Their lighthearted banter was abruptly halted by Ducal, who brought urgent news from Coelus's corpse's site. The second group that had ventured into the Energy Assimilation Array had just completed their turn, a developnt of significant importance.
The first group, having successfully completed their adjustnt phase after exiting the array, was fully prepared to return to the surface, marking a significant step in Kyran's plan to improve his people's overall strength.
Aillos ordered the first group's return to the palace and had Nothum escort them to their new abode. Initially, they were to return to As's mansion, but since the Regis Family was now officially recognized as part of the clan, there was no longer a need to have all of them hide in her place. Besides, having them stay there was no longer practical because of their number.
However, Aillos wanted them to stay near As's mansion and arranged for their residence near hers. Since the Regis's existence was hidden from the rest of the tribes' representatives, none of the annexes and complexes near her mansion were occupied. Thus, finding a good place for them to stay was easy.
With Nothum on top of things, the first group that entered the Energy Assimilation Array was escorted from Coelus's corpse's site back to the surface in the main palace. anwhile, Rae and so of Ducal's subordinates assisted the second group that had just exited the array as they adjusted to their newly acquired strength.
After Ducal completed his report about underground matters, he aningfully examined Aillos before proceeding with his next subject. With a serious look, he said, "We received word from Lady As."
Aillos's and Kyran's expressions turned solemn as they waited for Ducal to continue.
"She is currently en route back to the plane and may be late for the banquet. However, she confird her errand ended with promising results."
"Promising, huh?" Aillos smiled wryly before looking at Kyran. "What do you think?"
"It's better than getting no results," Kyran replied thoughtfully.
As had now shown her face to anyone because she had left for an errand. Aillos knew there were prying eyes outside the plane, so he got Kyran to create routes— similar to portals from Junction Port— that allowed travel outside their plane to another without being seen.
Kyran seed to have the sa idea and agreed with Aillos's request. There was no need to create several portals. What was important was where the other end of the portal connected to. This was where the secret alliance between the Regis Family and the Ogen Clan ca into play.
Aillos had not revealed the alliance to the Dragon Clan because, technically, the Ogen Clan was allied with Kyran's people. Even if the Regis Family was now recognized as an official mber of the Dragon Clan, their allies and assets remained separate.
Of course, that was not to say that the Dragon Clan and Ogen Clan would not beco allies. For now, their relationship would fall under 'business connection' until Aillos and Oceanus found an opportunity to et naturally and happened to discuss an alliance.
That was a matter for another ti, though.
In any case, Kyran created a route from the Dragon plane to the Ogen plane.
Such a route would have been impossible to create, but with Kyran's Void magic, there were no issues with the distance or incompatibility of the environnt to deal with.
For the record, the environntal compatibility of portals was connected to the primary energy source of a plane. A portal created on a plane where the dominant magic energy was Earth would require similar energy up to the other end of its route. It was for this reason that creating portals was impossible to do among planes.
However, one could make it if both planes had similar primary energy sources.
That was why the Junction Port was created on an artificial plane. Since artificial planes did not have a specific type of energy source, portals created there would not have any problem adapting to the portal's primary energy source.
The Dragon Plane's primary energy source was Draconic magic. Thus, a portal created there generally worked in the sa magic energy. This also ant that the other end of the portal should be connected to a plane that used Draconic magic as its primary source.
Ogen Plane's primary energy source, however, was Water magic. For this reason, it should be impossible for a portal connected to the Dragon Plane to have been created.
Kyran's Void magic removed that restriction. In fact, he could have also used Chaos magic as the portal's primary energy source, and it would not have had any problem connecting to a portal that used Water magic as its energy source since Chaos magic was the parent of all elents.
Unfortunately, Kyran's control over Chaos was still limited and could even be considered unstable. Thus, he could not combine it with Void magic yet. He did try so tests when he was in Somuli, and the result made Cyneah almost go into one of her rare dark moods. Kyran ended up in a terrible state, and she exuded a very ominous aura while healing him. She did not openly scold him, though.
But he admitted not wanting to subject her to that again; otherwise, she might heal him to make him suffer again.
It sounded contradicting, but that was how Kyran felt about Cyneah's mood then. He might be wrong, but he could never really say.
Going back on As's errand, she used the portal to leave the Dragon plane without being detected by the prying eyes outside. As for her errand's destination, it was the rebel's hideout.
Raelia inford As about the rebel group's movent when they t in a 'staged' fight in the Lower Realm. As checked on the rebel group's hideout when she returned to the Higher Realm. Unfortunately, they had already left after being discovered by another group from The Emperor's Elites.
Fortunately, Raelia's unexpected visit allowed her to give As new information about the rebels. When As told Aillos about the information this ti, he let her leave as soon as possible.
With Kyran's portal, As managed to locate the rebel's new hideout and attempt a negotiation. As disguised herself throughout the initial eting, and the rebel representative who t her did not mind because he, too, was in disguise.
According to As's ssage, she established a connection with a mid-level rebel group. She had yet to et with the head of that group, but from what she gleaned from the initial eting with the rebel representative, the leader of that mid-level rebel group was an executive of the rebels.
As's errand could indeed be considered a promising result.
"I suppose we'll just have to accept it and think of how we can achieve our intended result moving forward," Aillos said, bringing Kyran out of his reverie.
"Yes," Ducal agreed with Aillos's words.
"Did she say when the second eting will take place?"
"No. I guess she did not want to reveal too much in case her ssage got intercepted."
Kyran smiled bitterly at Ducal's reply and could not help but comnt, "I'd like to et the person who can intercept a ssage from my communication device."
"Such arrogance," Ducal snorted. However, he did not say that out of spite. There was even a slight endearing tone to his voice.
"Alright," Aillos said and stood up from his seat. "Tonight's banquet marks the end of the Grand Gathering. However, as discussed earlier, apart from tribe leaders that have so business in their tribes, the rest will remain in the palace until the training camp."
During the end of the closed-door eting, it was agreed that the tribes would assist in organizing the large-scale training camp. They would send ssages to their respective tribes and gather the rest of their mbers to participate in the training. Moreover, they would also busy themselves with the tasks that Aillos assigned them while staying in the palace.
"Transmission Arrays will be created to agreed points all over the plane to ensure quick passage of the clan mbers from their tribes to the main palace," Ducal confird. "The Array Saints in charge of this will assemble and complete it first thing in the morning."
"Good. Eldir's request is also a top priority. Make sure to prepare it so his people can start the production of armor and weapons upon their arrival."
"Yes."
"Speaking of which," Aillos turned his gaze at Kyran. "Are you sure you can accommodate Eldir's request? You already have your hands full with completing Anahita's technique and creating the array for my ascension. It's not like you know how to multiply yourself."
Aillos's light jab at Kyran's inability to create an essence hit a nerve, but the latter gave the forr a deadpan look and said, "I'll be fine."
"If you're planning on exploiting Sisi's abilities..." Aillos started with a warning tone.
"I won't," Kyran replied almost imdiately. He was not even going to engage in a battle, so why was Sisi's ability suddenly ntioned here? "
"It may only be my imagination, but you must look after her. It is faint, but I sense her displeasure during your first session with Anahita."
"..."
Kyran did not need Aillos to remind him about that. Cyneah did not act out of the ordinary that night, but he sensed she was trying to rein in her emotions. She spoke to him usually, or at least it appeared that way, but sothing about her smile and tone seed off to him.
"I will," Kyran replied after a short pause.
