The truth was that Demonics were not demons in the true sense but beasts or humans who were just exposed to Qi that was unacceptable to the righteous path of this world. This was a eureka mont for Wuyi. He rembered what the statue of valor, shadows, and harmony spoke to him when they acquired souls. He found an instant solution.
Half of his fears related to demonics had disappeared just like that.
If it was just another beast exposed to a different kind of Qi, then it could be manipulated just like other beasts. Wuyi focused his concentration and Qi into the Statue of Harmony and reached out to the hog with his thoughts. The hog beca alert, then raised its head and charged toward him.
It reached him swiftly, but when it was close enough, it stood in front of him, not attacking but like a ta dog, it stood waiting for Wuyi's command.
Wuyi was able to control this beast with the statue of harmony. No matter how many statues he gets in the future, the statue of harmony, which has been with him from the very beginning, was the most broken cheat.
Wuyi looked at the ta hog and without hesitation, like a heartless butcher, he moved. But unlike any butcher, Wuyi did not have any cleaver in his hands. His hands were bare, but the interesting thing to notice was his hands had turned pure black as if they were not his hands but hands of the statue of shadows.
And Wuyi touched the hog, and then in an instant, the whole hog disappeared. In the Chamber, the Statue of Shadows spun slowly.
You could see everything of the hog - blood, bones, skin, even the soul was swallowed by the statue. The glow on the Statue of Shadow beca sharper than others then Wuyi saw so of the energy being sent from statue of shadow to statue of Harmony.
The Statue of Harmony distributed so of the energy to the statue of Valor. Now the remaining two statues got so shine too, still, the statue of shadow shined the most.
The statue of shadow had consud the whole hog, converting its body, essence, bone, and soul everything into energy for it. This was the ssage that statues had conveyed to Wuyi - any living being or thing was energy for them. From this world's perspective, all his statues, especially his Statue of Valor and Statue of Shadows, would be considered demonic.
After absorbing the hog, Wuyi looked at the shadow of the tree in the light of the moon a few miles away. Wuyi disappeared and reappeared below the tree in its shadow. Wuyi checked the statue of shadow for how much energy was spent and he noticed the shine was still there.
Wuyi realized the souls of creatures were very nourishing for his statues because of this energy from the soul of the hog he could teleport in shadows for a while without worrying about energy.
This made Wuyi wonder how nourishing the souls of humans would be. He also rembered how his statues made him feel hungry when Congming had used his Qi for the first ti in front of him; this all made sense now. A cultivator like Congming would be way more nourishing.
With the energy from that demonic hog that the statue of shadow received, Wuyi was able to teleport from shadow to shadow for hundreds of miles without taking a break.
He planned to reach Lujingbao as soon as possible. Wuyi had resolved to exact vengeance. Both Boluo and Chao were his deepest connections to this world, and he couldn't let them be killed without consequences.
Wuyi was in no way soone who really felt that he was a type of person who would have feelings for love and attachnt to anyone - but whether he liked it or not, his two guardians had beco part of his life. The Righteous Boluo and The Mysterious Chao, these two Wuyi had felt would be with him forever, were killed so easily he still felt unreal that they were dead.
He felt empty that there was nothing in this world that he needed to be considerate about; he was going to make them all suffer for giving him this emptiness.
The Statue of Harmony helped him manage his emotional stability; because of this, he was not drowning in sorrow, but there was deep grudging anger in him. The only consolation Wuyi felt was that his two guardians were still with him even if they were no more living. He was sure the statues had not consud their souls but made them part of themselves.
Another thing that felt unreal for Wuyi was that he was so far from the fort and the statue's hands sohow still reached out to the fort and grabbed the souls. This ant as long as he gave the statues enough energy, they could do any impossible tasks.
The Statue of Valor in his chamber radiated a warm glow, bolstering Wuyi's determination to avenge his guardians. All the statues were speaking to him, as if they understood what he was going through and as if they were there for him. Even though all of them were speaking to him, there was no distraction, as the Statue of Knowledge seed to keep concentration and control on Wuyi's behalf.
Wuyi pondered the motives behind the ambush on Boluo and Chao. It perplexed him deeply that Gao was able to get soone stronger than Boluo's level to attack them. Where would Gao hire soone like that?
Finally, he decided to ask his guide, the statue of knowledge. Wuyi spoke, "Adiuva id intellegere." The Statue of Knowledge spun, and Wuyi received the answer—it was the Yunajing clan. Sohow, Gao had manipulated the Yunajing clan. With this clarity, Wuyi knew he would be attacked too once he reached the fort. It was Wuyi's luck that he was sent for the test.
Gao would never have sent him for the test if he knew the assailant would arrive so soon. Considering the distance, Gao would have expected the Yunajing to take action but must have expected so more delay. The assailant was supposed to kill Wuyi first, but since Wuyi was not present, he targeted Boluo and Chao.
