Portland City FBI branch, the Special Investigation Team’s temporarily borrowed monitoring room.

Seeing Chenier biting a huge bite of a burger and Luo An’s cold expression, Michelle was sowhat puzzled:

"Luo An, I didn’t get what you ant."

Luo An didn’t explain imdiately, instead he took out his phone and called Reesi.

"This is Reesi."

Reesi in Las Vegas, currently dealing with Henry and his son’s situation along with Winslow, received a call from Luo An, slightly puzzled:

"What’s the matter?"

Luo An went straight to the point:

"You need to head to the Krista family’s estate imdiately, and investigate the circumstances when Hector Jamie was working there as a gardener."

Reesi, confused, nonetheless nodded in agreent imdiately and then asked:

"Should Winslow co with ?"

"No."

Luo An shook his head, signaling Reesi to hand the phone to Winslow, and then said:

"Winslow, this guy Hector Jamie claims that Ao Na did this to avenge her boyfriend.

The boyfriend’s na is Fay, lived in the northern part of Las Vegas, investigate his life thoroughly."

"OK."

Winslow had no questions, nodded in agreent imdiately. Luo An and Reesi continued to talk for a few monts before hanging up. Mona, who had been busy writing interrogation records on the computer, looked up and frowned:

"Luo An, what exactly is going on?"

"It’s simple, our Mr. Hector Jamie has been lying."

Luo An quickly finished the large burger in his hands, looking at the monitor showing Hector Jamie, continuously scoffing.

During the interrogation process, Luo An always had his "emotional perception" activated, and then he realized that when Hector Jamie was narrating his story,

Hector said he was only after wealth, aiming for treasure; that statent was half true, half false.

Ao Na’s boyfriend died due to his daughter-in-law’s coercion and excessive dication use; this too was half true, half false.

There are unregistered US Dollar bonds worth 50 million dollars in the bank, true.

Hector searched the internet for thieves, to mask his real intentions, he wrote that long list for Petro and his two companions, true.

Hector kidnapped Henry and his son, but chickened out last minute from killing, false.

Hector said he was deceived by Ao Na, never expecting Ao Na would switch the sleeping pills for poison, false.

Apart from these key points, in the whole story narrated by Hector Jamie, the ratio of truth to lies was almost fifty-fifty, not only did Luo An with his "emotional perception" realize this, Chenier also sensed sothing was wrong.

The difference being, Luo An identified where exactly Hector lied, while Chenier rely sensed the lying but couldn’t pinpoint the specifics.

"Damn it."

Mona and Michelle, upon hearing this, imdiately cursed at Hector in the monitor, then asked:

"Luo An, what do we do next?"

"Of course, we carefully investigate according to the story Mr. Hector gave us."

Looking at Hector Jamie lying on the interrogation table pretending to sleep, Luo An chuckled and said:

"Chenier, you previously found that Ao Na, for the past six months, every Wednesday evening after work would go to a coffee shop in the southwest part of Las Vegas, buy a coffee to go, but you couldn’t find where she went.

Michelle, you and Chenier head to Las Vegas now, thoroughly investigate the vicinity of that coffee shop, you must figure out where Ao Na went after buying the coffee!"

"No problem!"

Chenier and Michelle nodded firmly, then imdiately turned and left. Seeing this, Mona raised her hand and asked:

"Luo An, what about ?"

"From now on, carefully investigate Hector’s movents and spending records over the past year."

Luo An crossed his arms in front of his chest, his eyes slightly squinted, and he said solemnly:

"I want to see what exactly our Mr. Hector has been hiding from us."

As Luo An’s voice fell, the dozing Hector Jamie in the interrogation room seed to wake up, looked around, raised his head, and gave a faint smile to the cara.

————

The next day, Luo An and a few temporarily borrowed agents escorted Hector Jamie back to Las Vegas, where the cri took place, while Mona stayed in Portland City to continue searching for clues.

Due to this investigation, many local computer networks were of no help, so for the next week, Winslow, Reesi, Chenier, and Michelle had to make grueling door-to-door visits, finally returning to the Special Investigation Team’s temporarily borrowed office, dusty and weary.

This was the most strenuous clue investigation since the establishnt of the Special Investigation Team, but fortunately, everyone’s efforts were not wasted, as all agents found useful clues.

The agents all took their seats, with serious expressions, and Winslow spoke first:

"Chief, you were right, Hector indeed lied."

According to Winslow’s investigation, a man nad Fay had a sister who revealed that Fay indeed pursued Ao Na and even played sports gas with her.

But the relationship between the two was never close enough to trust each other with their lives. The sister had t Ao Na, and her woman’s intuition told her that Ao Na was not a good woman. However, before the sister could converse more with Ao Na, her brother Fay encountered an unexpected event and left this world.

After Winslow finished, Michelle looked and followed up imdiately:

"We found out where Ao Na went after leaving the coffee shop."

The two won spent days checking house by house and finally found a landlord in a community south of the coffee shop who revealed that Ao Na had rented a room there.

After spending 1000 US Dollars, the two won learned from neighbors that every Wednesday night, sounds of a man and a woman playing were heard from that room.

The woman was Ao Na, but the identity of the man was unclear, though the neighbors had never seen him. However, when the two won played a recording of Hector’s voice for the neighbor, the neighbor remarked that it sounded very similar to the man’s voice.

After Michelle finished, Chenier added:

"Additionally, we found Ao Na’s underwear in that room, along with a small amount of white powder.

The analysis revealed that this white powder was trioxide dioxidine and eszopiclone, which caused the deaths in the villa case.

Moreover, there were signs that the room had been carefully cleaned, and we found no traces of hair or fingerprints belonging to anyone other than Ao Na."

After Michelle and Chenier finished speaking, Mona imdiately stood up and said:

"I haven’t found any useful clues regarding Hector’s movents and spending records.

However, I discovered sothing—while Hector was in prison, his cellmate, who knew psychology and had been incarcerated for psychologically inducing others to commit cris, had a very good relationship with Hector.

After Hector was released, he rented a house to live in. Not long after, consumption records of the neighbor indicated that the neighbor bought a bunch of psychology-related books."

Luo An took the folders handed over by the group, paused for a few seconds, and summarized:

"So, it is highly probable that Hector was indeed in a romantic relationship with Ao Na, and he used his knowledge of psychology to control Ao Na, making her kill the people in the villa and commit suicide."

"Highly likely."

Chenier and Winslow nodded solemnly, both experienced and had seen how religions could brainwash people and how the brainwashed believers were willing to commit suicide.

Luo An’s expression remained unchanged, Mona frowned slightly, and asked:

"But what was Hector’s reason for doing this? There were 26 people in the villa that night."

As the conversation ended, the silent Reesi sneered, stood up, and said:

"I’ve found out the reason."
