Office area of Investigation Team No. 5, at the front, William posted three photographs on the whiteboard.
Each photograph depicted an adult Caucasian male, though their ages slightly differed.
"The first one, Carl."
William pointed to the photo of a 37-year-old, slightly balding Caucasian and introduced:
"This guy is a surgeon at a hospital in New York, single, with three sons aged between 5-10, all adopted.
We checked and found so issues with his adoption papers; they are most likely fake."
Luo An noted the man's na in his notebook:
"A doctor, who can always examine the children's physical condition effectively.
Plus, he could do so things he likes on the side."
Mona and the others agreed with Luo An's view, and William continued to introduce the second suspect, a well-dressed, smiling, chubby middle-aged Caucasian:
"This guy is Dawer, owner of a travel agency called 'Imagine Roaming', single, childless.
We checked the travel agency, and apart from so regular travel packages, there are certain packages that only registered mbers can view details of.
However, we could not find how to register as a mber."
Reesi raised her hand in response and addressed the agents:
"I know this, it's absolutely that kind of mbership model where invitation is required."
"That's correct."
Luo An affird Reesi's speculation.
Such thods were rampant in the later era of advanced networks, where entering so adult forums was essentially dependent on invitation codes.
William noted they had the sa theory and then proceeded to introduce the last person.
This Caucasian man was very young, photographed at a school playground, embracing a pair of soccer-playing boys with a smile:
"His na is Vincent, the youngest son of New York City's Deputy Mayor."
"Hmm..."
Upon hearing William's words, all mbers of Investigation Team No. 5 fell silent.
Luo An twirled his pen a few tis and asked in a stern voice:
"Do you believe these three are the central figures of the New York 'Federation Youth Hobbies Association'? Do you have any solid evidence? Preferably direct evidence."
"There's no direct evidence, but we've found many clues."
William returned to his desk, handed several papers to Luo An and the others, saying:
"Let's skip Carl, his adoption papers are problematic, likely fake.
Dawer's travel agency primarily operates in regions like South Arica and South Asia, and the revenue reported annually does not match the financial status he displays.
As for Vincent..."
William handed Luo An a newspaper, with an article in the bottom right corner, primarily revealing that New York's Deputy Mayor's youngest son often invited little boys to play together. One parent later discovered his son acting strangely, reported to the police but was coerced into settling it privately.
This kind of report occurred periodically, never ceased, always relegated to the corners, largely ignored, and even the newspaper had recently gone bankrupt.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk, dark, really dark."
After reading the content, Luo An clicked his tongue, truly characteristic of a capitalist country, these people who controlled the narrative truly had whatever they desired.
"But these are all indirect evidence; we can't apply for a search warrant."
Leyd looked at the photos of the three boys, about his son's age, adopted by Carl, his brows deeply furrowed.
Who knows what Carl has done to them.
"So the next target is to find direct evidence."
Luo An walked to the front of the office area, watched the photos on the whiteboard for a while with his arms folded, then turned to everyone and said:
"Reesi, you and Ray should visit the school where Carl's three adopted boys study, inquire with the teachers and others there to see if you can find so clues... and also make a visit to the immigration office."
"No problem!"
Ray and Reesi responded, threw the folders they were holding, and turned to leave from Investigation Team Five.
Luo An then turned his gaze to Mona, his lips slightly lifting:
"Mona, I believe you absolutely have a way to access that travel company's website, right?"
Mona chuckled, raised her right hand and gave Luo An an "OK" sign.
"Wait a mont."
William, seeing this, beca sowhat anxious and said:
"Luo An, you don't intend to let Mona hack into that company's internal network to directly find evidence, do you? If so, the judge will determine there are issues with our legal procedures!"
"Of course not."
Although Luo An didn't deal much with the follow-ups of cases, he still had a good understanding of the special procedural justice of the federation, thus he explained with a smile to William and Mona:
"Mona, you just need to register as a mber on that travel company's website and get a clear understanding of that company's specific business."
Mona once again threw an OK gesture at Luo An, and seeing this, William seed to understand what Luo An planned to do, but Luo An did not continue to elaborate and left with the folder from Investigation Team Five.
Special Agent Supervisor Office.
"This is one of the suspects we've located, boss."
Luo An sat across from Vireness, placing the information about New York's deputy mayor's youngest son Vincent, on her desk.
"You guys are fast."
Vireness picked up the folder, briefly skimd through it, then placed it back on the desk, her mouth corners slightly raised, and then handed another folder to Luo An:
"Vincent indeed is one of the founders and administrators of the New York Association, but there are four umbrellas behind him."
Luo An opened the folder and discovered that the information Vireness had found was more detailed. The four umbrellas' identities included the deputy mayor of New York, a legislator, a senior official in the New York Departnt of Justice, and an FBI New York Branch departnt head.
Ignoring the content of Washington Headquarters's investigative actions in the folder, Luo An raised his head and showed a smile to Vireness:
"As expected of the boss, you cleared up these matters so easily."
Vireness, upon hearing this, threw a pair of beautiful hygiene balls at Luo An.
Knowing well how she conducted the investigation, Vireness picked up another folder from the pile of docunts beside her, lowered her head to continue her work, and then spoke:
"The next steps are up to you guys; rember to notify when you start moving, as I want to hold a large-scale press conference."
Seeing this, Luo An's eyes narrowed slightly, and he spoke softly:
"Boss, this is a big case."
"Indeed, it is a big case."
Vireness subconsciously repeated Luo An's words, then her pen-writing movent slightly paused, slowly raising her head to look at Luo An, her tone shifting slightly:
"What do you an?"
"Boss, what conditions are needed for a Special Agent Supervisor to continue to be promoted upward?"
Luo An leaned back tactically with a smile, propping up his legs.
He was bound for Los Angeles soon, and it would be a while before he saw Vireness again.
To prevent a decline in Vireness's fondness due to the distance, Luo An decided to solidly up Vireness's good feelings towards him before leaving New York, making it hard for her to forget him in the short term.
At the sa ti, doing so was also beneficial for Luo An himself.
