Even with the defensive spells and arrays inside Kyran's room, Cyneah could still vaguely sense the magic fluctuations around the infirmary. She contemplated checking the Macabre Glacier's state in case it had sothing to do with True Void's current situation. However, only five minutes passed, and the magic fluctuations gradually decreased, confusing her.
Eventually, Cyneah's magic sense, which she kept probing around the edge of the magic fluctuations' range, began to clear, and she could

'Kyran...?'
Cyneah found Kyran inside the infirmary. Unlike the vague presence he emitted these past days, the empty-like space she normally saw had returned. In fact, the size of his presence had grown significantly, and she wondered if True Void regaining his consciousness boosted his recovery.
Cyneah knew Kyran had not fully recovered after the encounter with The Emperor. She sensed sothing significant had happened then and was curious about it. Nonetheless, she respected his decision not to tell her because she knew he was thinking about a lot of things, and he was still sorting them out.

drop a massive bomb when she relayed Haylee's words. Including everything that was happening in the clan and the preparations they had to go through in anticipation of The Emperor's next move, she thought it best to let him be for now. She decided to provide support from the sidelines.
'More importantly...'
Cyneah slightly shook her head and pushed her thoughts to the back of her mind. She then observed the infirmary's surroundings.

But then she noticed sothing and imdiately rushed out of the door. She went to the infirmary, but her steps slowed as she neared the door.
It was faint, but she could hear a muffled sound inside the infirmary.
Cautiously, Cyneah reached for the door's panel that recognized her magic energy (Leif helped record them before she left for the Inter-Clan Conference) to open the door.
Using her magic sense to its maximum, she manipulated the magic energies in the surroundings to recreate the structure of the infirmary in her mind's eye. Fortunately, the abundance of the magic energy around them helped create a detailed image of the infirmary, albeit in black and white in Cyneah's mind.
After exerting her magic sense's capabilities, the empty space depicting Kyran's presence appeared more stable. His silhouette was still unrefined, but the form was enough for her to visualize his position and stance.
'...True Void is... not here...?'
Whether it was because True Void had been unconscious, Cyneah had a better visual of his silhouette. She rembered True Void was also depicted as an empty space when she t him in Somuli.
In any case, Cyneah wondered if Kyran forced True Void to retreat inside his world or sea of consciousness, which was why she could not see him. But why did the infirmary exude such a deep lancholy air if that was the case?
Just as this impression crossed her mind, she heard the muffled sound again and realized it was coming from the empty-like space where Kyran was.
That was when Cyneah was struck with a realization, and her heart broke, imagining what had happened in those few minutes that Kyran entered the infirmary to check on True Void.
With small calculated steps, Cyneah entered the room and approached Kyran. It was then that she finally understood why she felt the air had gotten so heavy.
Carefully, she knelt down and reached out while visualizing Kyran's form.
Kyran, who was on his knees and trying to keep his emotions in check, flinched when he felt a hand touched his back.
'Neah...'
He belatedly realized Cyneah's presence, and was suddenly ashad. But them her arms wound around him, with such tenderness and understanding that the emotion he was trying to rein in burst out from it.
Silent tears stread down Kyran's eyes. He rarely cried, and to be honest, he forgot the last ti he did. Was it when he saw his family again? Or was it when he was reminded of the sin he commited during his training in the Tower of Tribulations?
He forgot.
As far as he was concerned, he never showed any deep emotions.
But today... Just for today... Kyran found it hard to contain them.

More mories of their ti together flashed through Kyran's mind like a mirage. And as those mories took over, doubts and regrets filled him.
When Caelan's consciousness bid Kyran farewell, he was sad, but not to this extent.
It was not the first ti that Kyran lost soone he considered family. The sin he committed, killing all those innocent lives he once protected, had been the first. But even then, he never felt so broken and lost.
Everything True Void did flashed through Kyran's mind, and he could not help but ask himself:
Did I ever thank him?
Have I told him how much I appreciate his company during my training in the Tower of Tribulations?
Did I ever tell him his presence assured him, especially in tough tis?
Have I treated him well...?
'I don't know... I don't rember...'
This realization was the reason True Void's sudden departure tornted Kyran.
"It has been fun, Void Halfling."
True Void's parting words seed to ring in Kyran's ears. And the deep emotions that threatened to overwhelm him eased sohow.
A gentle, lancholy voice filled his senses as he belatedly registered Cyneah's singing.
Kyran was reminded of the first ti he heard her sing. However, unlike the song she sang then, she sang a far more comforting song. In the past, he could not understand the words when she sang. But after learning the Ancients' language, he understood it better, and in the process, he was comforted.
Kyran did not rember how long they had stayed that way. He could not even rember how they left the infirmary or his state when he t Zigor and the other Blade Dancer mbers observing the ship from a distance.
But Zigor and they did not notice anything wrong, and they returned to their tasks after Kyran confird that everything had been settled.
Kyran did not return to the enclosed do. Instead, he retreated to his room inside the ship.
Cyneah, wanting to stay by his side, kept him company.
The two lay in bed without saying anything.
Truth be told, Kyran felt too exhausted to speak or think. That was why he felt grateful for Cyneah's understanding. Though he did not want to talk, that did not an he did not want to be around others. For this reason, Cyneah's presence alone had been enough to ease his mind.
This was not the first ti that Kyran sought Cyneah's company.
Back in the Human plane, when the cottage was still in its original location, he would go to her whenever he encountered sothing that shook him. And this ti was no different.
Having Cyneah in his arms, Kyran eventually cald down. Soon, he drifted to sleep.
When Cyneah, who had been silently listening to Kyran's breathing, realized he had fallen asleep, she retracted her magic influence to allow him to rest naturally. Though she only had a vague idea of what happened, she sensed Kyran underwent a significant change.
She still could not put it into words, but she guessed that True Void might have imparted sothing to Kyran before he left. She knew True Void would not leave anything that would harm Kyran. Nevertheless, she felt sowhat restless.
The Macabre Glacier's sentient, or to be precise, the King of the Ancient's corrupted soul remained silent throughout the ordeal. So Cyneah might be overthinking it.
But even if she tried to tell herself this, she still could not shake off the feeling that Kyran's change would affect the future of both realms.
'...Stop. Don't think too deeply about it... You'll only confuse yourself...' Cyneah reprimanded herself. In the end, Cyneah, with her mind full of uncertainties, also succumbed to sleep.
