Special Investigation Team, office area.

Pulling out his phone to check, Luo An found that the caller was Potante Byrne, the group supervisor, indicating that there was a matter that required his presence in the office.

"OK."

Nodding and hanging up the phone, Luo An asked Mona and Reesi to wait for a while, then turned and left the office area.

Mona didn't mind, she turned around preparing to continue working on her computer, but discovered Reesi looking at the report in her hands with a complex expression.

"What's wrong?"

Reesi licked her lips without answering, simply handing the report to Mona.

Upon receiving the report, Mona found that the nad victim Tina had not only traces of fentanyl and carfentanil residue in her system, but also residues of a drug capable of causing unconsciousness.

Additionally, there were signs of bruising from forceful gripping on both of Tina's wrists and ankles, and evidence of violent assault on her lower body.

There was no genetic material from the assailant found inside Tina's body, but testing revealed the presence of dithyl silicone oil.

This component was also discovered in the other four male victims.

Mona looked up at Reesi, who had also learned of Tina's other side from her this morning.

The contents of the report clearly stated what Tina had experienced the previous night.

The two won in the office exchanged glances and fell silent.

On another side, Luo An stood in the elevator with his hands pocketed, silently guessing the reason Potante Byrne had summoned him to the office this ti.

The probability was that it wasn't about the 300 million US Dollars he had obtained last night; otherwise, the other party wouldn't have just called him to the office, but instead would have co knocking at the door with a bunch of people.

Regarding what to do with these 300 million US Dollars, Luo An had no intention of imdiately transferring them into Federation territory, but instead planned to launder the money later again, continuing to transfer it in batches and through multiple layers.

In this process, Luo An intended to do it three more tis, as being extra careful never hurt anyone, and vigilance ensures a long-term operation.

After transferring three tis, Luo An planned to register so accounts in tax havens such as the Cayman Islands, and Panama, and deposit the money there in batches.

As for the so-called "world's safest bank," the Swiss Bank, Luo An only planned to deposit a small amount that matched his official net worth.

After all, according to his experience from his past life, he knew that this so-called "permanently neutral country's" stance on neutrality was too much like Schrödinger's cat – Luo An didn't want to be exposed because of their sudden actions.

Arriving at the supervisor Potante Byrne's office, Luo An knocked on the door, and after receiving permission, he pushed the door and entered:

"Good morning, boss."

"Good morning, have a seat."

Potante Byrne gestured to the chair in front of his desk, and Luo An sat down without any fuss, asking directly:

"I wonder what task the boss has called for?"

"It's not a task, but so situations need to be clarified with you."

Potante Byrne leaned back and crossed his legs, placing his hands crossed upon his knees, and said to Luo An:

"The recent bank robbery case, the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI) has begun participating in the investigation."

Luo An's facial expression remained unchanged, sothing he had already predicted.

There's an old saying in the Federation: only death and taxes are eternal.

Despite the major financial groups within the Federation having their own banks, these banks also need to pay taxes.

The biggest of these is the "Federation Inco Tax," which is a major source of funding for the Federation Governnt's social projects every year.

In this bank robbery case, the banks were resistant to disclosing to law enforcent how much money the robbers had actually stolen, which is a violation of federal tax law, and it's quite normal for the IRS to step in.

However, Luo An was not flustered at all. With the IRS stepping in, at most they could only investigate how much money was actually stolen from the bank; recovering that money was impossible.

After all, the money had already jumped across many bank accounts around the world nurous tis.

With this in mind, Luo An also crossed his legs in a relaxed manner, knowing that Potante Byrne's summons today couldn't possibly be for just this reason.

As expected, after pausing for a few seconds, Potante Byrne continued:

"In this bank robbery, there were two parties involved: Jack's gang of robbers, and the driver, rcenaries, and others who wanted to silence him.

We've already identified Jack. He was the forr leader of an operation team in a certain law enforcent departnt of the Federation, and those six robbers were all his soldiers before he left."

At this point, Potante Byrne looked at Luo An with a mix of surprise and regret in his eyes.

The surprise was because the records showed that those six guys were no ordinary soldiers; each one had ample battlefield experience, yet Luo An managed to take down three of them without sustaining a single injury.

The regret was that Luo An was not under his command and showed no intention of switching sides.

Luo An chose to ignore the look in Potante Byrne's eyes and asked with a smile:

"Then what about that group of rcenaries, including the driver? Have their details been found out?"

"Hmph!"

Hearing this, Potante Byrne snorted coldly, implying that Team 4's investigation last night successfully located two of the n, but were unable to capture them alive.

A total of six cars were driven by the gang of robbers. One was counter-hijacked by Luo An, who then captured one driver.

The people in the other four cars died in the street shootout that night, leaving only the occupants of one car who managed to escape.

Among the three people in that car, two died during Team 4's crude operation last night, leaving the whereabouts of the last person unknown to date.

According to the information gathered by Team 4, this last person was referred to by the driver as the "temporary captain."

Unfortunately, although Team 4 guessed the role of this person among the rcenaries, they couldn't find any photos or other clues to their identity.

"Wow, quite a cautious fellow."

After hearing Potante Byrne's description, Luo An raised an eyebrow, surprised at the captain's ability to evade detection and his other not-so-average skills.

Then Luo An laughed, Team 4 was indeed a formidable investigation team, but finding soone intentionally avoiding them in Los Angeles, a city with a population of over three million, was not an average challenge.

In discussing this, Potante Byrne finally revealed the reason for calling Luo An to his office today, which was to inquire if there were any clues related to the driver and his group of rcenaries.

Luo An shook his head, he hadn't actually held back any clues, considering doing so would be of little significance.

After a mont of thought, Luo An added:

"I think we should focus on investigating Jack's details, as he may have a connection to the rcenary captain."

"Alright."

Seeing Luo An shake his head, Potante Byrne sighed. His questioning was more out of a long-standing habit, he never really believed Luo An would deliberately withhold any clues.

It was just unsettling for him not to ask.

"By the way, please be extra cautious when you're out and about in Los Angeles from now on."

Towards the end of their conversation, Potante Byrne said seriously:

"After all, you've killed mbers of that group of rcenaries; we can't rule out the possibility of the 'temporary captain' targeting you."

"OK, thanks, Chief."

Luo An smiled broadly, indicating he understood, then turned around and left the office.

Pushing open the door of the Special Investigation Team, Luo An was surprised to find Reesi and Mona arguing loudly about sothing.
