from Vireness and Mr. Clent, made him, in the eyes of many in the FBI and other departnts of equal rank, an in-demand and capable individual who was also not to be trifled with.

Except for the absolute top echelons in federal politics, big tycoons, big financial groups, and the sowhat closed circles of the military, even when faced with figures from places like Congress Hill, Mr. Clent behind Luo An could step in.

Then, using his accumulated years of political acun, abilities, and connections, Mr. Clent would engage in so exchanges of interests to secure enough benefits for him and Luo An.

At the present stage, the main thing holding Luo An back was his young age, preventing him from moving up in the short term.

But looking at it from another angle, this period was a good ti for Luo An to accumulate professional experience.

When Mr. Clent successfully climbs up later on, Luo An will also have built enough experience, and by then, he will be able to take a big step forward.

By asking Innis Heller a few questions and successfully ruling out the last few answers he did not want to hear, Luo An chuckled, spread his hands forward, and said:

"Please, start your performance."

"..."

Innis Heller was at a loss for words, seeing Luo An's relaxed face looking at him, anger arose from within him, he snorted coldly, and said:

"First of all, the bodies on the beach are not all there is, New York State, New Jersey State, and several nearby states all have similar dumping grounds."

Upon hearing Innis Heller's words, Chenier's face beca extrely grave, a thoughtful look flashed in Luo An's eyes, his facial expression unchanged, he asked:

"So, this is an organization?"

"That's correct."

"What is this organization called?"

Innis Heller leaned back in his chair and said:

"I don't know."

Slap! Slap! Slap!

Chenier rapped the table with her pen, exasperatedly saying:

"Do you know this organization but not its na? Isn't this lie a bit too fake?"

Luo An didn't speak, as Innis Heller calmly said:

"I'm not lying to you, I really don't know.

I'm just a peripheral of the periphery, or rather, not even that. At most, I'm a 'at rabbit' supplier."

Innis Heller indicated that it was five years ago when he accidentally ca into contact with this organization.

He learned from a peripheral mber of the organization that they were willing to pay 200,000 US Dollars for a "high-quality at rabbit," so Innis Heller beca a peripheral supplier of "at rabbits."

"Yet, in your posts, each person is priced at 50,000 US Dollars."

Chenier sneered coldly:

"From 200,000 to 50,000, you sure are making a killing."

"I've told you, I'm a businessman."

Innis Heller said with an indifferent face, even sowhat proudly:

"Buying low and selling high is standard practice; otherwise, how could a businessman make money?"

Waving his hand to interrupt the two's conversation, Luo An leaned forward slightly and asked, his voice intense:

"Do you know the purpose of this unknown organization's purchase of 'at rabbits'?"

"I don't know. Human trafficking, organ trafficking, biological experints, killing for fun, all are possibilities."

Innis Heller shook his head, casually ntioning a few guesses, then said:

"I only care about making money; I've never asked about these.

But once during a transaction, I casually asked the person I was dealing with how I could join the organization.

He told it was simple; I just needed to shoot soone dead in their presence."

"..."

After Innis Heller finished, silence filled the interrogation room.

Chenier was both angry and shocked at the bottom of her heart but at the sa ti also admired Luo An beside her because his words successfully confird Luo An's earlier guess about "displaying loyalty."

Luo An didn't care about Chenier's look. He frowned slightly in thought and then asked:

"How do you conduct each transaction with the organization? Do you have a way to contact them?"

"I only have a one-ti-use cellphone."

Innis Heller stated that every ti he found a suitable "at rabbit," he would use a one-ti-use cellphone to call another one-ti-use cellphone, and they agreed upon the ti and place for the transaction, where money and goods would be exchanged hand to hand.

At the trade site, the organization's people would take Innis Heller's one-ti-use cellphone and then give him a new one-ti-use cellphone along with a new number. The new number's phone was also a one-ti-use cellphone.

As for the previously used one-ti-use cellphones, they would be physically destroyed on the spot by the organization's people, then burned.

This ant that, with each transaction, both parties used brand new one-ti-use cellphones, changing after one transaction, kept for the next trade.

At this point, Innis Heller even complained with a vexed expression:

"The person who dealt with is even greedier than I am!

Every ti he gives a new one-ti-use cellphone, he charges 300 US Dollars.

Damn it! 300 US Dollars could buy several one-ti-use cellphones outside..."

Ignoring the 'dog-eat-dog' complaint from Innis Heller, after listening to his narrative, Chenier bit her back teeth in anger, while also sowhat surprised and uncertain.

The thods used by the organization during transactions are so cautious; the mastermind behind the organization is definitely no ordinary individual.

Luo An also realized this issue, but he was neither flustered nor in a hurry.

Because most of the ti, while the design from those at the top can be good, the people executing it on the ground can fail to achieve the intended idea.

Just like Innis Heller's complaint just now, the person dealing with him was clearly exploiting the organization's rule of one-ti-use cellphones to extort money from Innis Heller.

The leader of the organization that is willing to spend 200,000 US Dollars on a "at rabbit" wouldn't care about those 300 US Dollars, nor would they give such an order, most likely it was the transaction personnel's little idea to profit for themselves.

And these small actions by the lower-level personnel are the opportunities to thoroughly investigate this criminal organization.

After asking so more questions about the organization, Luo An suddenly switched topics and said:

"Those buyers who purchased the child exploitation content from your computer, please write down the list of nas."

"???"

Chenier was stunned for a mont, while Innis Heller's face turned instantly dark upon realizing.

Luo An grinned, as there's no reason not to take the at that's already in his mouth, anyway, they're all fetishists, arresting them would benefit the children.

Amidst Innis Heller's low curses, Chenier walked out of the interrogation room with the record and list, while Luo An followed leisurely with his coffee cup in hand.

Reesi and the others imdiately gathered around to view the clues.

After going through the interrogation records, Reesi, Winslow, and the others cursed fiercely, Mona asked:

"What do we do next?"

"Simple, make a call, find the superior."
