"Alright, everyone! You need to start heading back. Your schedule will be updated, and we will inform you about it soon."

Teachers quickly arrived to escort the excited students back to their guardians. Only a few students remained behind as the crowd dispersed.

Liam was looking forward to sneaking out when he felt a hand land on his shoulder. The familiar energy that passed through his system told Liam all he needed to know.

"Young man, why don’t we have a talk on the side? You see, I’m really curious to know what you think about the demon attack."

Victor smiled as he spoke. He was addressing Liam in front of everyone, ensuring that Liam wouldn’t have an excuse to refuse him.

"I—I don’t know what you’re talking about. Ahh, now that I think about it, I really need to head out—"

Liam’s shoulder was caught before he could make a move. One glance behind him was enough to tell him that he wasn’t going to escape so easily.

"Don’t worry, Liam. I know how concerned you are and that you really need to get going. That’s why I’m here—to help you save ti. I’m sure you won’t say ’no’ to , especially given the current situation."

Victor’s smile was enough to make Liam sigh. He knew that the older man wouldn’t let him go so easily.

"Fine! I get it. You really leave with no choice here. Fine, let’s have this talk."

Liam allowed Victor to pull him along until they reached an empty room. Once there, Victor brought out all the docunts he had gathered related to the demons.

"This is what I know. According to my sources, the demons will attack us within this month. It looks like the groundwork for this invasion was laid down pretty early. What do you think about it?"

Victor’s voice was firm, and Liam sighed before rubbing his forehead.

"Truthfully, I don’t know how to feel. I have all these mories inside my mind, but they’re all jumbled up, and they don’t make any sense. It’s tough for to decide what I do and do not know."

Liam confessed, and Victor humd before sighing.

"So, you an to say that you have no idea how you drove these demons away, huh? In that case, try and rember as soon as you can. If you need help, I know a place you can visit."

And that was what Victor did as well- he took Liam to a dungeon.

______

Liam stood still as the last echoes of Victor’s footsteps faded into the distance.

The dungeon around him was eerily quiet, a stark contrast to the chaotic thoughts racing through his mind. His fingers curled into fists as frustration bubbled within him.

He had known Victor was unpredictable, but this? Locking him in an ancient dungeon without help, without Asger? That was beyond reckless—it was cruel.

And yet... a part of Liam understood Victor’s reasoning.

If he was going to face the demons properly, he needed to be stronger—not just physically, but ntally.

His past life as the Grand Wizard held answers, power, and knowledge that could help him, but his mories were like a shattered mirror, fragnts scattered across his mind.

This dungeon was supposed to help him put them back together.

He exhaled sharply, glancing around. The walls were lined with ancient carvings, runes that pulsed with a faint, otherworldly glow.

The air was thick with the scent of dust and magic, heavy and familiar, as if whispering secrets from an era long gone.

Liam pressed his fingers against the cold stone, tracing one of the symbols absentmindedly. A jolt of energy surged through him, and suddenly—

Pain.

A sharp, piercing headache shot through his skull.

Flashes of images bombarded his mind: a battlefield drenched in blood, monstrous creatures looming over a crumbling city, his own voice chanting incantations in a language he barely understood. He staggered backward, gasping for breath.

So it was working.

Victor wasn’t just throwing him in here for the sake of cruelty—this place was indeed triggering sothing within him.

"Alright. I just have to survive this long enough to rember."

Liam muttered under his breath, steadying himself.

That was easier said than done.

He had no idea what lurked within the depths of this dungeon. He could handle most creatures on instinct, but if there was sothing tied to his past self, sothing even greater waiting for him—he needed to be prepared.

Liam pulled his sword from its sheath and started walking. The corridors stretched endlessly, the dim glow of runes providing just enough light for him to navigate. He moved cautiously, senses sharp.

Then, a noise. A low growl echoed from the shadows ahead.

Liam tensed, his grip tightening around the hilt of his sword as a pair of glowing red eyes erged from the darkness.

A beast, large and grotesque, with scales that shimred unnaturally and a maw lined with jagged teeth. Liam didn’t recognize it, but sothing deep within him did.

"Nightmare Hound."

He whispered, realization striking like lightning.

It was a creature of the old world, a beast that fed on fear and mories. And it was staring straight at him.

The hound lunged.

Liam dodged to the side, barely avoiding the creature’s razor-sharp claws. He retaliated with a swift slash of his sword, but the blade rely scraped against the beast’s tough hide.

"Figures. Of course, it wouldn’t be that easy."

Liam muttered.

The hound circled him, snarling. Its presence sent waves of unease through Liam’s body, making it harder to think clearly. His mories were stirring again, but this ti, they were hazy and chaotic, making it difficult to focus.

The beast lunged again, and this ti, Liam was a second too slow. Claws raked across his arm, tearing through his sleeve and drawing blood.

Pain flared, but Liam gritted his teeth and forced himself to stay upright.

Magic. He needed magic.

His past self wouldn’t rely on a re sword or re magic.

It felt like there was sothing more Liam was supposed to learn.
