The battle across the gates of the Capital of Dissidia Kingdom raged on, and hope for a brighter outco seed increasingly distant.
Even as more players arrived to bolster the fight and the Knights spread out to reinforce the frontlines, the sheer numbers of demons were overwhelming. From the fortress walls, troops unleashed powerful ranged attacks, yet it wasn't enough to stem the unrelenting tide of enemies.
Only players whose levels approached or exceeded 200 dared to push deeper into the chaos, where the monsters' strength climbed to terrifying heights. At the forefront were the Vensalor Guild mbers, locked in direct combat with the Nad Demons-an impossible task for most.
At the Western Gate, Optimus fought relentlessly, embodying the perfect balance of speed and strength. He zipped across the battlefield like lightning, delivering punishing blows to any demon that dared to stand in his way. Yet, despite his brutal assault, his strikes barely seed to scratch the imnse defense of his foe, King Balam.
The bull-headed demon, wielding a massive flaming greatsword, stood as an immovable force. His area attacks devastated swathes of players and knights alike, forcing Optimus to constantly dodge while chipping away at the behemoth. But Optimus alone was not enough.
At the Eastern Gate, Goldrich and Jovina were also locked in a fierce struggle. Despite their incredible teamwork and Goldrich's massive Abyss Devourer summon, they couldn't bring down Countess Murmur.
The demoness, with her elegant wings and masterful control of the skies, skillfully evaded the Abyss Devourer's devastating attacks. Her mobility was unmatched, and she used it to her advantage, striking from unexpected angles and keeping her challengers on the defensive.
With each passing mont, the battle across the capital's gates grew more desperate, and the demons seed unstoppable. The Nad Demons stood as unyielding titans, turning even the most valiant efforts into a grueling fight for survival.
"Tora, now tell ," Max said, her eyes fixed on the battlefield screens as she closely monitored the progress. "What's your analysis of the situation at the Western and Eastern Gates?"
"The facts are grim, Max. At the Western Gate, Optimus is struggling to deliver enough damage to pose a real threat to King Balam. That demon's Constitution, Health, and Defense are ridiculously high. Optimus has to constantly balance attacking with avoiding fatal blows -because one serious hit could take him out of the fight entirely."
Max nodded, her expression hardening. "That's a tough pill to swallow, Tora."
Tora continued, his gaze shifting to another screen. "anwhile, at the Eastern Gate, the main issue is Countess Murmur's mobility. She's using it masterfully to outmaneuver her opponents. Goldrich has been doing his best to keep up, but without any natural flying abilities like Elincia's, he's at a significant disadvantage. As for Jovina, even with her aerial summons, only two of them can actually engage Murmur in the air, and they're still not able to deal enough damage to make a difference."
Max rubbed her chin thoughtfully. "So both sides are facing walls they can't seem to break through. The longer this goes on, the worse it'll get."
"Exactly," Tora replied. "And these Nad Demons aren't just walls-they're towers, designed to wear you down until there's nothing left."
At the Eastern Gate, Livelywood and Starfall faced challenges strikingly similar to the other fronts. Duke Alloces, their opponent, was a swordmaster with incredible speed and strength -a perfect matchup against soone like Livelywood, who also relied on physical prowess and swordsmanship.
However, Duke Alloces possessed a significant advantage: the ability to render himself immune to physical attacks for brief but critical monts. This rendered many of Livelywood's strikes ineffective, frustrating the swordsman's attempts to gain the upper hand.
Starfall, anwhile, struggled to provide aningful support. As a versatile mage, her skills leaned more toward crowd control and utility rather than pure offensive magic, limiting her ability to tip the scales in their favor.
At the Northern Gate, Charlyn and Skywarden faced a similarly grueling battle against Marquis Orias. The flying demon utilized his aerial dominance to harass them relentlessly. His spectral lion summons added even more chaos, forcing Skywarden to split his focus between defending himself from the lions and maintaining his ground against Orias's ranged attacks.
"But Max," Tora said as he analyzed the situation, "if I may be blunt, a single Nad Demon should ideally be confronted by a much larger team. Trying to handle them with just a few players is practically suicidal."
Max frowned but countered, "But Tora, there are so many players on the battlefield. Can't they all converge on the Nad Demons and overwhelm them with sheer numbers?"
Tora shook his head. "First, most of those players are focused on defending the city walls from the demon horde. If they leave their posts, the walls will collapse, and the capital will be overrun."
He paused before adding, "Second, many of those players aren't at a high enough level to handle a Nad Demon. Sending them in would be pointless-they'd be slaughtered in seconds, and all they'd accomplish is adding more chaos to the fight."
