Kael knew that the speed of a Flaclaw Lion was really high, but only now he experienced their true speed. Previously, they had been running in dense forests with their huge bodies, which restricted them a lot but now, things were different.

There was nothing but a straight plain, a hilly area with only a few monsters as obstruction. The twins bulldozed through everything and led the two of them adjacent to the wall that shared the entrance.

After a few minutes of running, they finally reached the top of a small hill and stopped before a much larger hill. There were two of them, and both were connected to the smaller hill of Blackstones.

There was a long fissure in the union of the two hills, and Kael could feel his instincts tingling at him of the danger there. When they got closer, he sensed a total of six monsters inside.

He jumped off the lion’s back and approached the fissure. His instincts flared up all of a sudden, as he quickly jumped back—just in ti to avoid a sharp pincer almost piercing his chest.

A big spider with obsidian carapace stood before him at the sa height, looking at him with its weird eyes and ready to lunge at him once again.

"They are better than the skeletons," Kael muttered. "But weak nonetheless."

He kicked off the ground, throwing himself right before the spider. Two of its eight legs that were deadly as spears shot at him, but he skillfully dodged them and sliced its underside with his claws.

Dark matter burst out of its belly, as Kael then proceeded to cut into its deeper parts.

He could already solo E-Rank beasts when he was just F-Rank, so now that he had advanced to E-Rank, his speed alone was enough to blitz the enemies.

As the spider crumbled into ashes, Kael jumped back to his original position to avoid the attacks from other spiders.

All of this happened so fast that the lions were just getting ready to attack when Kael already backed away. He then looked at the fissure with a frown on his face.

’Sothing is not right with them,’ he thought. ’They didn’t feel like normal monsters.’

[I sensed corrupted powers in them, so I can guess. They are probably Threalings of Nyraxx.]

’So there’s a mother spider instead of a spawner?’ Kael thought. ’Then, this will be fun.’

His original plan was to leave the spawner to the twins so they could use it to rank up to D-Rank, but it seed that would be dangerous.

A being capable of birthing so many E-Rank underlings would definitely be at at least C-Rank, and a Corrupted one at that, so he didn’t think it was a good idea anymore.

"Seth, Jon, make a way for to go inside. Kiona, get ready to blast them off quickly ’cuz we might be dealing with sothing dangerous."

The three of them nodded and the twins rushed inside the fissure, finding themselves surrounded by many Threalings.

They growled and used their big bodies to clear the way for their master, as Kiona ca from behind them and lit up the whole fissure in crimson flas.

In one attack, she cleared away all the spiders and landed gracefully on top of Jon. She looked around and found that there was still one more remaining.

"It must have respawned," Kael said, landing beside her. "Ignore it. We are going deeper into their lair."

The space around them was narrow and led to an underground cave, so Kael took the lead sitting on top of Seth. His body crackled with lightning, as he was ready to intercept any attack that might co their way.

Kiona’s fire was keeping the surroundings illuminated, as they delved deeper into the underground cave full of dark rocks that Kael didn’t know.

Soon, they found another Threaling coming out of the other end, who they quickly finished off. It also confird Kael’s guess that there was a mother spider here.

He knew a few things about Nyraxx, they were a race of spiders also known as Abyssal Weavers for their terrifying abilities with their webs.

The web they released absorbed light, energy, and even so of the weaker spells. Once caught in their web, one would slowly lose their sanity as the web whispered illusions.

They were deadly predators, so even a rchant’s son like Mike knew about them. After all, they were told to run the mont they saw a Nyraxx because they stood no chance against them.

A C-Rank Nyraxx would be a terrifying enemy, so he quickly shared his knowledge with the other three. Though, they just needed to be told that they were dealing with Nyraxx for them to get serious.

They knew about the horrifying powers of the Abyssal Weavers more than a rchant’s son like him.

Soon, they had to stop when they heard clattering sounds from the cave deeper ahead. Their muscles tensed up as they slowed down their pace and readied their skills.

All of a sudden, half a dozen Threalings rushed at them, but they were swiftly dealt with by Kiona’s fire. She was a true D-Rank beast now, so it was a small matter for her.

’Fortunately they are just mindless monsters and also don’t have their mother’s threads,’ Kael thought as he jumped down from Seth’s back and slowly moved inside.

He didn’t sense any presence aside from the Threalings, but he assud it was because the Nyraxx was powerful and could avoid his detection.

He could have run away, but he knew he could slay her with the help of his subordinates, and Soul Power from a C-Rank monster would help him a lot.

After a mont of silent walk, Kael stopped and raised his head, only to summon his [Draconic Claws] and prepare to use his most powerful skills.

Before him was a gigantic body of an obsidian spider.

A true Nyraxx.

However, there was sothing weird about her.

[She’s dead.]

’Huh?’ Kael was surprised, and upon looking closely, he realised that he still couldn’t sense any signs of life from her.

After he was sure that she was dead, he invited his team inside as they laid their eyes on a true Nyraxx for the first ti in their life.

Nyraxx was a massive, night-black spider the size of a small house. Her obsidian carapace was covered in thorn-like protrusions that shimred with unnatural slickness.

Her eight legs were long, segnted like scythes, with hook-like claws that clicked ominously as the Threalings got out of her body.

Instead of eyes, she had glowing crimson runes etched into her forehead, pulsing even after her death.

Her abdon was bloated and covered in twitching spinnerets capable of spewing webbing. Occasionally, her back burst open to birth swarms of smaller spiderlings known as Threalings.

Like before, Kiona swiftly dealt with the Threalings and looked in awe at the Abyssal Weaver.

"They truly live up to their na," she muttered. "Even now I can feel her terrifying aura."

"That’s mostly because she was corrupted before her death," Kael said, clicking his tongue.

He had sensed sothing familiar in her and recognised it as his beloved enemy.

The corruption of Apocalypse.
