The netizens on weibo suddenly changed their language and #Why is the grumpy imperial commander so cute? started to trend.
Mingzhe who still had no idea that he was trending was flicking the signed paper with pride and beaming radiantly. "All is forgiven."
i i did not feel the loss at all. She just threw her arms around him, almost sending them both falling with the chair. "Older brother, thank you."
"Don’t make regret it." He said.
"You won’t, I promise." i i laughed, the sound light and heartfelt.
Mingzhe awkwardly patted her back, thinking about the last ti they had hugged. Suddenly, it felt like no ti had passed at all. Despite everything, i i knew how to get under his skin. It did not matter that she used a few tricks to bring down his walls, he loved her anyway and all that mattered was that she was back.
"I am choosing your next husband." he grumbled.
"I volunteer to be it." Kang Shengjie raised his hand.
Rose snorted and chuckled at the sa ti. "Little brother, she has this part covered." She looked at Shengjie and said, "it is not you, my little sister likes gentle puppies, you are not a cute gentle puppy, you are rough rottweiler."
Shengjie flexed his biceps and lifted the hem of his shirt to show off his abs.
"Captain Kang, lower your shirt right now." Mingzhe ordered.
"Yes Sir." Kang Shengjie covered the abs, to the great disappointnt of the won that had just started enjoying them online.
"Brother, I haven’t finished counting them." i i complained.
At ho, many won joined her in saying, " too."
Suddenly they heard the sound of glass breaking and a wincing sound. When they turned their heads in the direction of the sound, they saw Jingzhe. His hand was bleeding and he looked sad.
"A Zhe." i i run to him quickly. She took the hand and started looking around for supplies to tend to the wound. "What happened?" she asked anxiously. "How could you be careless?"
"Sister, I was mixing you so cherry coke and lemonade but the can sliced my hand." He blinked and winced again, then he coughed. His head managed to find a resting position on i i’s chest.
"I brought the first aid box." Kang Shengjie who had vanished returned.
As he cleaned the wound and bandaged it, i i patted Jingzhe’s head and comforted him, reminding Shengjie to be careful and not too rough.
anwhile, Rose and Mingzhe put their heads close together and watched, like the millions of netizens in the live broadcast.
"Huh!" Mingzhe made a small sound from his mouth that had Rose curious.
"What?" she asked.
Mingzhe shook his head, wincing the way he did when his mind had seen sothing off. "The cherry coke and lemonade are both in cans and yet we heard the sound of a wine bottle breaking before he winced."
Rose’s eyebrows raised curiously as she looked at Mingzhe with more interest. "Huh!" she also made a curious sound. "This puppy is quite clever."
*********
In the royal castle, anwhile, a eting was just about to begin. It was a eting of all mbers of the royal family. Those who could not attend in person were using the hologram feature of their phones so it was if they were there in person.
The eting had been called by the Elder statesman, who was the forr grand emperor. He was currently the oldest elder of the ruling family. He and his wife were the ones that had had played the greatest role in uniting the Chi’s and Jun’s with the royal house.
He was currently living on the international space station with the grand duke and so of their families. They had heard about the feud between their families and decided to intervene before things reached a point of no return.
"Is everyone present?" the elder statesman asked.
The doors were flung open before a head count be taken and Princess Rize walked in. She was the last to arrive and she made sure to glare at Junjie and all the other mbers of the family that had stuck their noses in i i’s affairs.
"Sorry for being late, I was gathering evidence that proves Mo Liang and his mistress had a sketchy relationship long before they embarked on the journey to space. Oh, more fantastic news on that front, Tang Yue is being sued...." She waved her hands. "You will see it all on the news tomorrow I am sure because this is the kind of lawsuit people will be interested in."
A chair was pulled for her and she sat down.
"Let’s begin." The elder statesman declared. "We are eting because of the events currently happening in the empire. If I do not intervene, you fools might end the legacy of the royal Long family. Whose bright idea was it to start this feud?"
Most of the people at the table looked at Junjie.
Junjie crossed his arms across his chest, behaving defensively. "I am not alone in this. Before Mo Liang returned to earth I sought the advice of so people at this very table and royal advisors. I even called in so trusted ministers and asked for their opinions.
My actions were not personal, they were a result of a carefully taken physical opinion poll. If you need to na nas of those involved, I will gladly do so."
Junjie gestured at his secretary and she brought over the list. It had one hundred twelve nas, proving how many people he asked sought advice from.
"One hundred twelve people great grandfather." Junjie said the number out loud. "One hundred twelve people!!! Of this number, eighty eight were in agreent that Mo Liang’s affair should not affect national affairs. His shortcomings are no doubt disgusting, appalling and embarrassing but when it cos to duty, he did his job. I made decision basing on the results of that poll. What would you all have done if you were in my shoes?"
Prince Long Feiyan raised his hand and went first. "For starters, I would have included soone from the Chi or Jun family in that poll?"
Prince Long Jingyu added to that. "I was not part of that poll and if I had been involved I would have advised you not to even do the poll in the first place. Loyalty of the noble and wealthy houses is very important to the royal house. No matter how good a job Mo Liang did on the mission, he is a commoner.
His entire family added together is not even as wealthy as the closest employees of Lady Chi Lian in the phoenix group.
Not to forget the fact that our aunt is married to minister Chi Rui, i i’s uncle. He is a royal son-in-law, he is family. We don’t take polls when it cos to family, we just support them as long as they are in the right. You screwed up on this one your royal highness."
