Kyran brought out the Grimoire of Nothingness and the book Ancient Magic from his space pouch and looked at them. It had been a while since he had seen the forr, unlike the latter, which he had only recently opened again.

After Cyneah told Kyran about everything Haylee shared, he read the Ancient Magic book's contents again. In fact, after eting Kairos and learning about what happened in the past, he reread the book as well. Although the book did not ntion any history, he sensed a strange feeling of disconnect from the book's introduction and what he learned.

The Ancient Magic book was an introduction to Ancient Magic, its importance to humans, and the requirents on how one would possess it. It even ntioned which family in the Human plane were the ones who were likely to birth a mage that possessed them.

There was no ntion of the Ancients Clan, nor the Four Great Minds' creating an artificial magic core that allowed one to possess Ancient Magic.

Because of this contradiction, Kyran always felt there was still a missing piece to the mystery of what happened before The Fall.

No. That was not exactly it. Rather than saying that the missing piece was connected to an event that happened before The Fall, it was better to say that the whole incident that caused The Fall was a contradiction.

And at the center of that contradiction was not the Higher Being. Instead, it was The Fates.

Kyran also could not shake off the feeling that there might be another era before the Higher Being and the Ancients ca into existence that was involved in all this. This had only been a passing thought, but it had resurfaced in Kyran's mind after the Crepuscule Vice Head introduced the origin of the cauldron that had strangely resonated with him.

Kyran cleared his mind as he set aside the Ancient Magic book and picked up the Grimaore of Nothingness.

This was also an item that had baffled Kyran for so long. It had been many years since he got the grimoire in the Tower of Tribulations, yet he had never seen any change or felt a reaction to it.

Until now.

Looking at the faint glow around the grimoire, which was quite similar to the one emitted by the Ancient Magic book, he wondered what could have possibly caused the two to resonate at this point?

Kyran had these two for a long ti. So what happened or changed from then at this point caused them to show such a reaction?

He scanned his surroundings and looked toward the center, at the portal that gave a faint glow.

Nothing.

At least from his field of view and current perception, he did not find anything different.

''Field of view and perception...'' Kyran repeatedly thought as his eyes instinctively wandered on the ground. He was not looking at the incomplete array formation. Instead, he was looking at it in a more general way.

'Could it be underground...?'

There had been so instances in the past in which what he could not find above ground was actually hiding underground.

However, as soon as he thought this, he imdiately expelled the notion. After all, if sothing was buried beneath the ground he was working on, he should have sensed it even if he had fainted, especially since his natural senses were far keener than now when he was still recovering from the overuse of the Void State.

He did wonder if writing the array formation triggered sothing. But if that was the case, then formation should have reacted first.

But none of that happened, and Kyran was convinced that whatever changed or happened to make the Grimoire of Nothingness and the Ancient Magic book resonate was not hidden underground.

Since he could not think of any possible reason for this strange occurrence, Kyran decided to check if a change happened to these items.

With that in mind, he opened the Grimoire of Nothingness.

Kyran rembered the first ti he opened the grimoire. He was too dumbfounded because there was nothing there. He even wondered if it was called

nothingness

because

nothing

was written on it. He rembered trying to channel his magic energy into the grimoire. However, nothing happened. He even tried channeling energy per page, but like the first ti, there was nothing.

In the end, Kyran decided to deal with the grimoire another ti, and after a long ti, he admitted that there were monts when he forgot he even had it.

This ti was a little different, though.

As Kyran opened the grimoire and looked at the first page, faint images floated on its surface. However, it was hard to discern the images because they were faint. He turned another page, and again, he looked at faint rune writings that hovered on its surface.

The runes were also undiscernable. However, Kyran had this vague feeling of familiarity while looking at them. With a slight frown, he looked at the Ancient Magic book lying on the ground beside him and picked it up.

That was when another change happened.

Though still faint, the rune writings hovering on the page's surface dipped slightly. They had not touched the surface, but they had definitely moved closer.

As if struck by inspiration, Kyran moved the Ancient Magic book closer to the grimoire.

Unfortunately, nothing happened.

Kyran was not discouraged, though. If sothing had changed every ti he moved, this situation would have been more confusing and strange.

While keeping the grimoire and the book within his peripheral view, Kyran opened the latter and observed any change in the forr. When nothing happened, he channeled a little of his magic energy into the book, allowing it to change its translation into Void runes, then went to the first page.

At this point, the hovering rune writings on the grimoire quivered as if a soft wind had blown past them.

Curiously enough, the grimoire was not the only one that reacted.

The runes on the book's surface also quivered, with a few turning faint.

Kyran frowned upon seeing this because he realized that if the runes that turned faint were removed, so of the sentences on the page would change. Or at least, its thoughts would change. Discover exclusive content at empire

'What in the...?'

Kyran's body started to heat up as his heart raced erratically in his chest. It was strange how this small change could actually excite him. He had always been a seeker of knowledge. Thus, whenever he found sothing interesting or if he wanted to learn sothing, he got so imrsed in it that he tended to forget everything around him.

Stella even wondered if he had always been a bookworm because of how diverse his reading selection was and how fast yet accurately he could read and absorb the contents of a book.

Kyran's interest was piqued to the point that he almost forgot about the array formation he was writing on the ground.

Fortunately, because the channeled Void magic energy into the Ancient Magic book was too small, the book's content started to fade. As if it did, the faint runes on the Grimoire cleared again.

Kyran was forced out of his reverie, looking completely distracted. Realizing he had almost fallen into his bad habit of getting lost in his own world when reading or finding sothing that interest him, he shook his head and tried to clear his mind.

'...That was close...' he thought, lowering the Ancient Magic book before looking at the Grimoire of Nothingness again.

There was definitely a connection between these two items. Moreover, he had an inkling that he would need the rest of the existing copies of the Ancient Magic.

Stella had a copy. And that book was passed down from generation to generation in the Tower Family.

Kyran got his copy as a reward in the Tower of Tribulations.

'Since the book talks about Ancient Magic, there should be four copies out there...' he guessed.

To be honest, Kyran did not know that he would discover how to 'open' the Grimoire of Nothingness at this point. He still did not know what triggered this incident, but that was the least of his worries. What was important was to find the rest of the books and have them resonate with the grimoire so he could finally read what was written on it.

Kyran paused, recalling the familiar yet unfamiliar runes on the grimoire.

'What magic language was it?' he wondered.

Those were not Ancient Runes, which the Ancients used.

But there was sothing

ancient and, at the sa ti, noble

about it.

Kyran recalled the era that possibly existed before Ancients and the Higher Being and vaguely sensed these runes existed then.

"A magic language more ancient than the Ancient..." he muttered while watching the hovering rune writings on the grimoire fade slowly.

The faint glow emitted by the book and the grimoire began to dim as the resonance of the two stopped.

Kyran looked at the two items as another thought flashed through his mind.
