Chapter 88: Mars Revolutionary Army

Translator: Lordbluefire Editor: Lordbluefire

Feng Lin had a look of astonishnt on his face. He didn’t expect that as the long-robed man explained, he would suddenly issue an invitation for him to join the so-called Mars Revolutionary Army.

But he had to apologize. It was impossible for him to join this organization.

There were many reasons behind his decision.

The most important thing was that he had never heard of such power nad the Mars Revolutionary Army in the solar system before. Also, it was clear that this was a secret underground organization after thinking about it a little. It wouldn’t be able to co out in the light, or the Solar System Coalition Governnt might even issue arrest warrants against the mbers of the Mars Revolutionary Army.

Feng Lin had no wish to join this. If he did so, wouldn’t he beco a mouse that could only hide underground, always hiding from a human that could live out in the open?

Although he respected their choices, different people ultimately had their own paths to walk. With regards to the invitation by this long-robed man, Feng Lin could only politely decline as he decisively shook his head.

“My apologies. I won’t say anything to anyone else with regards to matters about your Mars Revolutionary Army, but it’s impossible for to join it. Your grudge with the Giant Pharmaceutical Company has nothing to do with !”

He was rely an outsider, why was there a need for him to be embroiled in a dispute on Mars? All of this had nothing to do with him.

A wise man looks after his own hide!

In any case, Feng Lin didn’t really think highly of them.

The solar system was a chaotic star region. The law and order were naturally in chaos here, created in vain as though they were rely sothing imaginary. It wasn’t simply because of internal reasons as the main point was actually because of external reasons. It was the result of gas between the various Supre Interstellar Empires.

Unless the solar system was completely annexed by one of the Supre Interstellar Empires—or an expert so strong that he could dominate everyone else appeared—it would be impossible for stability and order to return to normal.

It was impossible for the various Supre Interstellar Empires to allow the solar system to have a peaceful and unified governnt. They would think of ways to sent their forces in to infiltrate.

How could a re Mars Revolutionary Army be a match for the major interstellar powers that ruled the entire galaxy!

Although their ideals were noble, it was useless. Firstly, they didn’t have an expert that could dominate the starry space. Secondly, they didn’t have the leading interstellar technologies. In order to deal with a re Giant Pharmaceutical Company, they already needed to act in the shadows. Hence, wanting to deal with the various Supre Interstellar Empires? This was simply a mantis trying to stop a chariot; there was no chance of victory at all.

Although their ideals were beautiful, could it be eaten as a al?

The universe abided the dark, cruel law of the jungle. Strength was the only true reliance one could depend on.

Feng Lin was extrely pessimistic about this Mars Revolutionary Army. Such an underground organization like this was destined to have no future. It was impossible for him to join it.

“How can you be so cruel? You simply have no humanity, as expected of an employee from the Giant Pharmaceutical Company! You are a butcher that enjoys human experintation!” Seeing how cold Feng Lin was and seeing his lack of concern and disdain for their organization’s lofty ideals, Snakeboy got angry and started cursing loudly.

Feng Lin’s gaze turned cold. He swept his eyes over and spoke, “I spared your life earlier, so don’t challenge my patience any longer. You should be careful with your words as to not invite disaster upon yourself!”

His tone was filled with a clear warning. That Snakeboy instinctively wanted to retort sarcastically but was stopped by the long-robed man.

“Enough!” The long-robed man heavily spoke, stopping Snakeboy from comnting any further for fear of infuriating Feng Lin.

He was very clear of Feng Lin’s strength. It wasn’t easy to finally ease the tension between them, and he didn’t want to stir up trouble.

If they really infuriated this man, he might be able to use so hidden thods to escape, but Snakeboy would die for sure. As his captain, the long-robed man naturally wouldn’t allow Snakeboy to die so stupidly in vain, serving no purpose at all.

Snakeboy was stopped by the long-robed man. Maybe, he thought of his captain’s prestige, or maybe, he feared Feng Lin’s combat prowess. In any case, he could only suppress his resentnt and anger deep within him.

Although the abilities of Snakeboy were bizarre and could be considered extraordinarily powerful when compared to cultivation apprentices, he was nothing more than a minor character in Feng Lin’s eyes.

After the short burst of irritation, Feng Lin no longer glanced at him.

Snakeboy clenched his fists. He felt a piercing pain from Feng Lin’s gaze.

