Slam!

The door to the headmaster's office slamd open, and a voice as sweet as maple syrup echoed in the room.

"GRAND...pa?"

No way in hell.

I turned my head slowly, glancing over my shoulder. Eyes widened at the person who had just intruded on the eting.

She had beautiful grey hair cascading in waves, framing a soft face which had seen no harshness of life. Bright eyes of rose-pink stared back at with the furrowing of her grey brows. She wore a pristine white coat with gold strims at the edge of the collar over a black shirt.

A golden brooch with the Oak Leaves Crown hung on the left side of her coat. She was undoubtedly a second-year student at the academy. Her figure was slender and tall—but not as tall as mine, of course.

She was not supposed to be here. I swallowed dryly.

[What happened? Is sothing wrong with her?] Dante asked, curious about the girl.

She is Margaret Von Edevane, the granddaughter of Headmaster Magnus Von Edevane and an important character in the ga.

[That is the heroine you were talking about back in Josephine's place?]

She is not a heroine. She is a character destined for death.

[Then what is weird about that? Everyone dies soday.]

The thing is, she is soone who is not supposed to be at the academy right now. Margaret could see her own death or visions of the future every ti she slept. It deeply traumatised her and made her a shut-in.

She is supposed to be at the Edevane estate, in her room. Not rrily burst into the Headmaster's office. Her entry into the story was reserved for the second year of Raiden's academy life.

[Maybe things have changed since you altered the story slightly?]

No. What I changed should not tie into her.

Sure, I escaped the Blitzfelds. Saved Selene's younger brother—Making her questline cease to exist. Broke my engagent off with that bitch, saved Aeris from her villainess fate and I significantly changed while taking advantages of the things I know from the ga.

But that does not explain Margaret's change.

She was never tied to any of the things I did. In the ga, she barely knew Noah or never even interacted with him unless you have him as a mber of your party.

Which is a bad choice.

Brother could only cast lightning bolts at the enemies.

Out of all of his, one thing is clear: Sothing is wrong.

"Oh, Marg, you are here!" Magnus's cheery voice caught off guard, prompting to look towards him with wide eyes. He had a warm smile on his face—a complete contrast to his usual cold look. "Don't you have class today?"

What a switch...

[Indeed]

She stepped into the room, the sunlight enhancing her already beautiful face. "Grandpa, did you forget that we second-year students have to prepare a fresher's party?"

"Of course, dear, I did not forget. It is an old tradition." Magnus let out a small chuckle that made a bit uncomfortable. This was the man who was just about to expel for harming two insignificant human lives?

She stood beside , which made even more uncomfortable. Like she could've sat down on the couch or sothing, you are his granddaughter.

Even though I did not glance in her direction, I could still feel her gaze over, and what's more, she is currently a variable that I know nothing of.

Noticing Margaret staring at , Magnus cleared his throat before introducing . "Dear, this is Student Noah Von Blitzfeld. Perhaps you have heard of him?"

"Noah Von Blitzfeld?" She mumbled out. I slightly turned my head to see her reaction, her eyes were open wide as if sothing had dawned upon her. Maybe she recognised from the visions she saw?

"You an the Disgrace?"

[Pffffft-HHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. "VISIONS" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA]

Shut up, Dante.

That won't save you from the hearing.

And as for Margaret, I am throwing her in a Goblin cave.

"Marg, dear... You shouldn't speak to your juniors like that." Magnus ca in clutch; he probably sensed my irritation and corrected her. Otherwise, his granddaughter would've turned into a pulp like Felix.

[You can't, Magnus will flatten you instead.]

I hate it, but he is right about that.

"I am sorry about that, junior." She lowered her head before , which I accepted. "It is ok, senior." But that goblin cave is still an option.

She raised her head back up and introduced herself. "I am Margaret Von Edevane, a second-year student at the academy and the granddaughter of Headmaster Edevane. It is nice to et you."

"I am Noah Von Blitzfeld. It is nice to et you, too, Senior Margaret." Introducing myself, I turned towards Magnus. "I don't want to intrude upon your ti, Headmaster. So, I shall leave."

I lined up my face with the door, hurrying my footsteps. I needed to get out of here before Magnus rembered about the question he had asked .

My hand almost touched the door knob before—

"Wait," Magnus spoke up.

I glanced over my shoulder towards him with a small, polite smile. "Yes, Headmaster?" Sweat started forming between my brows.

"You did not tell the reason for harming Student Alea."

Well, shit.

I did not think that I would have to explain everything for so long. I let out a small breath as I moved down the corridors of the academy building. One side of the corridor had a line of windows through which the campus could be seen, while the other side had dark doors for entering classrooms and other rooms.

The flooring tiles were like those of a chessboard. But instead, there was no king or queen, rather and—

"So... Why are you tagging along with , Senior Margaret?"

Yup, she had followed from the Headmaster's office. I don't know why, but I don't have a good feeling about her at all. I feel like she knows sothing I don't. And it is keeping on edge the whole ti.

She looked at with her pink eyes and smiled. "Well, you might've gotten lost. That is why I decided to co with you. Didn't you want to go to the library?"

[I'd say that concern is valid. After all, you are a first-year student.] Dante's voice echoed in my head. It made sense, but still, there were signs on the walls that indicated the floors and rooms.

"I see," I smiled. "Thank you for coming with , Senior Margaret."

She waved her hands dismissively. "It is fine, and please call Margaret."

[And that is kind of suspicious.]

Indeed.
