The tension in the air was palpable as Tang Junjie and Tang Ziyi entered the living room, their presence adding another layer of complexity to the already volatile situation. As soon as Tang Ziyi’s eyes fell upon Master Jiang, his brow furrowed, an unspoken history lingering between them.

Sun Lixia turned to address the newcors, her voice laced with a forced calm. "Ziyi, Li Chen will be here any minute with Zhang i. Is your mother ready?"

Tang Ziyi offered a polite smile, his eyes flickering towards the Jiang family for a brief mont. "I think she is, Aunt Lixia," he replied, his tone asured.

Tang Junjie greeted the Jiangs with a courteous nod, but Madam Jiang paid him no heed, her focus solely on Sun Lixia. "Listen, Sun Lixia," she began, her voice trembling with barely restrained emotion. "I know you or your son did sothing to my Xiaolin."

Sun Lixia’s expression hardened, her brow furrowing ever so slightly, but she maintained her composure. "What makes you think sothing so horrible of us?" she asked, her voice laced with a hint of reproach.

Madam Jiang’s eyes blazed with conviction, fueled by a mother’s desperation. "I know you, I know the Suns," she declared, her words tumbling forth like a torrent. "I know how protective they are of their own, and I know you know my daughter tried to drug Li Chen."

Sun Lixia’s smile faltered, her eyes widening in surprise at the accusation. "If you know that we protect our own, why would your daughter do sothing so despicable?" she countered, her tone tinged with disbelief.

Madam Jiang’s shoulders slumped, her eyes downcast with a mixture of sha and sorrow. "She was foolish, okay? Foolish to love a man who was already betrothed to another."

Master Jiang stepped forward, his expression etched with desperation and a glimr of hope. "Listen, Sun Lixia," he implored, his voice trembling with emotion. "I know you don’t rember the play dates we had as children, but we grew up together. Xiaolin is also like your daughter, please, give her back to us."

Sun Lixia’s brow arched, her expression one of confusion and surprise. "I am not sure if you have forgotten or what," she began, her voice calm but firm, "but I was kidnapped at three years old, raised by another family, recently recognized my real family...the Suns at almost 50 years old. You and I don’t have any history."

Master Jiang’s face fell, his hopeful expression crumbling in the wake of Sun Lixia’s revelation. "Please," he whispered, his voice barely audible.

Jiang Xiaofeng stepped forward, his eyes burning with determination. "Where is Li Chen?" he demanded, his voice ringing out with a sense of urgency. "I want him to tell straight that he doesn’t know where my sister is."

Sun Lixia regarded him with a mixture of sympathy and resignation. "You can wait for him if that’s what you like," she said, her tone gentle but firm. "I have to prepare to go sowhere. I will get the butler to serve you tea while you wait for Li Chen." With those words, she rose from her seat and departed, leaving the Jiang family in the company of Tang Ziyi and Tang Junjie.

An awkward silence descended upon the room, the weight of the situation hanging heavy in the air. Tang Ziyi and Tang Junjie exchanged a furtive glance, unsure of how to proceed in the face of such raw emotion and desperation.

Tang Ziyi had spent enough ti around Li Chen and his family to know that they were not the kind of people to engage in such nefarious acts as kidnapping or worse. Yet, the Jiang family’s conviction and the fervor with which they pursued their missing daughter gave him pause.

As the minutes ticked by, the tension in the room grew thicker, each second stretching into an eternity as they awaited Li Chen’s arrival. The Jiang family clung to the hope that he would provide the answers they so desperately sought, while Tang Ziyi and Tang Junjie remained silent observers, caught in the crosshairs of a drama that threatened to engulf them all.

The tense silence was shattered as Jiang Xiaofeng turned his pleading gaze towards Tang Ziyi and Tang Junjie.

"Please, you two must know sothing," he implored, his eyes wild with desperation. "We’ll give you anything, any amount of money, if you can tell us where my sister Xiaolin is."

Tang Junjie’s brow furrowed, clearly taken aback by the sudden request. Before he could respond Madam Jiang cut in sharply.

"Just who are you boys?" she demanded, zeroing in on Tang Ziyi with narrowed eyes, as if trying to place his familiarity.

Clearing his throat, Tang Junjie sat up straighter. "My na is Tang Junjie, and this is my younger brother Tang Ziyi. We’re both close friends of Li Chen."

Madam Jiang’s eyes narrowed further at the ntion of Li Chen’s na. Jiang Xiaofeng, however, seed to latch onto a flicker of hope.

"Friends of Li Chen?" he repeated eagerly. "Then surely you must know what happened to my sister! Where she’s being kept!"

He leaned forward intensely. "Na your price. My family will pay any sum, I don’t care how exorbitant, if you can lead us to Xiaolin safely."

Tang Junjie shook his head, holding up a placating hand. "I’m very sorry sir, but I don’t even know who your daughter is, much less where she could be. Li Chen has never ntioned anything about this to ."

"But you’re his friends!" Jiang Xiaofeng protested, his voice rising in pitch with frustrated anguish. "How could he not have said anything?"

Tang Ziyi exchanged an uneasy glance with his brother. As close as they were to Li Chen, this entire situation was news to them both. He opened his mouth to reiterate their ignorance, but Madam Jiang cut him off.

"Don’t play stupid, boy!" she snapped, her eyes boring into Tang Ziyi with intense scrutiny.

Tang Ziyi frowned in confusion, shaking his head slowly. "I... don’t know what you’re talking about, Madam Jiang. My family has no connection to yours that I’m aware of."

"Don’t lie to !" Madam Jiang thrust an accusing finger towards Tang Ziyi.
