"I really wanted to go to a beginner-friendly dungeon instead. Looks like I will have to put it on hold for now."

Aria did not sound too disappointed but Liam felt a spark of curiosity.

"Beginner-friendly dungeon?"

"Yeah, it’s a new one that just opened up nearby. They’re using it as a training ground for rookies, and I thought it’d be fun to ss around there for a bit. Rookies love it when I train them there. They all try to run away and get to chase them..."

Aria paused, then seed to rember sothing. Liam doubted that ’having fun and getting Aria to chase them’ was the reason the rookies ran away from her.

But for soone who had no situational awareness like Aria, there was no point in Liam telling her any of this.

"Ah, before I forget. I think I should give this to you."

Aria reached into her pocket and pulled out a small tallic card, handing it to Liam.

"Well, since I can’t go anymore, you might as well take a look. Here’s the pass. You can check it out if you’re interested"

She said casually.

Liam blinked at the sudden offer but accepted the pass without hesitation. He had no particular reason to visit a beginner’s dungeon, but sothing about it piqued his interest.

He had never gone into the dungeon with the intention of checking out his skills, but now it felt like the perfect ti to take initiative.

Liam needed a new place to test his skills and he could only do so much in the outside world without causing trouble.

Aria waved him off and left for her assignnt, leaving Liam standing there, staring at the pass in his hand.

A grin tugged at the corner of his lips.

Why not?

When Liam got ho, Asger was sprawled on the couch, flipping through channels with a bored expression.

The half-dragon looked up as Liam entered, his tail lazily flicking against the cushions.

"You’re back. I was starting to think you got lost or sothing. No wait! It is not ti for you to be back yet. What are you doing here?"

Asger said flatly, yawning before he shot up on the couch and looked at Liam with keen eyes.

Liam ignored the sarcasm and tossed the dungeon pass onto the table in front of Asger.

"Get up. We’re going to a beginner’s dungeon."

Asger’s eyes widened slightly before his face twisted into a look of pure exasperation.

"You’re joking. No! I won’t go back there. You can’t make "

Asger complained dramatically as he held his hands up. But Liam was not in a mood to listen to him.

Asger groaned, throwing his head back dramatically.

"Co on, Liam! A beginner’s dungeon? Seriously? That’s just a waste of ti. There won’t be anything challenging there. It is an insult to , the mighty dragon lord."

Liam smirked.

"Oh? And here I thought you’d be happy to take it easy for once."

Asger clicked his tongue in irritation but didn’t argue further. He knew Liam well enough to understand that when he got like this, there was no changing his mind.

With a final sigh of resignation, Asger pushed himself up from the couch and stretched.

"Fine, whatever. But if it turns out to be a complete borefest, you owe a good al afterward. I will also take a bigger chunk of your magic as reward."

Liam chuckled.

"Deal."

______

The entrance to the beginner’s dungeon was surprisingly well-maintained. A small stone gateway stood at the entrance, glowing faintly with protective runes.

Several new adventurers were gathered around, so chatting nervously while others excitedly checked their gear.

Liam and Asger walked past the group, heading straight for the entrance. The dungeon guide at the front—a young woman with an official-looking badge—stopped them.

"Hello! Are you both here for training?"

She asked brightly.

Liam handed over the pass Aria had given him. The guide examined it before nodding.

"Alright, you’re good to go! Just follow the marked path, and rember—this dungeon is ant for beginners, so don’t expect anything too dangerous. If you run into any trouble, use the ergency signal, and one of our staff will co assist you."

Liam nodded in understanding, while Asger crossed his arms, looking unimpressed.

They stepped through the dungeon’s entrance, and imdiately, Liam felt the shift in atmosphere. The air inside was slightly cooler, and the dim lighting gave the place a mysterious but controlled feel.

The dungeon itself was structured like a simple labyrinth. The walls were made of smooth, enchanted stone, and torches lined the corridors, casting flickering light.

Asger let out a dramatic sigh.

"Yup, this is exactly what I expected. Nothing but empty hallways and weak monsters."

Liam ignored him and walked further in, scanning the area carefully. It was true that the dungeon seed safe. He could detect the monsters and imdiately gauge their levels.

"Hey human, do you need to take care of these monsters?"

Asger asked in a curious voice as he got ready to fight, but Liam interfered before Asger could get too excited.

"No. Don’t get involved unless I am about to die. I would like to test the limits of what I can do without help."

Liam was firm but the frown on Asger’s face imdiately alerted him that sothing was wrong.

"Huh? Are you sure about it? Well, if you are sure, then be my guest."

The half-dragon backed away but he looked reluctant to do so. His eyes kept a keen watch on Liam and he quickly got to work.

The first spell took care of the small wave and the other creatures as well. Liam could feel his control getting better as he used more and more magic. He was also getting more and more creative with what he could do.

For now, he could change the share of his elents, like make elental whips and other things. It was a step toward the right direction for him and slowly, Liam knew he would only get better.
