Seeing the doubt on Luo An's face, Lydia asked:

"Do you know how many fugitives from other countries the Federation Governnt shelters each year?"

Luo An really didn't know this, not in this life or his previous one; he had never paid attention to such information.

Lydia didn't expect Luo An to answer and continued explaining on her own:

"Starting thirty years ago, the number of fugitives from other countries entering the Federation territory through legal or illegal ans has been rising exponentially.

NSA doesn't care about ordinary murderers; what they focus on are those political escapees who bring a large amount of their country's money and convert it into US dollars before entering the Federation."

Hearing this, Luo An's face showed a look of sudden understanding; he guessed sothing and asked:

"Do you directly kill these political escapees and get money from them?"

"No, it's not that simple."

Lydia gave Luo An an annoyed look when she heard this; if the NSA's upper echelons were so crude with their thods, they would have been discovered by the FBI a long ti ago, and even the NSA itself wouldn't let them off.

"When my father just died, there was a large inheritance tax to pay, and at that ti, I couldn't co up with the money at all."

Speaking of her father, Lydia's voice was sowhat somber:

"At that ti, when I was at a loss, NSA people approached , saying that as long as I completed one of their tasks, I could get a large sum of money, enough to pay that damn inheritance tax."

"Did you agree?"

"Yes, I didn't hesitate to agree to the NSA contact person who approached ."

Lydia's face looked very unpleasant; after her father's death, the chain of bars he left her and her beautiful face seed like a death warrant during that ti, with many people coveting her.

"After I agreed, the NSA contact person gave a folder with a man's information, telling that I had to marry him within a year.

This man was my first husband when I married at 22.

And his father was a political escapee who sneaked into the Federation Governnt from Western Europe with a large amount of money a few years ago, and died a natural death a year ago."

Upon hearing this, Luo An had an epiphany.

Most of the political escapees from other countries who fled into the Federation Governnt were registered with the FBI; it's just that if those people did not commit cris within the territory, the FBI usually couldn't be bothered to capture them.

So NSA higher-up was eyeing these political escapees who snuck into the Federation Governnt.

To be precise, they were eyeing the money those escapees brought.

Directly killing these political escapees was not appropriate; the NSA higher-ups wanted to secretly keep the money to themselves, not willing to share with the FBI, let alone attract the FBI's attention.

So, they turned their attention to the offspring of these political escapees.

The FBI was more focused on the political escapees themselves most of the ti and wasn't interested in their descendants. The FBI would not pay much attention to the ins and outs of money grabbing from inheritance.

This gave NSA executives an opportunity.

The next actions were self-explanatory:

Find a girl to marry the offspring of a political escapee, figure out the family's financial composition, various passwords, company contracts, etc., then get rid of the second generation.

After the death of the second generation, the girl leaves the family, leaves so money to the relatives of the second generation before departing to wipe away her reputation of marrying for money.

The NSA higher-ups would use the intelligence passed by the girl to pressure and manipulate the second generation's companies and investnts to grab the money for themselves.

During the entire process, getting married is a normal act for the second generation, the FBI wouldn't notice and certainly wouldn't bother investigating the wife's identity.

So relatives never noticed anything wrong and even lanted the girl's decision not to demand a share of the inheritance, thinking she was a good girl.

So relatives noticed sothing off and suspected the girl, but they couldn't find any evidence, and NSA higher-ups would erase all traces.

Additionally, according to Lydia, the agent that caused the husband's death was a new type of drug developed by the CIA using materials from India, combined with special products from South Asia, making it undetectable by forensic doctors.

In this way, a large-scale swindling sche led by the NSA continued to unfold across various states of the Federation.

Over the years, it hasn't been without FBI agents who noticed problems.

But the FBI had no evidence, and the NSA was still patching things up behind, so this matter has continued to this day without a clear exposé.

My goodness, Luo An exclaid after listening to Lydia's narration.

"So, the rumors that you have fewer and fewer bars in your hands are false, right?"

A twitch at the corner of his mouth, Lydia got enough money to pay for inheritance tax with just one marriage, what about the remaining three? How much money did she actually make?

And if Lydia, a grassroots business runner, beca so wealthy, what about the NSA's higher-ups...

Can't think about it, the more you think, the angrier you get.

"The chain of bars my father left , I indeed sold them, that part isn't false."

Hearing Luo An's question, Lydia shrugged her shoulders, speaking with a calm expression:

"I simply used all the money to buy buildings. This 22-story high-rise where 'Fla Queen' bar is located, one-third of it is mine."

Luo An: "..."

Are you guys short on male employees?

Shaking his head, Luo An kicked his thoughts into the trash can and then asked with a solemn face:

"Aren't you afraid that the higher-ups in the NSA would kill you girls off to silence you to hide this matter?"

"At first, I wasn't afraid because Daisy, the NSA contact who first got in touch with , was a woman who specialized in these kinds of tasks in the previous generation, and she lived very well.

It was only after Daisy got too old to continue such tasks that she changed her role to a contact person, responsible for liaising with us.

At the sa ti Daisy brainwashed us, saying that those political offenders were sinners of their country, they deceived their own nation's citizens, engaged in corruption, and made a fortune, and that taking money from their descendants was a righteous act."

At this point, Lydia's facial expression also changed, looking very grave at Luo An:

"But after I completed my last task, Daisy completely disappeared, and I couldn't contact her no matter what.

The new contact said Daisy left the Federation and went to South Arica, but..."

Hearing this, Luo An's mouth curled up into a sneer:

"Leaving the Federation is very likely, but whether the destination is South Arica or Heaven, that's uncertain."

"I need your help, Luo An."

Seeing the expression on Luo An's face, a glimr of hope appeared in Lydia's eyes as she quickly snuggled up to him earnestly saying:

"I'm telling the truth, I really don't want to die, I can be a whistleblower for the FBI, whatever you ask I can tell you!"

"Alright, Lydia."

Ignoring the tempting body next to him, Luo An got up from the bed and walked towards the clothes rack. While searching for clothes, he stumbled upon a pair of handcuffs.

After a two-second silence, Luo An tore off the stockings binding Lydia's hands, replaced them with handcuffs, and then took out his phone to call Reesi.

"Hello?"

"You're quick with the gas, Luo An."

Biting into a hamburger, Reesi said vaguely:

"Didn't you find anything out? I've said it before, Lydia isn't simple, let's give up on this case, there's no reward for solving it anyway."

"No, I've already got the answers."

Luo An glanced back at Lydia, who was lying on the bed, constantly mouthing pleas for him to untie her legs, and said with a frown:

"Do you know where Vireness's ho is?"

The stakes are too high, a little agent like him can't handle it, it's ti to add so burden to the leaders.
