’Shit! Why did my past-life mories co with a sense of responsibilities? Could the old not be a little less selfless and let live a life of peace?’

Liam cursed in his mind even as he pushed his body to stand. He was almost leaning against Binaca, and his side throbbed when he tried to force his body to stand.

"This place is done for. We are so dead. I am going to get grounded because of this."

Bianca sounded like her world was ending, but Liam felt like she was worried for the wrong reason.

Liam turned back to Bianca, his expression desperate but resolute.

"I need sothing to help recover faster. You have to have sothing that can get back on my feet. Please."

Bianca looked at him as though he’d asked her to walk into a dragon’s den blindfolded.

"You can’t be serious! Even if I gave you sothing, what do you think you can do? You can barely stand!"

"I know that, but do you think that kid half-dragon would listen to anyone else but ? This is a risk we will have to take."

Liam snapped, his patience wearing thin.

Bianca hesitated, her gaze flickering between the escalating fight and Liam’s determined face. She knew he was right, even if she hated to admit it.

The noise alone was already starting to carry beyond the ruins, and the last thing they needed was more people showing up and turning this into an even bigger ss.

Finally, with a resigned sigh, Bianca reached into her satchel and pulled out a small vial filled with a shimring, golden liquid.

"This is insane. But if anyone can get through to Asger, it’s you. Drink this—it’ll boost your stamina and accelerate your recovery for a short ti. But don’t push yourself too far, or you’ll collapse the second it wears off. Also, if you die, can I have your house?"

She muttered, handing it to Liam.

Liam nodded, taking the vial with trembling hands. He uncorked it and downed the contents in one gulp.

The effect was imdiate—warmth spread through his body, and the heaviness that had weighed him down monts ago began to lift.

His limbs felt lighter, his vision sharper, and his magic reserves replenished just enough to make him functional again.

"Dream on, kid. I have no intention of dying and leaving my house behind."

Liam took a deep breath and stepped forward, moving toward the epicenter of the battle. Victor and Asger were locked in a brutal clash, neither one willing to back down.

His heart pounded in his chest as he raised his voice.

"Asger! Stop!"

The half-dragon’s glowing eyes flicked toward Liam, and for a mont, his feral expression softened. But it was only a mont, and the next second, Asger snarled, preparing to lunge at Victor again.

Liam didn’t hesitate. Drawing on the remnants of his magic, he ford a barrier between the two combatants, forcing them apart. The strain made his head spin, but he held firm, glaring at Asger.

"Asger, listen to ! You’re going to destroy everything if you keep this up! You will get locked up as well. So let’s stop this."

Asger hesitated, his claws twitching as he looked at Liam. The half-dragon’s breathing was ragged, and there was a flicker of recognition in his eyes.

The half-dragon body softened and the transford arm lowered so that it would not attack anyone.

"Liam...?"

"Yes, it’s . Now, let’s stop it so that we can go ho and eat sothing. My stomach feels like it is about to collapse."

Liam said, his voice steady despite the exhaustion creeping back into his body.

Victor, who had been watching silently, raised an eyebrow but made no move to attack. Instead, he crossed his arms, seemingly amused by Liam’s intervention.

"Asger, please. I know you’re angry, but we can’t afford to draw more attention to ourselves. Let it go, for now."

Liam said, his voice softening. The tension in Asger’s stance slowly began to lt away, and he let out a low growl before stepping back.

"Fine, let’s head back. But only because you look pathetic begging like that... and I want a lot of food and ice cream," he muttered.

Liam let out a shaky breath, lowering the barrier as the fight finally ca to an end. He had managed to save a lot of people.

But he also wanted to cry.

’I have a feeling that my wallet is not going to be happy because of what happened. I wonder if it is too late to let Asger rampage and tire himself out?’

Liam sighed as he resigned himself to spending a lot of money. He was about to walk toward Bianca when he felt a sudden presence behind him, closing in on him.

Despite knowing he was safe with Asger and Bianca nearby, Liam felt the need to stay on guard against whoever was encroaching on his personal space.

"This looks interesting. Can I accompany you for so ice cream as well? It seems like a fun ti."

Victor’s voice sounded far too close, and it took everything in Liam’s power not to turn around and say sothing inappropriate.

But he held himself back for the sake of his ntal peace.

Any human who had not only broken Liam’s defenses but also managed to fight against Asger was not soone Liam wanted to make an enemy of.

"Oi, human, stay away from Liam. He’s a fragile human, and you could break him. Your magic is too destructive, and I don’t like it," the half-dragon imdiately complained as soon as he felt Victor coming closer to Liam and himself.

But Victor wasn’t done yet. He had one last trick up his sleeve.

"Hmm, so you don’t want to go with ? What a sha. And here I was, thinking I would like to treat you all to a good al after this. I guess I should cancel—"

"On second thought, maybe we can take you with us... but only this ti," Liam muttered.

He instantly felt like he had made a mistake when he saw Victor’s smile. But it was too late to take his words back at that point.
