"Today is the eighteenth day of setting foot on the Ancient Africa Continent. Just thinking about actually being able to co to this legendary ancient land makes so happy. If you stayed in that damned place with the Order of Knights, could you see such sights? No way."
"Besides, the results of ’Project 3’ initiated two weeks ago have already been sent back. We received thanks from a group of heroes. Although we used up so resources, we’ve been replenished by kindhearted heroes. It’s just a sha we don’t have the genetic data to directly synthesize the relevant drugs. Little R said his previous group had cooperated with a knight order on this side, and it’s likely the related project has retained so useful products."
"I think we could actually participate for a round. Think about it, we haven’t engaged in academic activities for a long ti. Having such an experience now and then should be quite nice. Unfortunately, Yuki is firmly against it and insists on continuing northward. I had no choice but to comply and set off again."
—— "Pixie Sect Affairs morandum"
"What the heck is with your morandum!" After seeing the shared progress, Little R couldn’t help but stand up and angrily reprimand, "If you can’t write, then don’t write!"
"Damn it! What do you an?" Sect Leader Inzewei Song of the Pixie Sect was furious. She scolded her sect’s Elder of Transmission, "I’m the sect leader, I’ll write it however I want! You really want it to be like those eting minutes, full of unnecessary formalities?"
The two of them were glaring at each other in the sandy land.
This was a solar cell array near a settlent. Inzewei and Little R also set up solar panels here.
According to Jianghu experiences they saw online, it’s not ideal for soone on the road to randomly lay out solar panels anywhere. Laying them out in a vast no-man’s-land could expose you. It’s not recomnded unless absolutely necessary.
Laying solar panels around a settlent is best.
The wilderness settlents far from the city have always been in a state of wild growth, with basically no one managing them. As long as they can pay the Gene Tax, if they’re attacked by rebel groups like the Green Forest, the Protectors will take revenge for them—accurately speaking, they would raise the "cleanup priority" of the attacking rebel group to act as a deterrent.
Apart from that, there are no taboos.
The Protectors initially allowed officers to establish camps on the ground freely, providing basic social services around the camp. Here, "basic" ans they would kill killers. Additionally, affiliated groups of the Scientific Knight Order would provide services like education chip implantation and the first brain-machine interface basic modifications. Because of this, humans would naturally gather around cities. However, most humans rely on solar energy. Those with a lower modification rate also have certain needs for water and protein.
City space is limited, and the per capita available sunlight area is not high, so for a slightly better quality of life, so people use resources amassed from primitive comrcial activities to establish settlents in the wilderness.
This settlent’s solar panels are quite chaotic, with completely ununified sizes and specifications, ssily stacked until they cover the opposite side. If not for the fixed angle of direct sunlight, perhaps these solar panels wouldn’t even uniformly face north.
The Sect Leader and Elder of Transmission were arguing about this and that in such a chaotic environnt.
If not for the forr Scientific Knight’s prosthetic body being so well-designed, even the most sophisticated camouflage wouldn’t hide it, it might truly be a perfect disguise.
The aura of the Sect Leader and Elder of Transmission strangely fits this place.
Actually, many in the Pixie Sect are so-called "Proud Sons of Heaven" who got into the Scientific Knight Order from similar places. If they weren’t from outside, they wouldn’t have reached this point.
A month ago, the people of the Pixie Sect finally wisely decided to bypass the regions where the Six Dragons Sect might appear, heading all the way south, reaching the Afeili Continental Shelf in the Southern Hemisphere.
In fact, it’s not necessary for Cybernetically Enhanced People to be obsessed with "landing" at all.
Or rather, the perspectives of "those who don’t need to breathe" and "those who need to breathe" on the concept of "landing" can be entirely different.
For completely cyberized martial artists, "land" and "water" may only an a difference in the dium around their bodies, with almost no distinction of "can or cannot survive."
At this point, the Pixie Sect split into two groups.
The Sect Leader, taking along a group of elders and following the sect guest Yuki, with sufficient external power sources, ventured onto the continental shelf, heading towards Afeili.
The other group stayed with the submarine. This submarine was an elite research vessel of the Scientific Knight Order, equipped with excellent research facilities besides the database. For the hero groups, the ship itself holds imnse value. The forr apprentices were not about to give up this hard-earned base.
In fact, it turned out to be quite useful.
Shortly after landing, they connected with the local hero circles in Afeili.
