"Do you know anything about the Demons?" Iveth asked.
"Demons? Yeah, I've heard of them," Broken replied, deliberately vague, despite having fought and defeated two Nad Demons himself.
Iveth let out a frustrated click of her tongue. "We have reason to believe there's been movents near the capital. Possibly so portals used to summon demons."
This was exactly what Maylock, Elincia, and the others had warned about: the threat of the demon's assault on the capital.
"You're saying there might be an attack soon?" Iveth gave a slow nod. "We can't afford to let Lady Aerin return to the capital. It would be too dangerous for her."
"Do you know where these portals are? Or when the attack might happen?"
Iveth shook her head. "Not exactly. There could be more than just a few portals. We've destroyed the ones we've found so far, but I don't know how many more are out there," she admitted.
The recent event experience point boost organized by Golden Age Company across multiple capitals in various regions has raised suspicions that sothing significant is on the horizon.
From the way the developers have handled it, it's clear that this is tied to the main storyline of Immortal Legacy. It's a stark contrast to the chaotic attack on Deadbay City so ti ago—a situation that had caused enough panic to prompt the developers to take unusual asures, including temporarily allowing players who had run out of playti to log back in.
anwhile, Broken relayed his conversation with Iveth to the Guild Chat.
"Who's currently in the capital?" he asked urgently.
"Almost everyone except lliandra and Kingsley is at the capital, Broken," Elincia replied. "Only Ivana and I are still in Deadbay City."
Broken and Iveth's conversation deepened.
"Why weren't we told about this from the start?" Broken pressed.
Iveth sighed. "Lady Aerin refused to listen when we tried to explain. We had no other option but to take drastic asures. Now that she's back in the Capital, it seems we'll have to forcibly take her again."
"But how do you intend to pull that off when she's in the palace itself? The guards won't just stand by and let you take her."
"We'll figure it out. Her safety and well-being are more important than anything else right now," she said firmly.
Broken couldn't help but draw a connection to his own actions not long ago. He had taken Alora from the Forest Elves' village—an act that weighed heavily on him, but one he believed necessary. The Elves hadn't been transparent about their intentions, leaving him no choice but to act on instinct and duty.
Now, with danger looming over the Capital, he felt the sa urgency. "We need to go to the capital right away. There's no ti to waste."
"How can we trust the palace?" Iveth demanded. "What if they're complicit in all this? I have no faith in royalty or their so-called intentions."
Broken t her gaze steadily. "I understand your doubts," he said. "But right now, our priority has to be protecting Princess Alora and stopping this attack. If betrayal cos, we'll deal with it then."
He added, "I'm heading to the Capital imdiately. Be prepared in case the attack happens soon."
Iveth nodded slowly. "I'll follow with a few Elven knights once they arrive."
With that, Iveth and two other Elves departed from Slumdon, explaining that they needed to regroup with the rest of the Elven knights before making their way to the Capital.
Broken also prepared to leave, but before departing, he ensured that Slumdon Town would be secure. Orion, Igor, and Cedric were assigned to stay behind and defend it, while Elowen and Mira had already been sent ahead to the Capital on his orders.
Additionally, Kingsley and lliandra had already departed ahead of him as well.
With one last glance at the town he was leaving behind, Broken commanded Beebot to move. The crawling carriage sprang to life, its five pairs of legs propelling it swiftly across the desert terrain.
But as he continued on, the reality Iveth had warned about earlier finally reached him.
Guild chat exploded with activity, filled with frantic ssages and alerts. The internet was buzzing with live streams and breaking updates.
Dissidia Kingdom's Capital City was about to face its longest night.
The reports were clear—this wasn't a small-scale attack. It was massive, a devastating assault with the potential to completely obliterate the Capital City of the Dissidia Kingdom.
***
The capital city of Dissidia was consud by chaos, its streets flooded with panicked crowds moving in frantic waves. At the towering gates, players had gathered in staggering numbers, their presence both a show of force and a reflection of rising desperation.
In the distance, the fabric of reality seed to fracture. Portals tore open one after another, each one vomiting forth nightmarish creatures.
Colossal monster with jagged claws and fangs sharp enough to rend steel charged forward, shaking the ground with each step. Above, winged abominations with leathery appendages and talons like serrated blades swooped through the skies, their shrieks cutting through the din of chaos.
The torrent of twisted horrors was unending—so grotesquely disfigured, others so alien in form they seed plucked from a realm of pure madness. The once-brilliant sky dimd under the weight of gathering storm clouds, a tempest of shadow brewing and darkening with each new portal that tore through the air.
"What's happening here? Is this so kind of ergency event?"
"It's a monster invasion! This is insane!" another yelled. "We need to warn everyone—this looks like it's turning into an all-out war!"
Trumpets rang out across the city. Knights and soldiers raced into defensive formations, sprinting toward the fortress walls. But the sheer magnitude of the invasion was beyond anything the kingdom had ever anticipated. Within minutes, live broadcasts from Dissidia's capital spread across the Internet. This attack made the assault on Deadbay City seem trivial by comparison—this ti, the very heart of the kingdom was under siege, and no one wanted to miss the unfolding spectacle.
"Why does this stuff always happen in Dissidia?" one player grumbled. "I'm seriously thinking about switching kingdoms."
"Are you kidding ?" another shot back. "This is the Capital! There's bound to be even more top-tier players here. The fights are going to be incredible!"
"Do you think this attack is part of so plan to overthrow the kingdom? The rumors have been saying sothing like that."
"Could this be the work of the Champions of Gluttony?" soone else asked.
The city trembled under the weight of the invasion, but the anticipation of battle coursed through the crowd like a current. For better or worse, the players were ready to fight.
[Elincia]: "Can you all hold out until at least Ivana, Broken, and I arrive?"
[Goldrich]: "Khi khi khi, I'm sure this will be an entertaining distraction for this retired old man."
[Skywarden]: "Keh! I'll obliterate them with my shield!"
[Livelywood]: "Oh yeah… finally, I'm not missing out on a big war."
[Trison]: "Oh, another war? Ha hah… I'm thrilled."
[Starfall]: "Everything's good. I've already asked my manager to adjust my schedule."
[Kingsley]: "lliandra and I are already on our way. Broken is following behind us."
