Ti seed to have stopped as Kael’s group stood rooted to the ground. They wanted to move, but their entire being was filled with terror.

The only exception was Kael, but even he was affected by the woman’s presence. He clenched his fists tightly but didn’t do anything reckless.

He just stared at the strange woman and observed her.

She sat with a calm, almost lazy elegance—legs crossed, back slightly arched as if daring anyone to speak out of line. Her long, violet-black hair spilled over her shoulders like ink in water, a few rebellious strands falling across her face.

One eye stayed hidden behind her side-swept bangs, while the other, sharp and violet like a blade dipped in starlight, stared with quiet authority behind sleek glasses.

A cigarette hung loosely between her lips—not lit, just sothing to chew on while she sized up the area like she owned it.

And maybe she did.

Her outfit was pure dominance in fabric form. A glossy black jacket hugged her shoulders, paired with a tight, high-waisted skirt that shimred with every subtle shift of her hips. The white blouse beneath was laced at the collar, modest in design but not in intent, and a deep purple tie hung perfectly centered down her chest.

Her legs, long and wrapped in sheer black stockings, were marked with a crimson-black tattoo on one thigh—a symbol of power, maybe a warning. And on her feet, polished black heels.

She was perhaps the most beautiful woman Kael had ever seen, but that wasn’t the reason why he had stopped in his tracks.

It was her sheer presence that scread sothing at him.

[She is a Demi-God, Master.]

’I know,’ Kael thought. ’Did the Churches act so quickly? That should be impossible... Actually no, she’s a Demi-God, so she can travel through the Astral World.’

He released the tension building inside him and took a step forward. He had faced many powerful enemies in his past life, enemies with power to crush him like a fly, but those situations taught him one good lesson.

If a powerful being wasn’t killing you instantly when they easily could, then it ant they were willing to talk. And if it was just talking, Kael had so confidence in handling that.

Just when he was going to speak, Kiona broke out of her reverie and jumped in front of him. She eyed the woman and whispered, "Master, she’s dangerous. I’ll try to stall for so ti, so please escape."

Kael looked at her trembling form and sighed, ’Silly girl.’

He patted her head, making her calm a little, and said, "Thanks, but step aside. Let do the talking. She doesn’t seem like she’ll kill us—not yet, at least."

Kiona was still unwilling to let her master get close to this woman, but she had no choice under his command. It didn’t help that she was feeling fear from the bottom of her heart. It was the primal kind of fear.

All this while, the woman just sat there, looking at him with a strange expression on her face.

"Who are you?" Kael started with the most basic and classic question.

"I don’t know," the woman spoke in a clear, calm voice, as if nothing could shake her serene heart.

Kael frowned and asked, "Then why do you want to kill us?"

"I want to kill you?" The woman blinked in confusion.

For a mont, Kael thought the woman was mocking them, but there was genuine confusion in her eyes, which made him confused instead.

Then, the woman seed to have realized sothing and picked up a sheathed katana. Instantly, the powerful, suffocating aura vanished, and even her presence returned to normal.

Now, she was no different from them.

She raised her head and said, "I apologize. I didn’t realize what I was doing."

’What do you think, Alpha?’ Kael asked, shifting his gaze toward the katana. He felt a familiar sensation from it but couldn’t quite place it.

[She seems like a genuine person, Master. I don’t detect any malicious intent from her. The only thing I’ve sensed is her curiosity and it’s targeted at you.]

’Seems like she’s not from the churches, at least,’ Kael took a deep breath and asked, "So, we can leave if we want?"

"Of course," the woman nodded, as if she were stating sothing very obvious.

Kael opened his mouth and then closed it, too speechless by her behavior. What kind of Demi-God behaved like this? Was sothing wrong with her brain?

Even though he had gotten the "permission" to leave, Kael stood his ground and asked, "Then, if I may ask, why are you here?"

"You."

Kael was once again left speechless by her strange way of conversing, but he didn’t give up so easily. He smiled and asked, "I’m pretty sure we are eting for the first ti, so why are you here for ?"

The woman stayed silent for a mont, staring at him—or rather, at his being—and said, "You have a familiar sll and aura. I sensed it and ca here."

"Uh, as I said, we are eting for the first ti. So how can I be familiar to you?" Kael asked in confusion.

The woman stood up and ca toward him. Her one eye locked onto him as she sniffed near him, and Kael could swear he heard growling behind him.

"I am sure," the woman nodded. "Do you know ?"

’What kind of question is that? Don’t you rember... oh wait!’

Sothing clicked in his mind as he asked, "You don’t rember anything?"

"My mory is hazy and incomplete," the woman tilted her head slightly and said calmly. "My sword sotis helps keep track of things, but I have forgotten most of my life."

She looked down at her sword and said, "I’ve been wandering across different worlds for any clues, but I seem to forget even my life on those worlds. But I’m sure of one thing."

She pointed at him and added, "I have never felt familiarity with anything. This is the first ti, so can you tell about ?"

Kael just stared at her and realized she wasn’t lying. She really had lost her mories.

’Dogshit!’

mory loss for a Demi-God only happened in three situations, as they had incredibly powerful souls.

In the first case, the individual themselves sealed their mories or cut them off for various reasons. It wasn’t an easy task—it required delicate soul control.

In the second case, it was done by a True God.

And lastly, it could happen after death—if they turned into an evil spirit.

’Third is out of the question. And since this seems to be a recurring problem, and she also gets so help from her sword, then it must be a seal... or maybe a curse. A curse from a Deity?’

Kael felt a chill throughout his body as he pondered the woman’s origin. A possibility rose in his mind that shook his heart.

’The God couldn’t kill her, so they were forced to place this curse on her so she wouldn’t rember her life... Who the hell is she? And why the hell does she feel familiar to ?’
