"What would you say if I told you that I could give you the ability to move?" Elias asked the ego, who still didn't know his true identity or abilities.
Elias knew that the chances of extraction were low, even if not non-existent. If he failed, the ego would be destroyed, and so would his hope, for now.
The sword didn't simply have an ego; it was an ego that had known Aliath. Its value was beyond that of a simple ego. Still, he knew that he had to do it. He didn't have any room to feel regret or guilt about it.
"If only." The Ego didn't sound particularly enthusiastic, as it knew the reality. It was an ego. Even if it had intelligence, it wasn't truly alive.
Elias stepped back with the sword, getting away from the fighter jet so as not to get it caught in the storm that was going to be born during extraction.
"I have an ability that allows to extract things and rge them with other things. What if I said I'm going to extract your ego and rge it with that plane? If I'm successful, you can not only move to a certain extent but even soar through the sky."
"You can do it?" the ego asked, sounding like it was still finding it hard to believe. What kind of absurd ability was this? Even the greatest of blacksmiths couldn't move an ego from one weapon to another, as egos were born within the weapon itself.
"I can do it," Elias told the ego, but he still hid so things. He wasn't outright honest about the risks involved. If he failed, the ego might disappear forever.
"Do it! Yes, do it right now! I want to move!" The ego exclaid in excitent, but just as suddenly, it changed its tune. "No, don't do that! What if my master doesn't recognize when we return to him? I don't want to be forgotten by my master."
"My master must be waiting for . What if he finds that big chunk of tal ugly? I am fine the way I am."
The ego sounded like it was sad as it rejected the proposal that might allow it to have so semblance of life. But its loyalty to Aliath was higher than its greed for life.
"I don't think you have to worry about that. Aliath isn't waiting for you," Elias said, looking at the sword which still didn't know the truth about its master. It still wanted to return to him, despite so many years having passed.
"How do you know that he isn't waiting for ? You're lying. My master can never forget !" The sword proudly stated, even sounding sowhat angry as it started buzzing.
Elias did not argue back. He simply brought the insignia of the Asbborn Family that he was carrying with him. He showed the insignia to the sword and asked, "Do you recognise it?"
"That?! Why do you have it? How are you related to that family?" The sword started buzzing even more violently, as if its mind was truly shaken at the sight of the insignia, especially since its master also carried sothing like that.
It was the Insignia that was different from the normal insignia of the Ashborn Family. It had a different shape and color, being made from the true unbreakable obsidian. It was sothing that was only given to the direct descendants of the Asbborn Family.
"My na is Elias Ashborn," Elias answered, before keeping the insignia back in his pocket. "I'm the youngest brother of your master."
"Elias...?" The ego seed to be sowhat lost as it heard the na.
The ego had forgotten many of its mories throughout the ti, but it hadn't forgotten one particular mory. And it was the mory where it had heard this na.
"Why did you say that my master isn't waiting for ?" The ego asked, its voice sounding much weaker in Elias's mind.
If it was said by soone else, then it might have thought that they were lying. But if this person was truly Elias, then it was different.
"Aliath disappeared a long ti ago. It's been largely believed that he is already dead. In this situation, I don't think he has ti to wait for you," Elias said, but he didn't stop there.
"That's impossible! He can't be dead! Anyone can die in this world, but not my master!" The sword buzzed so violently that Elias had to struggle to even control it.
Elias knew that he had to calm the sword. He needed that ego to work with him, especially since he had no particular ability to control it.
"I believe you! I also believe that my brother can't die. He must be trapped in so place. That's why, I want to save him! But for that, I need more strength. That's why I entered this Academy, and if you help , we might be able to find him!"
The ego was absolutely loyal to his eldest brother, to a crazy extent. It was the biggest flaw of this ego. If he wanted to control this ego, he could only play around that flaw.
If it wanted to believe that his brother was alive, then he had to make it believe that. He had to convince the sword that they could find his brother, no matter how long it took.
"That's right! My master must be trapped sowhere! We can find him!" The ego exclaid. Even though it was still sowhat fierce, it seed to be calming down a bit.
"I promise that I will find my brother. It might take a long ti, but I won't give up. But for that, I need you to support . So, will you?" Elias asked the ego.
It was a promise that he intended to keep, but only when he was strong enough to fulfill it. By then, he might have many such egos, so it didn't matter if he returned this one to his eldest brother. However, he didn't think that his brother was actually alive. If he was, the Ashborn Family would've found him already.
The sword was silent, still unable to forget the mories in which it had heard Elias's na. This boy used to be just a child who was just born.
That mory was also the most significant and unforgettable for it, because it was the first mory in which it had seen its master smile so bright.
After a brief mont of silence, it said, "I will do anything you need. Even if you ask for my entire existence, I'm willing to sacrifice it."
"Then I'm about to begin." Elias had received a confirmation from the ego. He didn't waste a single second, and said, "Confirm Extraction."
