The other high-grade soul beasts had also noticed that the barrier had disappeared. Without a second of delay, they started flying towards the portal, not a single soul beast deciding to stay behind.

Elias had overestimated the intelligence of the soul beasts. Or rather, he forgot to consider the consequences that being trapped for hundreds of years would have on the minds of these soul beasts.

At that point, they weren't thinking about what kind of existence they would find beyond the portal. They simply wanted to leave, grasping for even a fleeting hope of freedom.

Amidst that group was Lycorice, who was being taken to the portal by the old man. The two of them intentionally traveled a little slower to let other soul beasts reach the portal first, intending to use them as distractions while they rushed out.

Unaware about the chaos that he had caused inside the Land of Fables, Elias had already left the corridor. He wasn't even sure where the others from his class were supposed to be, as he was completely lost even if he had returned.

He took the sa route in reverse, and reached the exit of the Building which was still missing the door that had been destroyed by the professor. Along the way, he saw many doors but none of those doors opened to him.

He could break those doors through extraction, but he didn't think they were ant to be opened by him in the first place. He didn't even know what was behind those doors.

He simply stepped out of the building, wanting to have nothing to do with the Destruction of the land of fables. Fortunately, on his way back, he didn't co across anyone else either, as the hallway was completely desolate.

It was only after he stepped out of the building that he finally saw soone. There was a woman in the distance, sitting on a chair comfortably. Next to her, there were two youngsters that were working on fixing the main gate of the building.

Elias approached the girl, who seed to be imrsed in reading a book, to not even register soone approaching her.

"Senior?" Elias called out to the girl in third year that was punished by Professor Grey to repair the door. However, it was clear that she had already dumped the work to the second year students.

"Hmm?" The woman lowered the book of alchemy, and looked towards the source of the voice.

"Aren't you the junior that was being escorted by that cranky old ma- cough, I an by Professor Grey?" She straightened her back, observing the child that seed like he had returned from so warzone.

His hands were covered in blood. There were even so traces of blood on his face, but it was minor.

She brought out a small vial from her pocket, and tossed the liquid on Elias' face and the remaining drops on her hand. The liquid worked miraculously and healed his wounds, and even erased any pain.

"Are you just returning from the Land of Fables?" asked the girl after keeping the empty vial back in her storage ring. "Just how bad were you beaten there to co out bleeding?"

"It was just an accident." Elias smiled, being sowhat honest as this was indeed an unexpected accident for him. "I was a little lost. By the ti I realised it, the professor and others had already left. Can you tell where they might be?"

The woman looked at Elias, her gaze slightly softening. She placed her hand on his shoulder, and said, "You don't have to lie. He intentionally left you behind, right? Even after all that, you're still trying to protect him. You do have so loyalty. Not bad."

Elias could see that the girl had a clear misunderstanding, believing that the Professor had left him behind in the corridor since he didn't like him. He didn't try to clear the misunderstanding either, since it worked in his favor in the end.

He simply lowered his head, hiding his eyes and asked, "Can you tell where they went? I don't want to miss the next class."

"As far as I know, there won't be any next class for today. The others were lost, probably taken back to their residence by the Professor. He most probably took a shortcut and left you behind."

"Where might I find my residence?" Elias asked the girl, who seed quite helpful, despite being sowhat lazy.

He didn't notice the strange gazes of the two youngsters that were fixing the door.

They were looking at him with jealousy, wondering why the girl was like a bully before them, but talking so nicely to him? Was this the privilege that newbies received from third years?

"It will be quite far if you want to walk there. Even the closest portal leading to the quarter is at least a few miles away. You will only reach there by evening."

"It is fine. I can walk a little." As the girl treated him nicely, he also behaved nicely, having experience of talking to his seniors back on earth.

For the first ti since coming to this academy, he was having a conversation with soone that seed normal. However, even he understood that it was probably not all there was to this woman.

If she had beco a third year student of the destroyer class at this academy, then she was far from ordinary. She might have more blood on her hand than even him.

Despite that, she was like a completely normal person here, not a sight that she would have shown during practicals or battles.

"Even if I tell you, you might be lost. I will send soone to guide you, little one."

She looked back at the two youngsters that had almost finished repairing the door. "You, guide this friend to the residences of the first years."

"But I just..." The long haired boy looked in disbelief. She had almost finished repairing this door and all that was left was to fix it in place. After that, he could return. And now he was being told to guide soone tens of miles away?

"Do you have sothing to say?" the girl narrowed her gaze.

"Not at all. It's my luck to help a junior brother." The up dropped the hamr and stood up. He told Elias to follow him, and turned away, hiding his lips that were twitching in frustration.

'You want to guide him? Do you think I am your slave? Fine! I will make sure to guide him real well…'
