Life in London is very leisurely, at least for now.

Ring~

The sound of the doorbell.

"Welco." Uesugi Sakura at the Soho café put down her phone and looked up.

Two young girls entered, carrying black cylindrical cases for their paintings and backpacks.

One in a white dress, the other in a light green dress.

A blue shark keychain wobbled on the backpack of the girl in the white dress.

After closing the door, they sat at the counter in front of Uesugi Sakura.

"Uesugi, I want a cup of Blue Mountain."

"Okay, a cup of Blue Mountain," Uesugi Sakura noted down, then turned to ask the girl in the white dress, "What would Hanabi like to drink?"

Hanamaru Hanabi carefully examined the nu in front of her, hesitated for a while, then looked up and said:

"An iced latte, I guess."

Then she ordered a milk mocha.

Although Hanamaru Yuuki is the younger sister, she is actually taller than Hanabi:

"Is it just you in the shop today, Uesugi?"

Uesugi Sakura ground the coffee beans in the grinder, then took out a filter paper and placed it on the cone-shaped transparent cup:

"The owner has gone to buy coffee beans, and Mr. Blaise is off today."

Since there were no outsiders, they communicated in Japanese.

"I rember Mr. Blaise rarely took days off before."

Hanamaru Yuuki recalled the gentleman holding the British Shorthair Blue Cat, "Did Mr. Blaise start slacking off like his cat after you ca here, Uesugi?"

"Perhaps, but the café isn’t busy every day."

Uesugi Sakura poured 94-degree hot water over the ground coffee, "There aren’t many who can take a break to drink coffee during weekdays."

Talking about that chief barista, Hanamaru Hanabi couldn’t stop thinking about the cat in his arms:

"Hanabi thinks Mr. Blaise’s cat is very adorable."

Hanamaru Yuuki agreed wholeheartedly, nodding her head repeatedly: "No doubt, that blue shorthair is so round and fat, and so lazily cute!"

Cats are a creature all girls seem to love.

Compared to cats, Uesugi Sakura prefers dogs.

After chatting about cats, he listened to them casually discussing today’s art techniques and concepts.

He didn’t understand much of it, but quickly had two cups of coffee prepared and placed in front of the two girls.

"Try it and see if there’s an improvent."

The aroma of coffee wafted in, full of flavor.

Hanamaru Yuuki took a sniff, then mimicked an expert and took a small sip from her cup:

"Mmm~~ delicious, but I don’t quite notice a difference."

"Hanabi thinks it’s quite nice..."

Hanamaru Yuuki glanced at the latte art in her sister’s cup, curiously asking, "Hey, why does it seem like there’s more milk foam in yours, Hanabi?"

Uesugi Sakura chid in: "You’re having a Blue Mountain, she ordered a Mocha."

Indeed, the milk taste in Hanamaru Hanabi’s cup was heavier than a typical Mocha.

"What’s wrong with Blue Mountain? You’re discriminating against Blue Mountain! Blue Mountain Coffee needs to have chocolate and milk too!" Hanamaru Yuuki suddenly felt like her coffee lost its flavor.

Over the weeks, Uesugi Sakura learned that Hanabi’s younger sister loved sweets.

But if she liked it sweet, why order a Blue Mountain?

Perhaps she wanted to try sothing different.

Uesugi Sakura answered herself.

"By the way, Uesugi," Hanamaru Yuuki lifted her head adorned with a butterfly hair clip and said, "Hanabi and I recently opened Twitter and Pixiv accounts. You can check out our artwork and follow us."

"Sure," Uesugi Sakura agreed casually, considering it a trivial matter.

"When does your competition start?" His interest lay more here.

Instead of answering, Hanamaru Yuuki asked back, "Are you really going to take Hanabi away?"

Soft music played in the café, and its rustic decor gave it a unique charm.

Uesugi Sakura stood behind the counter, glancing at Hanamaru Hanabi quietly sipping her mocha:

"Yes."

Hanamaru Yuuki was reluctant to see Hanabi leave because having company in a foreign country was crucial.

She looked at him and asked: "You know my sister’s personality. You agreed to let her study here, so why are you suddenly coming to take her back after two weeks?"

"She’s settled and working hard at adapting, yet you co disrupt her future. I find this very irresponsible — I’m just stating my opinion here."

Uesugi Sakura didn’t reply because he knew his actions were not conducive to Hanabi’s future academic growth.

But every ti he lay alone in his bed, holding the shark she liked, he’d recall her still sowhat childish, bright smile.

The mory of being on the small boat during the fireworks festival in Matsuyama City, sitting cuddled and feeding each other, stirred his heart.

Gradually, he wanted to follow her steady and unhurried pace.

He wanted to be by her side, watching her silhouette as she went to school.

Before, she chased after him; now, he was the one chasing her.

"It’s... okay," Hanamaru Hanabi lifted her little face and said, "Hanabi also wants to be with Sakura, going back to Tokyo is fine too."

Hanamaru Yuuki: "But sister, didn’t you tell that drawing is your dream? Your teacher is a well-known modern artist in the academy, it must be beneficial to your dream!"

"..."

Hanamaru Hanabi, like Uesugi Sakura, remained silent, only looking up at him quietly washing the coffee utensils.

She reminisced about that not-so-outstanding, tearful little girl.

— Every ti young Hanamaru Hanabi cried, it drew the dislike of many classmates, but Uesugi Sakura never showed irritation at her tears and kindly narrated the stories from books to her.

Even half the words she knew were taught by him.

Whenever she saw the words she had written, she rembered how he stood behind her, holding her little hand.

Hanamaru Yuuki worriedly looked at her sister, who was lost in thought, and tapped her shoulder: "Sister, are you okay?"

"I’m okay."

Hanamaru Hanabi snapped out of it but kept thinking about him and the gifts he had given her.

She wondered... whether the gifts and paintings she sent him... were kept...

——————————

September 26th, Friday.

Uesugi Sakura was still making coffee in the Soho café, knowing that Hanabi was willing to go back with him.

But it seed there were many things neither of them had thought through.

Before Hanabi’s competition, she might as well stay here for the ti being.

Mr. Blaise seed quite confident in his skills, visiting the café less frequently and often complinting him as talented.

Despite many custors liking him, Uesugi felt his skills were just average.

anwhile, Mr. Blaise, thanks to his presence, apparently had more ti to take leave and rest from Mrs. Anna, the owner.

The bell rang once again.

A young male office worker walked in.

While Uesugi Sakura was pulling out the booklet to take the custor’s coffee order, a loud noise suddenly erupted outside and grew louder over ti.

It was evidently approaching their direction.

"What’s... going on?"

Uesugi Sakura glanced outside but saw nothing, simultaneously asking the custor ordering coffee in English.

"A protest march, happens every year."

The suited English office worker seed unfazed, ordering a cappuccino.
