Chapter 858: Chapter 858: Before Leaving
"Of course,"
Briggs Colby nodded with a confident smile, "I still have that much authority."
"Thank you, Elder Colby, thank you so much!"
Upon confirmation, Noah Wood imdiately showed a face full of excitent.
Although he was the head of the Wood Family in Drifting Cloud Town, he always maintained a reverent attitude when facing the colossal entity known as the Five Elents Sect.
The Wood Family had a history of several hundred years but had never produced a disciple with the talent to be admitted into a vast power like the Five Elents Sect, which had always been a regret for them.
Now, knowing that his daughter could join the Five Elents Sect, although there was a tie of favoritism involved, he could not help but feel inexplicably thrilled.
"In that case, could I ask Elder Colby to allow us a few days to prepare before we set off?"
Wyatt Barnes turned to Briggs Colby, intending to ask for his opinion.
"No problem at all, no problem!"
Briggs Colby, overwheld with joy that Wyatt had agreed to join the Five Elents Sect, was naturally all too eager to accommodate such an exceptional talent.
"Elder Colby, didn’t you... didn’t you say you were leaving early tomorrow morning?"
Adan Walton, who had ordered an elder to take his youngest son Esteban down, happened to hear these words from Briggs Colby and couldn’t help but feel surprised.
Previously, when Briggs Colby had said he would leave the next day, he had tried to persuade him to stay.
But Briggs had seed very determined, leaving Adan feeling quite helpless.
Now...
"Ahem,"
Caught by Adan’s words, Briggs Colby gave an embarrassed smile, "Special circumstances, special circumstances... Family Head Walton, since that’s the case, may I impose upon your hospitality for a few more days?"
"It would be our honor,"
Adan Walton quickly responded.
He naturally realized that Elder Colby’s decision to stay a few more days was due to Wyatt Barnes, which clearly showed how much he valued Wyatt.
"Thank you, Elder Colby,"
Wyatt Barnes thanked Briggs Colby, then after greeting Adan Walton, he took Daisy Wood with him, who was still imrsed in her excitent, and quickly left the Walton Family’s grand hall.
"Wyatt, take your ti preparing... As long as you are ready within half a month to leave with , that’s fine,"
As Wyatt exited the Walton Family grand hall, Briggs Colby, still inside, raised his voice to add one more thing.
This left Adan Walton, among other high-ranking mbers of the Walton Family, speechless.
Surely, different people received different treatnts!
Wyatt and the others quickly returned to the Wood Family estate; understandably, Noah Wood could not refrain from thanking Wyatt profusely for the recent events.
"Brother Barnes, I really can’t thank you enough. Without you, Daisy would never have been able to set foot in the Five Elents Sect in her life,"
Noah Wood said.
"Headmaster Wood, you are overestimating my contribution,"
Wyatt Barnes shook his head and then glanced at Daisy Wood beside him, saying, "Daisy has admirable talent. When I asked Elder Colby to take her into the Five Elents Sect, I also didn’t want to see a hidden gem go to waste."
Daisy Wood, standing to the side, had a slightly flushed face, her beautiful eyes flickering with uncontrollable excitent.
Even now, she still felt like she was dreaming.
Being accepted into the Five Elents Sect!
Undoubtedly, it was a dream she had deed unreachable since her childhood.
Yet now, this dream had beco a reality.
"Brother Barnes, I know my daughter’s talent well. With her abilities, the Five Elents Sect would definitely not take notice... This is all thanks to you,"
Upon hearing Wyatt’s words, Noah Wood shook his head.
Wyatt Barnes offered a wry smile; did Headmaster Wood still think his daughter’s talent was as before?
One must know, his decision to let Daisy be accepted into the Five Elents Sect had been deeply contemplated.
He was joining the Five Elents Sect mainly to reunite with old friends through the sect, not to actually commit to a career within it.
Under such circumstances, Wyatt felt a sense of guilt, guilt towards the Five Elents Sect.
His insistence on Daisy joining the sect was more about compensating the sect.
Perhaps, in the eyes of others today, Daisy was only able to join the Five Elents Sect because of him, Wyatt Barnes.
But he was very clear in his heart.
In the future, Daisy would let everyone know that it was not her latching onto the Five Elents Sect, but the Five Elents Sect that had sought her out.
Of course, Wyatt kept all this to himself for now, because he knew that speaking out wouldn’t convince many; it was better to let the facts speak for themselves.
Daisy, given ti, would slowly reveal her extraordinary talents and shine brilliantly!
"This is also sothing I owe to the Five Elents Sect,"
Wyatt Barnes thought silently to himself.
In the following days, Wyatt lived as he had before, either cultivating, comprehending the "realm," or sitting comfortably in the courtyard, enjoying his tea.
He had requested a few days to prepare, not for himself—he was alone in this place with no relatives, free to leave at any ti.
The ti he asked for was for Daisy.
He knew that Daisy had never been far from ho her entire life; she certainly needed ti to make preparations.
In the days that followed, the news that Daisy Wood was going to join the Five Elents Sect spread throughout the Wood Family. The whole family was adorned with lanterns and strears, brimming with joy as if it was the New Year.
Every mber of the Wood Family, when out and about in the following days, never failed to ntion in conversation, "Our Miss Wood is going to join the Five Elents Sect."
