It was after the engagent and i i and Jingzhe were walking through a food street instead of heading ho. She was still dressed in her expensive gown but her shoes had been changed from heels to sneakers. Jingzhe’s red coat was draped over her shoulders and his right hand was holding her left one firmly.

The air was cool and over saturated with the slls of different foods from boiled to deep fried. Every stall was busy and most of the people had smiles on their faces as they tasted a bit of this and that.

i i wanted just one thing: Baked sweet potatoes.

Jingzhe had already bought them for her and he was still blowing on it slowly because he was afraid it was too hot for her.

"Hurry..." She shook his hand, desperate to get the yummy soft potato in her mouth. She fastened her unwavering gaze on his hand, wishing to grab it and take a bite.

Jingzhe moved his mouth as if to blow again and he took a bite.

"You...." i i gasped.

He placed it in her hands quickly. "Don’t throw a tantrum I was just making sure that it is warm."

She glared at him, clutching the potato carefully. "What do you know? The sweetness of street roasted and baked potatoes is in the heat. As you take small bites, you blow on it and toss it from one hand to another."

"I am quite sure that the sweetness and pleasure of eating such potatoes multiplies in the winter." He put both hands behind his back, raising his head proudly. "During the bitter cold weather, a roasted potato is like dicine that seals an open wound. Its warmth is satisfactory, dancing on the tips of the soul and every bite is like an embrace of....."

"Relax professor, it is just a potato." i i cut him off and took a bite.

The skin was crispy, the inside was soft and buttery.

"It is the food that kept our ancestors company in the snowy winters where food was scarce. Potatoes remind us of our roots, they teach gratitude. Once upon a ti, they were called yellow gold." Jingzhe continued.

The roasted potato vendor whose stall they stood in front of had no idea what Jingzhe was talking about. He had never had of potatoes being called yellow gold. If these people had real gold to offer him for the field of potatoes his family fard, he would give them his harvest with a smile.

He packed up the rest of their order which was about thirty roasted potatoes and handed it to one of the bodyguards accompanying the couple.

He wondered if they were throwing a potato party at ho. Why else would soone buy thirty baked potatoes and thirty roasted ones?

The questions on his mind did not matter as much getting paid. He received the money with a smile and hoped they returned tomorrow.

"Remind about why we need so many sweet potatoes?" Jingzhe asked her as they started walking away from the stall.

"Because we have big family and half of them are at our house right now, drinking wine and emptying my fridge." She answered.

Jingzhe felt thrilled to hear what she said. She did not say "my family" but "our family" which ant he was considered one of them in her eyes. Not just him but his mother too. They were part of the Jun/Chi clan. "We should get so other things. What else do you think everyone will want to eat from the stalls?"

"Just...." she started, raising her eyes and turning his head her way. But she stopped because he had already vanished.

Jingzhe was already standing at the stall which sold grilled skewers.

She signed and joined him. In ten minutes they acquired hamburgers, candied hawthorn skewers, stead buns, bubble tea, sour plum drinks and papaya milk.

They had six bodyguards altogether and all of them were carrying bags of food and drink which they considered a hindrance to their jobs.

Jingzhe was about to head to another stall when i i stopped him by holding on to his arm. "A Zhe, do you want to carry the entire market ho with us? I think we have enough food."

"General Big Yellow and Black Guard can eat all of this on their own." he answered.

"Which is why ihua gave us all the food that was left over from her engagent." She reminded him. A car had already driven that food ho.

Mingzhu had already sent her a picture of the pets feasting.

They embarked on a walk back to to their cars, rushing to get ho. The market was becoming more crowded. Jingzhe did not let go of her hand even once, not until they were safe inside the cars.

He let go of her hand and rested his head on her lap, letting out a small yawn.

"Sister, between and Siping, who is more adorable?"

The question was sudden and it ca out of the blue. i i lowered her eyes to his and frowned. "Where is this question coming from?"

"You said three tis, that he was adorable and once that he was cute." He answered with a slight pout on his lips.

i i rolled her eyes. "I said it for ihua’s sake, not because I am attracted to Siping." She pinched his nose. "You....you are such a jealous baby."

"Because I like you too much." He took her hand away from her nose. "Your hand slls like sweet potatoes, olive oil and sea salt."

"Because I just ate a sweet potato." She replied, reaching into her bag for so wipes to clean her hands. "What is the big deal with recycling by the way? ihua ntioned it in her speech."

He shook his head slowly. "No clue. I do it but that is because recycling bins are everywhere. I do not find it special. We should be talking about ihua’s success in holding an engagent party that lacked pets or children. I still have no idea how she pulled it off?"

i i stretched her neck a little, surprised that he did not know this. Hadn’t Siping said anything to him? "Didn’t you get the anded invite in your email?"

"I think assistant Xu looked at it and he said there was no changes affecting ." He bit one of the pearls on her dress playfully.

His right hand slithered around her waist to undo the ribbon at the back. She rolled her eyes, paying no attention to his actions. "The new invite said, "Children are loved but best left at ho or the kids playground in the hotel." i i laughed. "I must comnd her for sticking to her principals and desires. It was a perfect celebration with only one glass ending up on the floor."

"Gossip about that." Jingzhe mimicked ihua’s voice and snapped his fingers like a diva.

They both burst into laughter.