This place is still a considerable distance from the Space Elevator. The combat intensity here hasn’t reached the high levels near the Space Elevator.
Many heroes didn’t directly conflict with the Protectors but served as "nomadic governors" and "civil dispute diators."
The governnt explicitly prohibits "structuring organizations." Therefore, when residents organize autonomous groups, they attract the Protectors’ iron fist. At that ti, the Protectors wouldn’t hesitate, delivering a heavy punch—what’s easier than pounding a sandbag that offers no resistance?
Residents couldn’t self-organize, and all grassroots settlents lacked managers. Many behaviors considered "improper" could not be curbed.
The roles that curb these civil conflicts according to "self-defined rules" are also classified as "heroes." Moreover, to continuously engage in such a role, one needs a considerable amount of martial power. It’s said that many years ago, there were figures in these hero communities known for using non-lethal weapons.
Additionally, so renowned heroes with personal issues also temporarily lend a hand on this low-intensity battlefield.
Many heroes have experienced neurological problems at quite a young age due to rushed brain modification surgeries.
In most cases, the ailnts these heroes encounter are not "terminal" — the deep cerebral modifications promoted by the Scientific Knight Order generally have "reversible" design requirents.
However, "diagnosing the exact issue" and "finding treatnt plans" are sowhat challenging for the average hero.
While every hero is an expert in chanical engineering and computer security, not every hero possesses professional knowledge in neuroscience and dicine, let alone "diagnosis and treatnt".
But these are not problems for the Pixie Sect!
Relying on outstanding dical skills, this new sect of forr Scientific Knight apprentices has established a reputation.
With a bit more systematic training and martial arts with a distinct style, it could beco a mature martial arts sect!
Inzewei felt that he also needed to work hard in this area.
He must change his usual ways and practice more diligently.
Best if he could kill a few of those genetically annoying Six Dragons Sect mbers...
At the thought of the Six Dragons Sect, Inzewei felt phantom pain on his face — perhaps it was the sensation of "clenching his teeth".
This grudge runs deep.
"In any case, let’s conserve so energy first and stop arguing," Inzewei waved his hand finally, "Either you write, or shut up."
"If I do it... it wouldn’t be appropriate, would it? Isn’t that the Sect Leader’s prerogative?" Little R laughed.
Finally, before nightfall, two individuals wearing solar panel hats approached them.
Yuki and Zhao Zhengxin escorted the next batch of samples to the submarine.
Among the problems the heroes encountered, so were readily solvable by Inzewei and others on the spot (because the symptoms were typical and obvious), while others required more detailed examination, necessitating sending samples to the submarine. Additionally, they needed to retrieve so synthetic drugs to deliver to the heroes.
In the small squad, the responsibility of handling this task fell naturally to Yuki, who had the highest combat power,
which made Inzewei feel quite ashad. She often used this as motivation for sect mbers to practice martial arts more.
Zhao Zhengxin said, "Why hide in such a place? It made the two of us circle the settlent twice."
Inzewei replied, "Jianghu experience, right? Isn’t it best to hide while charging in such places?"
Zhao Zhengxin fell into a prolonged silence.
anwhile, Yuki cautiously asked, "Is this Jianghu experience sothing from online too?"
"Yes."
"Then..." Yuki pointed at the sky, "It should be invalid for now. This is an era where the space-based weapon network is still intact, and it’s the Jianghu experience summarized by the Jianghu heroes. But, just a few months ago..."
"Just a few months ago, the Twelfth Martial God wrecked this network in front of that moon bastard," Zhao Zhengxin said, "That Jianghu experience beca invalid then."
Little R paused for a mont, saying, "You know? The image I have of roaming the Jianghu is sitting amidst this pile of trash-like photovoltaic panel arrays absorbing solar energy."
"There are such tis." Yuki nodded, "But to be honest, I feel we don’t need to recall and cherish bitter mories for now, really... although charging here is indeed a bit safer."
After all, it was just a short while ago. Indeed, we’re not at the stage of recalling bitter mories yet. But, the Protectors also have drones and a wired surveillance network, though not as intense as before, being cautious does no harm.
The prosthetics of these forr apprentices are still a bit too good.
Zhao Zhengxin said, "Even if it’s less noticeable to set up photovoltaic panels here... why not leave the batteries and panels here and go wait sowhere else?"
"Romantic!"
