Chapter 994: Chapter 230: New Hope

“Taking advantage…” Hiroshi Matsushima pondered for a mont, then asked Zero: [What do you think about this?]

[Think about what?]

[Taking back the Space Elevator.]

[Oh, there’s hope. And if we are to act, it’s likely to happen around this ti.] Zero analyzed: [The orbital forces in the Earth-Moon system were obliterated by the Martial God in one fell swoop, so King Aqini has pushed the Deep Space Fleet to satellite orbit. Deep Space Vessels are strongly resistant to vertical gravitational acceleration, but less so to horizontal. Within the Planetary Gravity Well, they struggle to maneuver. If we capture the Space Elevator, there’s a chance to use it as a platform to confront them.]

[But, wouldn’t he just blow up the Space Elevator? Now that the Martial God has reached Africa, the intent should be quite obvious.]

[The Martial God will likely remain in stealth mode for a while. During this stealth period, others will imitate the Martial God.] Zero said: [Even if Africa is the biggest target, King Aqini will likely continue to patrol various regions. The target of the Deep Space Fleet is too large. His every move can’t escape the telescope’s view. The operation to seize the Space Elevator will inevitably occur when the Sky Star Fleet moves to the other side of Earth. During this window, heroes must capture the Space Elevator and then deploy sufficient Martial Power in space to prevent attacks by the Sky Star Fleet.]

[And this strategy must occur before the Protectors complete their defense shifts.]

For the Planetary Defence Fleet active within the Gravity Well, the problems faced by the Sky Star Fleet aren’t significant. They can disperse into smaller units, using a massive amount of space debris to conceal the movents of small vessels. And these small vessels aren’t as conspicuous as the deep space battleships of the Sky Star Fleet.

Matsushima said: [Then how about the Sky Star Fleet using long-range ans to directly attack the Space Elevator?]

[The Space Elevator isn’t that fragile; otherwise, heroes would’ve destroyed it long ago.] Zero replied: [With the Martial God present, it’s not impossible to fully seize the defense equipnt of the Space Elevator.]

Through Zero’s explanation, Matsushima gradually understood the entire process.

For the heroes, the biggest challenge might not be “seizing,” but “holding” afterward.

This requires them to preemptively amass so ard force in space or to establish sufficient long-range attack bases on the ground to prevent the Sky Star Fleet from approaching.

Then, rely on the entire Space Elevator to continually expand their advantage.

This approach gets closer to “liberating the Earth-Moon system.”

Within this strategy, there are three key factors. First, the Sky Star Fleet lacks the ability to maneuver within the Gravity Well. Second, the Sky Star Fleet doesn’t have the ans for rapid airborne assault on ground targets. Lastly, other enemies in the Solar System still need the Sky Star Fleet’s attention, and King Aqini won’t decide to exhaust the entire Sky Star Fleet on Earth.

This also relies on the efforts of heroes in the Jupiter Domain.

Matsushima sighed: “No matter the strategy, they all seem to lack manpower.”

Heroes secretly established bombardnt bases against space from the ground, which is sowhat possible—the Burrow Dragons in Africa probably started preparations many years ago. But once the bombardnt bases are exposed, they’ll inevitably face attacks from nearby Protector Army.

To defend the bombardnt bases, sufficient manpower is required.

And to hold the seized Space Elevator, a lot of manpower is needed.

Finally, Matsushima asked: [In this battle, surely you’ll face the Sky Star Fleet and King Aqini. Are you really okay with that?]

[It’s not a big deal.] Zero said lazily, [Anyway, my mission was just to steal experintal data. Now that the mission’s complete, I’m indifferent; I’m very free.]

“Then… I have no choice but to go.” Matsushima said, placing his hands behind his back.

But in his tone, he couldn’t conceal the excitent.

Like magma faintly glowing red within the seams of the earth.

……………………………

At the top of the Space Elevator, inside the space station.

An elderly mber of the Six Dragons Sect slightly bowed with an apologetic expression: “Sorry, Holy Maiden, from here onward, you’ll have to find your own way.”

Kanhara Shinhara sighed: “This is already good enough. Thank you.”

Kanhara had just reached the Space Elevator when the Holy Lord’s broadcast stated “all verification thods are imdiately abolished.”

If Kanhara hadn’t arrived first, this Six Dragons Sect mber might not have stepped forward to et the Holy Maiden.

Now, the Six Dragons Sect is in complete shutdown, barely sustaining existence through personal connections among mbers at minimal efficiency.

Originally, Kanhara should’ve contacted other mbers of the Six Dragons Sect here to find a chance to go to Mars.

But now, Kanhara couldn’t reach that mber of the Six Dragons Sect who’s been lurking here.

Now she either finds a way to sneak into the cargo hold or finds a way to seize a small aircraft and pretend to be a teor heading for Mars.

No matter which choice, this trip will take much longer than originally planned.

Earth is already under an air of unrest. The ergence of the Martial God has plunged the situation into chaos.

Kanhara stared silently at the ground beneath her. She knew another Xiang Shan was there, lurking in so dark corner.

And when he appears again…

Perhaps this planet will change once more.

……………………………

In the deep sea, a ceremony is taking place between the civilization of the Spear Squid and the civilization of the whales.

In the presence of Ola Freeman, the Spear Squid representative, Soul, slowly approached the whale representative, Kledec.

Soul could see the sharp teeth within Kledec’s pointed mouth, evolved as a tool for fixating slippery soft-bodied prey. An instinctual fear urged him to change color, to eject ink.

However, his two tentacles rested upon another long tentacle of his own, then gently exerted force.

Soul tore off his own tentacle.

Then, Soul voluntarily tossed the tentacle towards Kledec.

“This is a gift.” Soul’s colors indicated, “A symbol of friendship.”

Ola clearly heard the sharp high-frequency ultrasound from Kledec. It was a cry of agony.

Kledec genuinely found this behavior revolting.

Yet, it opened its mouth and swallowed the barbed tentacle.

It awkwardly used its vocal organs to say: “This is… a symbol of friendship.”

Soul extended the longest tentacle towards Kledec’s snout.

And Kledec rubbed Soul’s body with its long snout.

Thus, they officially beca friends.
