Madam Tang sat looking at the two people before her, her posture rigid and her gaze watchful. The air in the room was thick with tension, unspoken words hanging heavy between them.
Yang i broke the silence, her voice carrying a forced sweetness that grated on Madam Tang’s nerves. "Madam Tang, we are here to see Ziyi."
Madam Tang’s eyes narrowed imperceptibly. "Weren’t you here just yesterday?"
"Well, I have to spend ti with my son," Yang i replied, a hint of defensiveness creeping into her tone.
Madam Tang felt a pang of jealousy in her heart, which she quickly tried to conceal. The woman before her may have given birth to Ziyi, but she had been the one to raise him, to nurture him, to love him unconditionally for all these years. Pushing aside her tumultuous emotions, she schooled her features into a mask of indifference.
"Ziyi went to the Sun villa," she inford them, her tone clipped and formal.
Zhao Liang, ever the opportunist, spoke up. "Oh okay, we can wait."
Madam Tang’s patience was wearing thin. She had no desire to play host to these interlopers any longer than necessary. "Suit yourself," she said, rising to her feet. "You can wait here. I have things to do." Without another word, she turned and left them alone in the living room.
As she walked away, Madam Tang couldn’t help but feel a mixture of relief and unease. Li Chen had organized security personnel for Tang Ziyi, so the villa was well-guarded. Still, leaving Yang i and Zhao Liang unsupervised in their ho felt like inviting a fox into the henhouse.
Left alone in the opulent living room, Yang i’s facade of politeness crumbled. Her eyes, once warm with feigned affection, now glittered with barely concealed resentnt. "This woman thinks she is all that," she spat, her voice low and venomous. "Look at her living comfortably in a villa that should be mine."
Zhao Liang’s gaze darted around the room, taking in the luxurious furnishings and priceless artworks that adorned the walls. His voice was a low, urgent whisper when he spoke. "You need to talk to Tang Ziyi into letting us stay here. The villa has enough rooms for all of us. And besides, we can’t afford to pay the hotel bill any longer."
Yang i’s shoulders slumped slightly, the weight of their precarious situation bearing down on her. "I know, okay? I will talk to him."
Zhao Liang’s eyes narrowed, his patience clearly wearing thin. "You are afraid of this boy. I have been asking you to talk to him for weeks now. I think I have to take matters into my own hands at this point."
Panic flashed across Yang i’s face. "I will do it today, okay?"
"Hmm, we’ll see," Zhao Liang replied, his tone heavy with skepticism.
Just then, the sound of footsteps echoed through the hall, and Tang Ziyi walked into the living room. As soon as his eyes landed on the couple, he frowned, his entire deanor shifting from relaxed to guarded in an instant.
"What are you doing here?" he asked, his voice cool and controlled.
Yang i stood up, a placating smile plastered across her face. She tried to softly grab Tang Ziyi’s arm, but he deftly shifted to the side, avoiding her touch. He moved to sit down, his posture tense and defensive.
"Where is Mom?" he asked, pointedly ignoring Yang i’s attempted gesture of affection.
Yang i’s smile faltered for a mont before she forced it back into place. "I am your mom," she said, her voice trembling slightly.
Tang Ziyi’s gaze was hard as he replied, "Right, okay. So what do you want?"
Yang i sat back down, swallowing hard. Zhao Liang nudged her, his eyes conveying an unspoken warning. She took a deep breath before speaking. "We... we have so troubles that we wanted to discuss with you."
Tang Ziyi’s expression remained impassive. "And how are your troubles my concern?"
Zhao Liang, sensing Yang i’s hesitation, jumped in. "Give your mother a chance, Ziyi. She is trying here."
For a mont, it seed as though Tang Ziyi might dismiss them outright. But then he nodded slightly. "Okay then, I’m listening."
Yang i’s words ca out in a rush, as though she feared losing her nerve if she hesitated. "We have been living in a hotel for so ti now, and the bills are starting to take a toll on us."
Tang Ziyi shrugged, his indifference palpable. "Then return to your house where you have been living all these years."
"We sold everything searching for you," Yang i explained, a hint of desperation creeping into her voice. "You know, private investigators are very expensive."