“Does it really have nothing to do with you?” Upon facing Feng Lin’s rejection, the long-robed man wasn’t dispirited. On the contrary, he was smiling instead. “Do you really believe the words of the Giant Pharmaceutical Company? That the humans used in human experintations are all death convicts? Let tell you the truth, the majority of those humans are people from the Mars Revolutionary Army. They had never committed any cris that earned them the death penalty. Although mbers of our Mars Revolutionary Army are all over mars, we are still too weak and inconsequential when compared to the Solar System Coalition Governnt. The Coalition Governnt fears us and announced that we are rebels. We are given the death sentence once we were caught. They are in cahoots with the Giant Pharmaceutical Company and use the mbers they captured from us in the human experintations...”

Upon speaking until here, he clenched his fist and there was a malevolent look on his face. Hatred could be seen etched there, and this didn’t seem to be false.

Feng Lin silently listened. He didn’t expect to hear that there was such a truth!

In that case, the human experintations of the Giant Pharmaceutical Company were truly not simple indeed.

Before this, he also felt bewildered. The R&D departnt conducted human experintations frequently, and their rate of usage for human subjects was extrely quick. How could there be so many criminals on the death penalty?

Now, his bewildernt was finally resolved. It appeared that this was the answer, but Feng Lin still didn’t trust it completely.

Although he was filled with sympathy toward the plight of these people, sympathy was still sympathy, he wouldn’t lose his rationality over this.

After listening to the long-robed man’s words, Feng Lin was even more determined not to join this Mars Revolutionary Army.

This long-robed man wanted him to join, and the reason behind it most probably was because they wanted to use him as a spy.

How dangerous would that be?!

Once he joined the Mars Revolutionary Army, he would instantly beco a thorn on the sides of the Giant Pharmaceutical Company and the Coalition Governnt. Once his identity was discovered, his fate would be extrely miserable.

Feng Lin wasn’t any holy saint. He wouldn’t sacrifice himself for the sake of others.

If he directly agreed, that would truly have ant he was crazy!

No matter how great the benefits were, would it be comparable to his own life?

The solar system was very vast, and there were all sorts of major powers here. Right now, his strength was still insignificant and weak...

Turtling, that was the only path for him right now!

After having talked to Feng Lin for half a day, Feng Lin still didn’t say a word and didn’t appear moved at all. The long-robed man felt his heart sinking into the valley.

This Feng Lin seed to have a heart of stone; common words were unable to stir him, his will as tough as iron. It seed like if he didn’t reveal news with bombastic impact, he would never succeed in getting Feng Lin to join them.

He lowered his voice, “Feng Lin, do you know that you are facing an imminent catastrophe?”

Feng Lin declined to comnt. He didn’t express his stance toward these words that were filled with threat.

Using danger to his life to frighten him? This tactic was just too low-class.

The long-robed man gritted his teeth and added more fuel to the flas. “From what I know, you have thoroughly convinced the interviewers due to your extraordinary performance before you were recruited into the R&D departnt. But do you know that this is precisely the origin of the catastrophe you are about to face? The Giant Pharmaceutical Company has always recruited many geniuses, and you are not the first. But do you know where are all the geniuses now?”

Feng Lin felt his heart tremble, but his facial expressions didn’t change. He calmly asked, “Where did they go?”

His eyes were fixed on the long-robed man’s expression. He would instantly be able to tell if this man was lying.

However, contrary to his expectations, the long-robed man shook his head and he replied, “We also have no idea.”

“No idea?” Feng Lin didn’t understand. He didn’t expect that this man would actually give such an answer.

According to logic, shouldn’t these people try to use ‘his impending death’ as a threat to frighten him into joining the Mars Revolutionary Army?

Why would this long-robed man suddenly give such an answer lacking in persuasiveness?

But strangely enough, Feng Lin actually believed him more.

When the long-robed man was speaking about this, a puzzled look could be seen in his eyes. He didn’t seem to be lying.

“We really have no idea. But all of them vanished suddenly without exceptions. Even our Mars Revolutionary Army couldn’t find any trace of them despite our best efforts!” The long-robed man heavily spoke as he continued, “However, we don’t doubt that this definitely has a connection with the sinister plots of the Giant Pharmaceutical Company. You should know how much danger you are in now. Joining our Mars Revolutionary Army is the only way for you to guard yourself; only we have the capabilities to protect you. Join us, Feng Lin! Given the geneticist’s talent you displayed in the R&D dept, being able to improve on the formula of a genetic potion when you are rely a genetic researcher, we will definitely nurture you heavily if you join our Mars Revolutionary Army!...”

The long-robed man made many promises to Feng Lin. His tone filled with sincerity, and his eyes filled with anticipation.

Sadly, it was destined that he would be disappointed.

Once Feng Lin made a decision, his heart wouldn’t be wavered by re words. His only reply was a burst of laughter.

“You are right. But, what does that have got to do with ?”
