The good news is, Vireness was just joking with Luo An about the slots; she had already inford Augustus, so there was no need for Luo An to speak in person.
The bad news is that Augustus knew exactly who those four slots would be, so he still glared at Luo An for a long ti.
Luo An had no choice but to smile and hand Augustus a super-sized, deluxe burger.
However, the transfer to Los Angeles was a matter for the next month, the priority was still the serial killing case they were currently handling.
Thus, after a brief chat with Augustus, who finished his burger in a few big bites, Augustus waved his hand, indicating Luo An to first interrogate Magdalena, and they would discuss other matters later.
The interrogation of Magdalena did not take long, this 57-year-old still charming woman was clearly intelligent, possessing an unusually high IQ and EQ.
As soon as Luo An and Reesi sat down, Magdalena indicated that she knew a lot and had many clues, offering to testify in court if everything was disclosed.
But there was a condition: the FBI had to enroll her in the Witness Protection Program and relocate her to a small city to live incognito for the rest of her life.
After receiving a positive response from Vireness, Luo An agreed to Magdalena's request.
For Vireness, Magdalena's value was average, her "disciples" and "sisters," like Palfray, were more important.
Having received Luo An's affirmative reply, Magdalena began to earnestly reveal the clues she knew about in the serial killing case.
————
Half an hour later, Magdalena was taken away by soone Vireness had sent.
From Vireness's attitude, Luo An felt she intended to have Magdalena backstab her own "sisters" and "disciples" harshly.
Luo An didn't think too much about it, dealing with the ongoing serial killing case was most crucial.
"Ladies and gentlen, according to Magdalena, our five victims, except for cousin Kelton Blake.
The rest of them, real estate broker Osman Chet, news channel host Paul Blake, hotel owner Hogan Jamie, and senior lawyer Carl Zoff, were all mbers of an underground club."
Reesi stood at the forefront of investigative team five's office area and loudly read the clues obtained from the interrogation:
"Magdalena indicated that this club has two areas.
One area's activities are similar to the movie 'Eyes Wide Open', where Magdalena primarily was responsible for sending girls into the club."
Here, Reesi licked his lips, he wasn't interested in n, but when Magdalena ntioned there was a female-only area, Reesi was sowhat curious to see it.
"So, what does this club have to do with this serial killing case?"
Just returning from the restroom, Reid raised his hand and asked his question.
He had been in more chaotic scenes during SWAT operations, so he wasn't particularly curious about such matters.
Hearing Reid's question, Luo An, who had been quietly reviewing docunts, stood up and said:
"The club's second area relates to finance, that area's mbers are wealthy, they always discuss investnts, stocks, bonds, and other information while playing cards, helping each other to make money.
As for whether this club has anything to do with this case, Mona and William are investigating."
"Of course it's related!"
As Luo An's voice fell, Mona imdiately hamred her keyboard, then looked up smiling:
"According to the information from the underground club, those four victims were often seen playing cards with a man.
This man's na is Richard yer, 37 years old this year, the owner of a textile factory.
I just checked Richard yer's financial situation and found out his textile factory had gone bankrupt two months ago.
The main reason for bankruptcy was Richard yer diverting the factory's liquid funds to purchase a stock, which plumted and never recovered."
Luo An nodded:
"If I'm not mistaken, that stock must have been recomnded to Richard yer by the four victims."
"Exactly!"
William continued:
"Not only that, after Richard yer's textile factory closed, the land was also resold by the four victims together."
"Wow, that's terrible."
After listening to William's account, Led smacked his lips repeatedly, shaking his head with a face full of sympathy.
But Mona, sitting next to him, threw a burger at Led and said with a laugh:
"According to Richard yer's previous financial situation, the textile factory wasn't his at the beginning.
It was also acquired by Richard yer through almost the sa ans as the four deceased, from soone else at the club."
Led caught the burger and paused, Luo An next to him chuckled and patted his shoulder:
"There's an old Eastern saying, 'Dog bites dog, a mouthful of fur' and 'All day catching geese but ending up pecked by them', you could look up what these proverbs an."
"Okay."
Led opened his mouth and bit fiercely into the burger, after chewing a few tis, he suddenly rembered another question:
"But if Richard yer really is the killer, for revenge, he could have just killed people directly, why bother to additionally sever the genitals of the four victims?"
"Hmm..."
Led's words made Reesi frown, then she turned her gaze to William.
William shook his head, and Reesi turned her gaze towards Mona.
Mona chuckled, tapped the keyboard a few tis, and brought up Richard yer's photo and his credit card transaction records on the computer screen:
The Richard yer in the computer was a middle-aged white man with quite a few muscles.
But his credit card records showed that he had purchased the sa type of toy found in the fourth victim, Carl Zoff's ho by Luo An and Reesi, several tis.
"So, Richard yer is likely a gay professional."
Reesi nodded in realization, and Led bit fiercely into his burger again.
Next to him, Luo An frowned slightly, but bringing Richard yer in for questioning by Squad Five now definitely seed like the best option, so he patted Mona's shoulder and asked:
"Where is Richard yer now, can you find out?"
"Easy."
Mona's fingers flew over the keyboard, and soon based on Richard yer's recent credit card transaction records, found his current location:
"A small community in the Lower District of New York Queens District."
"OK!"
Luo An nodded with no further words, saying directly:
"Led, Reesi, you two are coming with to Queens now, let's bring Richard yer to visit our Squad Five."
"No problem!"
Led and Reesi nodded, the three of them quickly walked into the equipntroom, then drove off in a brand-new SUV towards Queens.
Just as they were about to arrive at the destination, Luo An's phone suddenly rang.
He pressed the answer button:
"What's up, Mona?"
"Just now the forensic lab sent over a report."
On the other end, Mona said:
"The report is on that footprint you found earlier in the fourth victim, Carl Zoff's house.
The forensics report showed that the killer wore a size 11 Startek shoe, which is the most common type of work boots on the market.
Not only that, the forensics also found so plant ash and tiny glass particles under the carpet that don't belong to that room."
"Good."
Parking the SUV by the roadside, Luo An acknowledged he had received this information, then quickly moved with Led and Reesi, grabbing their Glock 18, towards the apartnt where Richard yer lived.
