The entire living room was filled with laughter and cheer, brimming with a joyous atmosphere. It felt as if all their fatigue and worries had been tossed aside in that single mont.

Feng Mountain’s return was like a shot in the arm for this big family.

The feeling of a grand reunion once again filled everyone’s hearts, leaving them feeling reassured and happy.

In the kitchen, Jenny, Maria, and Demi were bustling about, preparing dinner.

Flas roared to life on the stove, and the stew simring in the pot sent out waves of an enticing aroma. While preparing the ingredients, the three would occasionally peek through the kitchen doorway toward the living room. With smiles on their faces, they soaked in the lively and warm atmosphere.

anwhile, in the living room.

Feng Mountain was sandwiched between Erica and Tammy. On the other sofa, Yves, David, Wawa, and Feng Jun listened with rapt attention as Feng Mountain recounted the events of his trip.

Coca-Cola was not happy. Seeing its usual spot usurped by Erica, the cat was absolutely furious. It let out a few huffy ows in Erica’s direction, as if protesting her occupation and reminding everyone of its presence.

Loki flapped its wings, circled the room once, and then flew straight to the fuming Coca-Cola.

It tilted its head, its small eyes sizing up Coca-Cola. Then, striking what it clearly thought was a suave pose, it ruffled its feathers and spoke.

"Hey there, gorgeous. The na’s Loki. How about we grab a drink soti?"

"OW! OW!"

Hearing this, Coca-Cola beca even more enraged. It yowled angrily at Loki, its tail shooting straight up as its fur began to bristle.

Coca-Cola had a general dislike for all winged creatures, to say nothing of this damned bird chattering nonstop right in front of it. Just looking at it was infuriating.

If it hadn’t slled its master’s scent on Loki, it would’ve swatted the parrot out of the air long ago.

"Brother Feng, you really adopted a dozen tigers?!" Feng Jun’s eyes went wide, his face a mask of disbelief.

As far as he knew, tigers were a strictly protected species. Back ho, any private citizen who dared to keep one would be guaranteed to do so serious ti.

But Brother Feng, on the other hand, had gone and gotten a dozen of them all at once.

"That’s right. And not just this parrot—I’ve got dozens of them, plus a crippled Zuoshan Diao," Feng Mountain said with a calm nod. He was about to add that a shipnt of livestock was also arriving in the next couple of days, but Erica cut him off before he could get the words out.

"Khilla, so this is the dal of honor!" Erica exclaid, holding it up. Her eyes sparkled with excitent and anticipation.

Feng Mountain, however, didn’t seem to care much about the dal. He just waved his hand dismissively, signaling for Erica to take it, since the thing had no particular use for him.

"You like it? Go ahead, play with it."

"Really?" Erica’s face instantly blossod into an even wider grin. Like she’d just received a priceless treasure, she joyfully held the dal up to the light. It cast a faint gleam as it caught the light, and Erica stared at it, srized and unwilling to let go.

But the next mont, before she could get a good look at it, the dal was snatched right out of her hand.

Back at the camp, she was always the one snatching things from others; no one would ever dare snatch from her.

Lika froze for a second, then her eyes flew wide in a glare. Her pretty face instantly clouded over with anger. She whipped her head around, ready to unleash her fury, but when she saw who had taken the dal, all her bluster vanished. Instead, she just sulked and pouted.

"This is Feng’s honor. It’s not a toy for you to play with."

Jenny’s face turned stern. She feigned seriousness as she lightly tapped Erica on the head, her voice tinged with gentle reproach.

Erica still felt it was unfair, but she didn’t dare say anything more. She just lowered her head and mumbled under her breath.

Jenny took the dal of honor and walked over to the fireplace. After carefully surveying the area, she found an exquisite fra. She gingerly placed the dal inside, ticulously adjusted its position, and set it in the most prominent spot on the mantelpiece.

"Dinner’s ready. Your favorite—stewed musk ox and stead buns."

Feng Mountain grinned, stood up, and stretched lazily before heading toward the dining room.

As he passed Erica, he shot a furtive glance at her sulking form.

’Serves her right. There’s a lid for every pot.’

He found it amusing how her usual fiery, fearless personality had instantly deflated the mont Jenny put her in line.

He couldn’t help but find it funny, but he didn’t let it show, simply quickening his pace into the dining room.

...

In the dining room, the fragrant aroma of the al filled the air, whetting everyone’s appetite.

He had just picked up his chopsticks, ready to dig in, when he felt several pairs of eyes fixed on him. Their gazes were filled with anticipation, as if he were so priceless treasure.

Feng Mountain couldn’t help but complain.

"Hey, co on. I wasn’t gone for a year or two, just one week. Is all this really necessary?"

"You eat, we’ll watch. What’s the problem?" Erica, having recovered from her dejection, was back to her usual sharp-tongued self as she replied on behalf of the group.

Feng Mountain shook his head, exasperated. He had to find a way to divert their attention, or he wouldn’t be able to enjoy his al in peace.

An idea suddenly struck him, and his eyes lit up as he spoke.

"Since everyone is here, let’s talk about the tour groups from the past few days. How are our restaurant and bar revenues? What’s the feedback from the tourists? Anything we need to improve on?"