"So, it's a deadlock. Every front is stuck against opponents they can't handle, and reinforcents can't make it to them without jeopardizing the city's defenses."
Tora and Max kept their eyes glued to the various screens, monitoring the intense battles at each gate.
The chatter from viewers watching the live broadcast filled the air, their comnts drenched
in despair.
"It's over!"
"Dissidia Capital is dood!"
"There's no way they can hold out any longer!"
This was the first ti many had seen the terrifying power of Nad Demons-even those ranked in the 50s were proving nearly invincible. The sheer destructive potential of these monsters was undeniable. It beca abundantly clear why higher-ranked Nad Demons were said to be capable of obliterating entire cities with ease.
At the Western Gate, Optimus began to show signs of exhaustion. His resources were nearly depleted, and Toberry and Trison were barely holding on themselves, overwheld by the relentless swarm of demons.
Then...
It happened!
A massive object shot across the battlefield like a blur, spinning violently.
It collided with King Balam's face with such devastating force that the demon staggered
backward, his massive greatsword missing Optimus by re inches.
The shockwave of the impact silenced the battlefield montarily, and Max and Tora sat up
straight, their attention locked onto the screen.
"Tora! Are you thinking what I'm thinking?!" Max exclaid.
"Yes, Max. Yes! They've arrived!"
Suddenly, a figure descended in front of King Balam, cutting through the chaos with an imposing presence. A woman with blonde hair, clad in gleaming heavy armor, appeared. Without hesitation, she launched herself toward the massive demon, her shield in hand. With relentless force, she began hamring blow after blow into King Balam's massive fra.
"Ivana has arrived, Max!" Tora exclaid.
"Ivana! Our Shield Maiden!"
They quickly shifted their focus to the Eastern Gate, where Goldrich and Jovina were still
struggling to catch up to Countess Murmur.
But before they could act, the demoness was suddenly bombarded by a series of precise, devastating shots from an unexpected angle. The force of the attacks threw Countess Murmur off balance, her movents in the air growing erratic.
High above the fortress walls, a figure stood with her sniper rifle aid directly at the
demoness.
"lliandra!" Max gasped.
"She's arrived too!" Tora confird.
At the Northern Gate, where Charlyn and Skywarden were desperately battling Marquis
Orias, a shadow suddenly swept across the sky.
Out of nowhere, a massive hawk-like creature descended with monstrous force, colliding directly with Orias. The impact sent the demon staggering back.
"Kingsley in his beast form!" Max exclaid.
"Kingsley and lliandra are here!" Tora added.
But Max squinted at the creature in the air. "Wait, Tora, why does this feel like the first ti
I'm seeing Kingsley in this form?"
"Because it is, Max. This is his new form-The Armored Sky Sovereign." Kingsley's hawk form wasn't just avian-it had humanoid elents. Its massive wings were
reinforced with gleaming, armored plates, and its sleek body was encased in dark, enchanted
armor.
"What is that?!" Max gasped.
Tora's grin widened. "It's Kingsley's new form-upgraded from his new class. They call this evolution 'The Armored Sky Sovereign.""
"An upgraded class?!" Max's eyes lit up. "I can't wait to see how he demonstrates this
power!"
"You will, Max," Tora said, though his tone quickly turned serious. "But we should also check on the Southern Gate. Things could be just as critical there."
Max nodded, already switching her focus to the next screen. "Let's go. The fight isn't over
yet."
[lliandra - Epic Void Sharpshooter]
[Kingsley - Epic Primal Beastmaster]
Both lliandra and Kingsley had also acquired Epic-grade classes, solidifying their status as
formidable forces on the battlefield.
At the Southern Gate!
Elincia hovered in the air, her form glowing faintly as she continuously cast magic attacks, hurling bolts of energy down at their target-Duke Alloces.
The demon roared in frustration, repeatedly attempting to close the distance and strike her, but Livelywood worked tirelessly to keep him grounded. The swordsman darted around the battlefield, using precise strikes and sheer determination to force the Duke to stay focused on
him.
The tide of battle seed to shift. Hope glimred on the horizon, as their combined efforts finally began to show results.
Yet, despite this progress, a lingering question weighed heavily on everyone's minds.
Where was the King?
And more importantly, where were his Imperial Knights?
These were the forces the kingdom relied on in tis of crisis, and their absence in the face of
such overwhelming demon forces was both troubling and mystifying.
For now, everyone fought on, holding the line with everything they had. But the unanswered
question lood like a shadow over the battlefield, threatening to overshadow even the small victories they were clawing out.
When even victory itself could not be guaranteed. Would this truly be the end of Dissidia Kingdom?
