Ten minutes later, at the Special Investigation Team's conference room.

At this mont, the conference room had lost its previous lively scene; all agents from the three investigation teams had left to the office area outside to discuss plans and make preparations before the action comnced.

Only the leaders of the three investigation teams remained in the conference room.

Luo An sat at the head position calmly drinking tea, Elr sat on the left drinking coffee, and Cecilia sat on the right, motionless, her face frighteningly cold.

Ti ticked by, minute by minute, until Cecilia could no longer contain her impatience and spoke first:

"We have the most evidence in our hands; I want 50%."

The three had just calculated roughly that the total worth of companies, properties, and illicit gains owned by Trevian Sheffield was about 370 million US Dollars.

Most of this money would subsequently be seized by the Federation Governnt, and the three investigative teams could share approximately 11 million US Dollars.

The 50% Cecilia referred to was half of that 11 million US Dollars.

"Impossible."

Elr put down his coffee cup and rejected the proposal with a smile, saying it was impossible for the IRS to settle for so little.

Considering that she had already been leading the team on this case for such a long ti and now others were taking a share, Cecilia's voice grew even colder:

"40%!"

Elr still shook his head. Just as Cecilia's expression turned even uglier and she was about to continue, Luo An put down his teacup and asked with a faint smile:

"Team Leader Cecilia, I heard you almost got promoted last ti, is that true?"

As Luo An finished, Cecilia's brow furrowed slightly, while the eyes of Elr Team Leader sowhat brightened.

Five minutes later, Team Leader Cecilia left the conference room expressionless; Luo An and Elr Team Leader exchanged glances and laughed together.

The final agreent was that the Special Investigation Team and the IRS would share 75%, whilst Cecilia's Departnt of Justice investigation team would get 25%.

In exchange, the case on paper would officially belong to Team Leader Cecilia, under whose leadership everyone resolved the case against the gang lord Trevian Sheffield.

Compared to money, Team Leader Cecilia was more hungry for rit, more eager for promotion.

The freshly appointed Luo An cared more about tangible benefits and was indifferent to the nominal ownership of the case; he also disliked attention and dealing with the probing dia.

As for Elr, as long as he resolved the money laundering issues concerning Trevian Sheffield, his rit within the IRS would be inevitable; hence, he also didn't care about the nominal ownership of the case.

With Team Leader Cecilia gone, it was now ti to discuss the distribution of the 75%.

After a brief haggling, Luo An's Special Investigation Team would get 44%, and Elr's IRS-CI would get 31%.

Of course, given Elr's involvent, the total value of the seized and processed companies, properties, and illicit gains of Trevian Sheffield would definitely exceed 11 million US Dollars. Out of any excess value, Luo An's Special Investigation Team would take 40%, and the hard-working Elr's IRS-CI would take 60%.

As for Cecilia from the Departnt of Justice, she was to take 25% of the 11 million US Dollars; she had not asked for anything extra, so it had nothing to do with her.

"Old fox!"

"Little fox!"

After discussions, Elr and Luo An exchanged a look, ntally labeling each other, then together raised their tea and coffee cups, clinked them, and laughed heartily:

"Pleasure doing business!"

————

That evening, at nine o'clock.

Luo An, Elr, and Cecilia discussed the operational details and contingency plans briefly with a group of agents in the Special Investigation Team office area, then imdiately ordered the agents to start the operation.

Sampson had been brought back by Luo An and his team to prevent any complications that might alert Trevian Sheffield and others to escape; acting swiftly was crucial.

As previously ntioned, the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation Departnt has the authority to arrest first and gather evidence later, so Elr did not waste words, and directly led his team into Trevian Sheffield's villa. Nobody dared to stop them or resist along the way.

The reputation of the IRS is not to be taken lightly, especially when Elr was arresting people under the guise of a tax investigation.

If soone resisted, turning it into an ard stand against tax enforcent, then what would be deployed next wouldn't be just a few tax agents with handguns; tanks might even roll in.

Trevian Sheffield was easily taken away by the IRS, and while he was busy contacting his personal accountant and lawyer, Luo An was leading Reesi, Mona, and Michelle, each leading SWAT team mbers directly to Trevian Sheffield's subordinates, as recorded in the FBI database.

The entire operation was conducted very swiftly; first, they activated a new signal jamr to prevent the subordinates from contacting Trevian Sheffield or calling for help, then they directly stord into rooms to make arrests, and those lower-level figures who resisted violently were imdiately neutralized.

After Luo An and others successfully brought Trevian Sheffield's subordinates back to the Special Investigation Team, Team Leader Cecilia of the Departnt of Justice imdiately led her team to rigorously interrogate these individuals.

Besides physical thods, Cecilia and other agents employed a mixture of threats, inducents, and both tough and soft tactics, aiming to obtain crucial evidence that could lock Trevian Sheffield away for good in the shortest ti.

Hours passed, especially after Luo An and Reesi joined in the interrogation work, finally one of the subordinates couldn't withstand the pressure and started talking.

Once one spoke, more followed, and soon Cecilia's agents obtained crucial evidence. Seeing this, Cecilia wasted no more words and imdiately filed for an arrest warrant and a request to seize all assets of Trevian Sheffield.

Another few hours passed, and at two-thirty in the afternoon the next day.

Trevian Sheffield, his wife Lonnie Sheffield, and several accountants and personal lawyers had not yet walked out from the IRS office when Team Leader Cecilia from the Departnt of Justice approached them with the arrest warrant, looked at the visages of the distressed couple, and said with a cold laugh:

"Trevian Sheffield, Lonnie Sheffield, you are under arrest."

While Cecilia stood displaying the arrest warrant, triumphantly confronting the cursing Trevian Sheffield couple, Luo An was sitting in the surveillance room, holding a cup of tea given to him by Elr Team Leader, which was English Breakfast tea.

On the computer screen in the surveillance room were scenes from an adjacent interrogation room, where Michelle and Reesi were taking notes, facing a murderer nad Sampson, who chose to plead guilty, willing to be a witness identifying Trevian Sheffield, revealing everything.

"This case is pretty much wrapped up at this point."

Sitting beside Luo An, Mona was watching the scenes on the computer screen with mixed feelings.

Although there was still a lot of work to be done subsequently, and Trevian Sheffield was sure to desperately retaliate with manpower and money, under the combined efforts of the Special Investigation Team, IRS-CI, and the Departnt of Justice Cecilia Group, Trevian Sheffield was dood to a fate of losing everything and being locked behind bars.

"So, there's no good ending in the underworld."

Luo An smiled as he patted Mona on the arm. Transitioning from bad to good was the right path, but it required having many prerequisites of right and wrong, which Trevian Sheffield lacked, hence he was dood to fail.

"Let's not talk about this anymore."

Mona shook her head, pushing the jumbled thoughts from her mind, waiting for Reesi and Michelle to finish their interrogation before the two left the surveillance room to deal with the follow-up procedures of Sampson.

In the following days, due to the extensive implications of this case, Luo An and the Special Investigation Team agents were continuously working, even putting in two extra days.

On Friday evening, Reesi knocked on the door and entered the team leader's office, pointing to the office area landline phone, she said:

"Luo An, soone is looking for you."
