"I did not an I actually want to die, Asger. It was just a matter of speech. I very much want to live and enjoy my life. Also, where are Elder Erin and Bianca? I thought they were going to keep an eye on you?"

Liam asked the young-looking dragon, and his words were instantly taken offense to.

"Tsk, I am not soone those puny humans can keep an eye on. And even if they can, it’s not like they can stop . Since that old and funny-looking human realized that, he decided not to waste his ti on and go back to his research.

As far as I know, he has been in his room since lunch."

Well, that was one mystery resolved. Liam also had a feeling that Bianca had returned to her upper floor to try and... do whatever she did in her free ti.

It gave Liam enough ti to clean up his house. He had been neglecting to do that for so ti.

He quickly went to the storage and brought out a broom and a mop to get started.

"What the heck are you doing? Is that for cleaning this place up? Why not use magic? It would make things much easier,"

Asger asked, not understanding why Liam would want to clean up and move just minutes after he was complaining about being too tired.

"You won’t understand, Asger. But the joy of cleaning your own place with your own hands is one that you cannot forget if you experience it once. I do not want to rely on magic to escape this part of my life—"

"Ugh, I understand. Don’t speak like that to . I get it that you enjoy being a masochist. I’ll leave you alone to... your work now. If you need , then I am in front of the TV, watching and learning the ways of this world. That is the only modern piece of magic you humans have been able to get right."

The half-dragon quickly left Liam alone with an offended look on his face.

Asger still did not understand that the ’modern magic’ he had been talking about was science and not magic.

’Then again, even magic has so fundantal rules behind it on how to use it. Is it any different from science in that regard?’

The only difference between magic and science was that anyone could learn science, but for magic, you needed to have the mana compatibility as well as mana reserves.

And that was an inborn talent people had to be born with.

While Liam cleaned, his mind beca calr, and he was about to relax more. He was almost finished cleaning by the ti Elder Erin ca out and decided that it was ti for dinner.

Liam was too exhausted to cook, and he did not want to ask the elder mage to cook. So he decided to order out (much to his wallet’s dismay).

But before he could connect that call, Elder Erin decided to enter the kitchen with an annoyed look on his face.

"Why are you ordering out? Leave the cooking to . I can do it for all of us."

The old man did not even give Liam a choice in this matter before he took over the stove and started to cook. Liam had a feeling that he would receive... so choice words if he were to question the old man at the mont.

So he quietly waited for the man to finish cooking before he picked up his plate.

As expected, the food was chef-quality, and before Liam knew it, he had finished the whole plate. This ti, he was not shy about getting seconds.

Once he finished, the others ca barging in, making Liam glad that he managed to finish in ti. Since he was finished, he decided to look around and try to help Elder Erin out in the kitchen.

"I am here to help you out. Please, let know if you need to do anything."

Liam asked as he walked into the kitchen, only to quickly step back because the room felt extra heated.

He had not seen Elder Erin cook yet, but the intensity with which he cooked reminded Liam of a battlefield. It made him quickly run out before he could be affected by that heat, and Liam let out a relieved sigh as he was able to survive.

"Are you alright, boss? Did I forget to warn you not to disturb Elder Erin when he is in the middle of doing sothing?"

Bianca asked, now eating her food calmly and enjoying Liam’s misery.

"Yeah! You could have warned about this earlier. I felt like my life flashed before my eyes or sothing. I was so sure I was going to die. Tell these things quicker next ti."

Liam complained as he took his seat at the table. He did not try to enter the kitchen again since he valued his life.

The next day, it was ti for Liam to head back to work. But everything in him—from his instincts to his system—was telling him that it would not be a good idea for him to head to work.

But this was also his second day at work, so he could not afford to miss it.

[User is advised not to head to work for their ntal health and future blood pressure.]

Even the system was advising Liam to stay back and not do anything. But Liam disregarded it and went to work. He could not listen to his gut every ti.

But as soon as he reached his workplace, he realized that it would have been better for him to listen to his gut and the system. There was a tense air around the shop, and his boss imdiately sighed in relief as soon as he noticed Liam.

"Hey kid, nice to see you in this shop. Now, she is your responsibility, so just keep an eye on her."

And just like that, Liam was stuck with Aria Duskwood to look after.