A flicker of sothing – anger, perhaps, or disgust – passed across Tang Ziyi’s face. "Then you shouldn’t have looked for . That would have saved you lots of money."
Zhao Liang, sensing the conversation slipping away from them, leaned forward. His voice was earnest, almost pleading. "Co on, Tang Ziyi, give your mother a break, will you? We are in deep trouble here."
For a long mont, Tang Ziyi said nothing. His eyes, dark and unreadable, moved from Yang i to Zhao Liang and back again. Then, just as the silence threatened to beco unbearable, he spoke. "Okay."
Yang i blinked, confusion evident on her face. "What?"
"Fine, you can move in," Tang Ziyi elaborated, his tone flat and emotionless. "You will both be on one week probation."
Yang i’s face lit up, a genuine smile breaking through her anxious expression. "Thank you so much!"
Tang Ziyi’s response was curt. "You can leave now."
Zhao Liang, barely containing his excitent, stood up. "Thank you so much. We will co tomorrow with our bags."
"Yeah, sure, whatever," Tang Ziyi replied, already turning away from them.
As the couple left, a small smirk played across Tang Ziyi’s lips. It was ti to get rid of these two; they were annoying, and he knew they had bad intentions. He had his own plans for them, and he needed them closer. The trap was set, and now all he had to do was wait for them to walk right into it.
In the car, as they drove back to the hotel, Yang i could hardly contain her excitent. "I can’t believe he agreed so easily," she said, her voice filled with wonder and a hint of suspicion.
Zhao Liang’s eyes glead with triumph as he navigated the busy streets. "He is a boy, still wet behind his ears. Now our plans can be set in motion."
Yang i’s excitent faltered for a mont, a flicker of doubt crossing her face. "But please, promise you won’t do anything to him."
Zhao Liang’s gaze snapped to her, his eyes narrowing dangerously. "Are you growing feelings for him?"
Yang i looked away, her voice soft and conflicted. "I can’t change the fact that I carried him for nine months. He is my own flesh and blood. We will get the money then leave without hurting anyone."
Zhao Liang said nothing, but his grip on the steering wheel tightened, his knuckles turning white with the force of his grasp. The silence that fell between them was heavy with unspoken threats and simring tension.
As they drove on, each lost in their own thoughts, the true complexity of their situation began to unfold. Yang i, torn between her maternal instincts and her desire for wealth and security. Zhao Liang, his ambition burning bright and dangerous, willing to do whatever it took to claim what he saw as rightfully his. And Tang Ziyi, the young man at the center of it all, playing a ga far more intricate and dangerous than either of them realized.
Back at the villa, Tang Ziyi sat in quiet contemplation, his mind working through the myriad possibilities and potential outcos of his decision. He knew he was taking a risk by inviting Yang i and Zhao Liang into his ho, but it was a calculated one. By keeping them close, he could monitor their movents, anticipate their plans, and ultimately, turn their own sches against them.
He reached for his phone, quickly typing out a ssage to Sun Lixia. "They took the bait. Prepare the next phase." He hit send, a grim satisfaction settling over him. The ga was afoot, and he intended to erge victorious, no matter the cost.
As night fell over the city, the various players in this complex drama settled into an uneasy quiet. Yang i and Zhao Liang, in their hotel room, packing their belongings with a mixture of excitent and trepidation. Madam Tang, in her room at the villa, her heart heavy with worry for the son she had raised and loved. And Tang Ziyi, his mind working overti, planning and plotting, determined to protect his family and his interests from those who would seek to exploit them.
The stage was set for a confrontation that would shake the foundations of their world, testing loyalties, challenging assumptions, and ultimately revealing the true nature of family, love, and ambition. As the city slept, blissfully unaware of the drama unfolding in its midst, the key players in this high-stakes ga prepared for the battles to co, each convinced of the righteousness of their cause, each willing to risk everything for the chance at victory.
In the dark of night, as the city’s lights twinkled like stars fallen to earth, a sense of anticipation hung in the air. Tomorrow would bring new challenges, new opportunities, and perhaps, the beginning of the end for so. The ga was far from over, and as dawn approached, bringing with it the promise of a new day, one thing was certain: nothing would ever be the sa again.
