Polly soared gracefully through the air, tirelessly ferrying people one by one from the ships to the floating island. It took a while—a long while, honestly—but eventually, every last person stood on the Floating Island of Vensalor, their feet finally planted on solid—well, floating—ground.
And the mont they were all gathered?
Cheers erupted.
Laughter, shouts of amazent, and utter joy echoed across the wide plateau of the island.
People spun around to take in the view. So knelt and touched the ground. Others just stood there, stunned by the beauty of the shimring lake, the glinting barrier overhead, and the potential of the land beneath their feet.
A group of Vensalor Guild mbers quickly surrounded Broken.
"This is incredible, Broken!" said Jovina. "You had a place this amazing and kept it a secret all to yourself?"
"If only I could bring people here more easily, you know," Broken replied, throwing up his hands. "Not exactly accessible by public ferry."
"Khi khi khi!" Goldrich chuckled beside them. "I can already imagine it—a grand kingdom built high above the ocean. This might be my retirent spot, Broken. It's got that kind of peace."
"Yeah, Broken," chid in Rember, grinning. "I say we build a high-end restaurant and luxury hotel—Yunatea-class. Charge premium prices, make this a tourist paradise. We'll rake in coins."
"You're already thinking about profit?" Broken said, laughing.
Then Booba leaned in. "By the way, Broken… Do we have any decent hunting grounds here? Monsters? Anything for a proper hunt?"
"No monsters on the island," Broken replied. "But you're free to dive into the ocean and hunt below."
Booba just nodded. "Well, guess I've got no other choice then. Heh."
As the chatter buzzed around him, Broken's eyes drifted to one of the workers in full armor, standing stiffly near a pile of supplies. The na above his head blinked faintly: Mortar.
Beside him, Livelywood caught Broken's gaze and laughed softly. "Ah, Mortar…" he said, half-apologetically. "Still getting complaints from the other workers. Apparently, his yawning and sneezing combo was getting out of hand, so now he wears that helt constantly. Muffles the noise. Cuts the grumbling."
Broken grinned awkwardly, holding back a laugh. Of course. The Legendary Yawner had sohow evolved into the Legendary Sneezer, too—thanks to so unfortunate passive talent he'd activated without aning to.
Ah, this island was already sothing special. And now, it was truly alive.
Goldrich, along with a few other high-level Vensalor guild mbers, had only co to visit the floating island temporarily. But that wasn't a problem. Thanks to the exit gates, they could return to Dissidia Kingdom anyti they wanted.
And in the anti, they could freely hunt, explore, and even level up in the surrounding ocean. That much was more than enough to keep them content.
But Broken knew the truth. He needed more people. More workers. More guards. More hands.
Yes, the island was beautiful. Magical. Full of promise. But if it was going to beco a kingdom, he needed it protected. Maintained. Alive.
Thankfully, Maylock and Lucy were already preparing for that—spearheading an expansion plan for the Vensalor Guild, building two new specialized branches: One branch to recruit players with production classes—crafters, builders, artisans. And one to gather combat-focused players—the muscle, the knights, the guardians.
Eventually, Broken could train NPC knights to hold down the fort. But that would take ti. A lot of it. Slumdon Town alone wasn't even halfway toward its projected growth.
So for now…
He needed sothing else.
Sothing more imdiate.
And that's when it struck him, he could build a golem.
Not just any golem.
A guardian golem. Designed specifically to defend the island from any direction.
The problem? He could only control four golems simultaneously with his current ability. That ant he couldn't just mass-produce them. Each one needed to count.
Which ant… He had to build sothing powerful. Precise. Reliable.
One or two golems that could watch over the entire island—like sentinels in the sky.
It wouldn't be easy.
But if he pulled it off? The Floating Island of Vensalor would have its first true defenders.
So, what kind of golem did Broken need?
Booba was the first to pitch in.
"Why not just build the palace itself as a golem?" he grinned. "Mount turrets all over it—so if anything attacks, the whole place shoots back!"
"You're still as stupid as ever, Booba, even with all your money." Jovina imdiately fired back, arms crossed. "That would spread the golem's core too thin. It'd be trash for combat. Just save your dumb idea for your diary, will you?"
Booba only laughed louder. "It's not dumb! A palace is sturdy, right? Hahaha—imagine the surprise on their faces when the 'castle' fights back!"
Rember raised a finger, thoughtful. "Broken—what if you just build a massive wall around the island? Enclose it. Then convert the whole thing into a golem that shoots arrows and spells from mounted turrets when triggered."
"That's even dumber." Jovina rolled her eyes. "Too big, too risky. One breach, and the whole island's in danger. Seriously, both of you—just be quiet."
PussyCat, sitting nearby, let out a small laugh, calm and composed.
"Actually, I think Broken will go with sothing simpler. The simpler the structure, the better the output and overall durability."
She glanced at Broken, then continued. "A small turret tower—sothing with long-range magic and arrow attacks—placed at key points. Four copies would be enough to cover the island's periter. Powerful. Efficient. Controlled."
Jovina smirked. "Now that's a rich girl with a brain. Not like you two gold-hoarding clowns."
Booba waved a hand. "Shut up, you didn't even offer a real idea! I still say mine's brilliant. Hahaha!"
And despite the bickering, Broken now had a much clearer picture of what he needed:
A turret-style golem. Small. Focused. Four powerful sentinels—each one a guardian of his floating kingdom.
Broken opened the Golem Creation Panel, his fingers already moving as his mind raced with the form and function he had in mind.
PussyCat's idea… it had actually been spot-on. It aligned perfectly with what he had envisioned from the start—a golem designed purely for long-range assault.
A sentinel. A turret.
Not a fortress. Not a moving wall. But a guardian that could strike first—and warn the island's people in the event of a threat.
That was the key.
Because this floating island… it hung above the sea like a beacon. And anything from below—or the sky—could turn deadly in an instant.
He needed sothing that would see it coming.
Sothing that would fire the first shot.
So he began.
He kept the design simple—a tower-like body, narrow and vertical, built to withstand the wind pressure from the high altitude. No elaborate limbs. No excessive chanisms. Just four powerful legs, built to steady the golem and allow it to adjust positioning slightly on uneven terrain.
Then he added the turret—a magical node embedded at the top of the structure, which functions to fire magical arrows at hostile targets from long range.
But that wasn't all.
He also created a loading chamber, able to hold oversized enchanted arrows for when brute force was needed. These wouldn't fire as fast, but one hit could decimate a mid-level monster or force back a diving enemy.
This was it.
Simple. Clean. Deadly.
And if it worked… He'd create three more—one for each cardinal direction, guarding the floating island of Vensalor from the skies and seas.
Broken reviewed the design one last ti. Every angle, every joint. It was sturdy. Efficient. Perfect for its purpose.
He nodded once.
Now… create the golem.