And outsiders were all kinds of flattering.
Daisy Wood’s initiation into the Five Elents Sect signified sothing that everyone understood quite clearly.
From that mont on, the Wood Family would be entirely different from before, having a ’Five Elents Sect’ as its backing, just like the Walton Family.
Perhaps the Five Elents Sect wouldn’t co to their rescue in full force, but in human interactions, favors are inevitable.
Should the Wood Family face any troubles, Miss Wood ’Daisy Wood’ returning to help would undoubtedly bring along so elders and disciples from the Five Elents Sect.
"Drifting Cloud Town is about to change!"
"For the Wood Family, when one person achieves success, the whole family benefits!"
...
The streets and alleys of Drifting Cloud Town were bubbling with excitent due to the news of the Wood Family’s precious daughter joining the ’Five Elents Sect’.
Five days later.
At the entrance of the Wood Family’s mansion, Wyatt Barnes stood quietly, still as a mountain, like a statue.
His gaze rested on a group of people not far away.
A pretty young girl was saying farewell to a group led by the Wood Family head ’Noah Wood’ and other high-ranking mbers of the Wood Family.
All the Wood family mbers present at the mansion ca out to see her off.
Half an hour later, the young girl turned and ca to Wyatt’s side.
"Brother Barnes, I’ll have to trouble you to take care of Daisy in the future."
Noah Wood looked at Wyatt with a grave sense of trust.
His daughter was his precious treasure, and this was the first ti she was leaving ho for a long distance, filling his heart with reluctance to part.
"Headmaster Wood, don’t worry, I will," Wyatt replied solemnly, nodding his head before taking Daisy Wood’s hand with a light laugh, "Daisy, let’s go."
"Okay."
Daisy was lifted into the air by Wyatt, heading towards the Walton Family’s direction, but she couldn’t help but look back three steps at a ti, waving goodbye to the people of the Wood Family.
Only when the figures of the Wood Family disappeared from her sight did she turn around with a sense of loss and whisper, "Brother Barnes, when will I be able to co back to see my father?"
"Silly girl," Wyatt said with an affectionate laugh, "whenever you want to, just co back... I’ll ntion it to Elder Colby."
Wyatt believed that Elder Briggs Colby would certainly not refuse such a small request.
"Brother... Brother Barnes, don’t ntion this to Elder Colby just yet, or he’ll think I’m taking advantage of your influence to get what I want," Daisy playfully stuck out her tongue. "I’d rather earn the respect of Elder Colby and other disciples of the Five Elents Sect on my own rit."
Wyatt laughed and nodded in agreent, "That’s the spirit! Let’s do it your way then."
Soon, Wyatt and Daisy arrived at the Walton Family estate, naturally receiving a warm welco from the Walton Family head ’Adan Walton’.
In the Walton Family’s great hall, Wyatt t with Briggs Colby once again.
Briggs Colby looked radiant today, as if he had shaved a few years off his age.
Wyatt couldn’t help but be surprised and asked, "Elder Colby, have you had a breakthrough these past few days?"
"Wyatt Barnes, you do have a sharp eye," Briggs Colby nodded with a smile, "I’ve been practicing very smoothly these days, and I finally broke through the bottleneck that I haven’t been able to overco for many years!"
Years ago, Briggs Colby’s cultivation had hit a bottleneck leading to the ’Transforming Void Realm Seventh-Order’ and had been unable to break through, as if trapped in a demonic barrier.
These past few days, his fortunes seed to have changed after eting Wyatt, who agreed to join him in returning to the Five Elents Sect and joining ’Niklaus Woodson’. This had put him in an exceptionally good mood.
Unexpectedly, his cultivation had advanced, breaking through the bottleneck.
"Speaking of which, I have you to thank for this," Briggs Colby said with a smile.
"Thank ?" Wyatt was taken aback.
"Yes, it’s because you promised my master that you’d return to the Five Elents Sect with us. It put him in such a good mood that he was able to break through," the voice from outside continued as soone entered.
Wyatt looked up to see that the person who had walked in was none other than the Walton Family’s Young Master ’Noel Walton’.
A few days had passed, and Noel Walton had recovered as if nothing had happened.
"Young Master Walton," Wyatt greeted with a nod, bearing no grudge against Noel Walton after understanding the full story behind the recent incident.
In the whole affair, Noel Walton also had been kept in the dark, rely being a pawn used by his brother Esteban Walton.
His actions were blaless.
"Wyatt Barnes, I owe you an apology for the offense caused a few days ago; I hope you can forgive ," Noel Walton earnestly apologized as he entered, bowing slightly.
"Young Master Walton, you’re too polite; I’ve already forgotten about that incident," Wyatt smiled openly and his admiration for Noel Walton grew. Truly, he lived up to the reputation as a man who elicited thumbs-up whenever ntioned in Drifting Cloud Town.
"Now that we’re to be fellow sect mbers, there’s no need to call
Young Master; just ’Noel Walton’ will suffice," Noel Walton said with a smile, then turning to Daisy, "This must be Miss Wood from the Wood Family. I’m sorry for having imposed on your family a few days ago..."
"As for my brother, I never imagined that he would commit so many detestable acts over the years!" Noel Walton’s eyes flickered with a hint of sorrow as he spoke.
