Rahman's words were spoken with righteousness and determination, earning admiration from others.
"Rahman, your sense of duty is comndable!" the others praised.
"Since there are no objections, you should all go back and prepare. Rahman and I will go to unseal and retrieve the Heart of Thunder. Tonight at eight, we will have a decisive confrontation with Iskandar!" Adam Shah declared.
"Understood!" the other council mbers responded in agreent.
Imdiately, everyone began to move towards the door, preparing to take action. However, before anyone could leave, a voice ca from the entrance.
"The family head is here..."
The guard at the door announced loudly.
What? Iskandar is here?
Hearing this, everyone was shocked and puzzled as to why Iskandar would suddenly arrive. Instantly, their hearts were filled with suspicion and unease.
While everyone was montarily at a loss, Iskandar had already opened the door and entered.
"Dad, uncles, why do you all seem uneasy? Could it be that you're not pleased to see ?" Iskandar asked with a smile.
Although his tone was calm, to Rahman and the others, Iskandar's words were chilling. Iskandar's ruthless thods in recent days had already cast a shadow over everyone. The council mbers, filled with trepidation, greeted, "Greetings, family head!"
Even Rahman hurriedly paid his respects. After all, Iskandar was now the powerful family head, and as his biological father, Rahman dared not overstep.
"No need for formalities, please be seated," Iskandar said, nodding slightly before sitting confidently at the head of the table.
Accompanying him was Fazira, who stood behind him with her sword, exuding a sharp and formidable aura. Fazira's gaze was straight ahead, ignoring everyone present.
She understood well that as soone aligned with her second cousin, it was best to maintain a clear distance from the Shah Family leadership.
Fazira's deanor left the family elders feeling quite disheartened. They vividly recalled how, just a few days ago, Fazira had warmly greeted them as uncles, displaying great affection.
But now, due to the issue with the Earth Mother Goddess, everything had changed... Rahman and the council mbers shook their heads slightly and nervously took their seats around Iskandar. Once everyone was seated, Iskandar picked up his teacup, took a small sip, and smiled.
"Is today a special occasion? Why is everyone gathered at my father's place? Is there sothing going on?"
Though his tone was mild, it sent a shiver through everyone.
"Oh, nothing, nothing, Iskandar. You see, I've retired and had nothing to do at ho, so I invited a few uncles over for a chat," Rahman quickly explained.
"Yes, family head, we've worked together for many years and have developed a bond. With nothing else to do today, we decided to visit your father."
"Indeed, we're old now, and all we can do is drink tea and chat together," a few council mbers chid in. Hearing this, Iskandar shook his head.
After scanning the room, he remarked with a hint of amusent, "Why did I hear that you were gathered here, discussing important family matters without authorization?"
At his words, one of the council mbers trembled and accidentally knocked over a teacup.
Crash!
The teacup hit the floor, shattering with a sharp noise. The room suddenly fell silent.
"Third Council mber, why are you so nervous?" Iskandar's gaze fixed on the council mber who had broken the teacup.
Upon hearing this, cold sweat began to trickle down the Third Council mber's face. How should he respond? We can't exactly say we're discussing how to get rid of you!
"I, we..."
The Third Council mber stamred.
"What do you an 'I'? Speak truthfully! You know that deceiving the family head is an unpardonable cri," Iskandar suddenly spoke sternly.
Upon hearing this, the Third Council mber imdiately knelt on the ground. Aside from First Council mber Adam Shah and Rahman, the other council mbers also knelt down, protesting their innocence.
Although they harbored thoughts of eliminating Iskandar, they needed the Heart of Thunder to do so. Since they hadn't obtained the Heart of Thunder yet, they dared not reveal their intentions. Upon hearing their pleas, Iskandar smiled.
"To be honest, you are all my elders, so why are you so afraid of ? I ca here because I heard you were gathering, so I decided to drop by casually. I didn't expect to find my father and all of you here."
"This works out well; I don't have to go around reminding each of you individually."
"What I want to say is simple. In the future, let's avoid such gatherings. You're all getting on in years; wouldn't it be better to spend ti quietly tending to flowers and plants?"
Hearing his words, Rahman, Adam Shah, and the others realized why Iskandar had suddenly visited. It turned out that their unauthorized gathering had aroused Iskandar's suspicions.
How did we overlook this detail? The seasoned elders, including Rahman, all silently chided themselves for their oversight.
"My dear elders, I am busy and don't have much ti to talk. You just need to rember one thing."
"And that is, life is not easy, so learn to cherish it!"
After speaking, Iskandar pretended to brush so dust off his father's clothing and then turned and left directly. Fazira followed him out quickly.
Once they had left, the group of council mbers collapsed to the ground in relief, expressing their gratitude for the reprieve.
"Fazira, I have a feeling they're hiding sothing from . Take a few people and follow them," Iskandar instructed as they walked.
"Understood!"
Upon hearing this, Fazira vanished in a flash. Having upgraded to a Silver Level 8 expert, Fazira's agility had significantly improved, almost reaching a level of stealth that left no trace. In Rahman's courtyard, the family elders were still reeling from the fright they had just experienced.
"Rahman, should we continue with the plan?" one council mber, seemingly wavering, asked nervously.
"We proceed with the plan. The future of the family depend on tonight," Rahman asserted.
