"I'm sure this will be quite a long and important discussion..." Broken began with a serious tone. "So, I'm inviting all mbers of the Vensalor Guild to join us for this."
In the sa room, floating screens materialized above several empty chairs, displaying the avatars of each mber joining the eting.
"Broken, congratulations! You did it!" Elincia was the first to shout.
"Hahaha! Too bad I wasn't there for the final monts," Booba chid in.
"Damn it! I lost my ring again!" lliandra groaned, drawing laughter from the group.
"But seriously, we need to throw a huge party for Broken and Queen Alora's official wedding ceremony!" Jovina added with a grin.
More laughter followed.
"You truly are a man, Broken. Khi khi khi."
Once everyone had gathered, including Tora, who joined a little later, the atmosphere in the room shifted to a more serious tone. The discussion was ready to begin.
Broken took a mont before speaking. "I'd like to give anyone here the chance to speak first."
Maylock gave a slight nod. "You're certainly humble to let others go first in sothing this important."
"The decision is obvious, though," Rember chid in casually.
"Shut up, Rember," Forev shot back.
Maylock pressed on. "Alright, the first topic we need to address is the future ruler of the Dissidia Kingdom,"
The room fell into silence. Everyone seed lost in their own thoughts, weighing the gravity of the matter at hand.
"I want to hear from each of you first," Broken said, breaking the stillness.
But no one spoke imdiately. The silence stretched on until Goldrich finally stepped in to break it.
"Broken," he began, "I'm sure everyone here has a lot to say, but it looks like no one wants to go first. So, I'll take the lead."
Broken gave a small nod, signaling him to continue.
"So, Broken... I'm going to speak from my personal perspective, as a mber of the Vensalor Guild," Goldrich began, his voice steady. "We've made a massive contribution to this war. Yes, I know we weren't the only ones to make all of this happen, but let's be honest - we played the biggest role."
Several heads nodded in agreent, acknowledging the truth of his words.
"Even without considering your personal position, we deserve an extraordinary reward from the Kingdom," he continued.
There was a brief pause before Goldrich's expression grew more serious.
"However..." He held his words for a mont. "Since you're now officially married to Princess Alora, I'll say this boldly - you can claim the throne and beco the new ruler."
His statent hung in the air, and a ripple of excitent spread through the room. Everyone seed energized by the thought.
"You could beco the new King - the first player to ever take the throne of Dissidia Kingdom. Together, we could rebuild the Kingdom and make it stronger than ever. And when it cos to funding, you already know you've got people here who will back you up." Broken nodded.
Goldrich continued. "I believe that's the most logical and reasonable solution to this issue," he said confidently.
"However..." He paused for a mont before continuing. "I'm also certain that every decision cos with its own burden."
A brief silence fell over the room as Goldrich stopped speaking.
"That's clearly the only choice. Broken must take the throne," Rember chid in.
All eyes turned toward Rember for a mont, before they slowly shifted back to Broken.
"Will you take the throne, Broken?" Goldrich asked.
Broken offered a faint smile, though his mind was already spinning with countless scenarios. He had been weighing the possible outcos and risks long before this conversation began.
"Thanks for your input, Goldrich," Broken finally responded. "But before I give my answer, I'd like to hear from Maylock first. I want to know all the risks we might face if I decide to take this path."
Maylock gave a faint smile. "You really know who's best suited to take the fall for this, don't you?"
Broken returned the smile.
Freya chid in with a teasing tone. "Didn't you once say that you've gotten used to delivering unpopular opinions, Maylock? This is exactly your role. At least if you're the one proposing this idea, people can bla you for a decision that might end up sounding foolish." Maylock sighed heavily. "Alright, I'll take that risk. After all, I won't be online much, so I can dodge most of the backlash. I'm doing this to protect the honor of my proud Guild Master."
After a brief pause, Maylock continued.
"First, I'll start with the Sword of Dissidia," he began. "No one knows why it didn't appear during the war, why the King never used it, or where it's currently hidden."
He cast a glance at Broken.
"I'll ask Alora for more details about the sword," Broken replied with a nod.
Maylock gave a slow nod before continuing. "In Yunatea, the system of succession has always been tied to those with royal bloodlines. In this case, that's why Princess Alora was nad the crowned princess and the legitimate heir to the throne."
He paused briefly, letting his words sink in before continuing.
"Even so, her status has been controversial. Many opposed her claim to the throne, which led to the formation of factions against her. The reason? She's half-human and half-elf- sothing the more traditionalist factions couldn't accept. And her main rival for the throne was Demian... whom we've already taken down."
Maylock scanned the room, his gaze lingering on each person before he spoke again.
"This kingdom spans vast territories, with many high-ranking nobles holding influence in the cities across the land. We could take the most brutal and bold path - seizing the throne by declaring Broken the new ruler. But make no mistake, that will spark rebellions in multiple
regions."
A tense silence followed as Maylock's words hung in the air. So of the mbers shifted uncomfortably, clearly uneasy with the harsh reality he'd laid out.
"Then just wipe out anyone who opposes us," Rember suggested casually.
"That's certainly the easiest solution," Maylock replied with a smirk.
"I believe it would be a foolish decision if we let the chance slip for Broken to beco the ruler," Rember continued.
"Well, that's exactly why I'm presenting this," Maylock said, leaning back slightly. "I'm laying out the worst-case scenario so everyone here can respond as harshly as they want."
"Keep going, Maylock," Elincia encouraged.
Maylock gave a quick nod and continued. "The real problem is that taking the throne from Princess Alora will likely trigger a prolonged civil war. And considering our status as players - outsiders in this world - it will only increase resistance against us." "But Broken has done more for this kingdom than any of those nobles ever did!" Rember interjected. "Why should their opinions matter when they've contributed
nothing?"
Forev chuckled dryly. "You're surprisingly naïve for soone who's used to dealing with
politics."
"Well, soone's gotta play the opposition, right?" Rember grinned. "Even if I'm making dumb argunts, it's good to have soone push back against Maylock's points."
The tension eased slightly as a few of them chuckled at Rember's playful defiance. But
soon, all eyes turned to Broken once again.
"What about your opinion, Broken?" Maylock asked.
Broken nodded slowly. "I've considered three key factors... but first, thanks for opening up
this topic, Maylock."
Everyone nodded in agreent, leaning in with anticipation. They were ready to hear his
reasoning.
