So of the ladies laughed. i i hid her face behind a pillow.

"Nobody should say another word." She said and pouted. "I definitely don’t want anyone saying sothing like this is why the ilin list was created. I did not an what about foolish blind love like the one I thought I was in when I run off. I ant....." She stopped her tirade and sighed. "You know what, I won’t ask anymore questions. Just point to the bridal shop and let’s begin trying on those maid of honor dresses."

The butler walked to the entrance and cleared his throat and announced. "Miss Kang Zhenzhen is here."

Zhilan stood up and i i pulled her down.

"Isn’t she the next Empress?" Zhilan whispered.

i i shrugged. "Maybe or maybe not. Either way, she is not one yet so we don’t need to stand and curtsy. Just treat her like any other person for now."

Despite i i saying this, a lot of the ladies smiled a little more tensely than before. Madam Feng curtsied to Zhenzhen and she rushed away to the kitchen to bring her sothing to eat. Being in the good graces of a future Empress was not a bad place to find oneself.

"Zhenzhen..." i i called the young woman with a welcoming smile on her face. "I was not expecting to see you hear."

Zhenzhen smiled back at i i while looking at Zhilan and Jun Yi. The unvoiced ssage in her eyes was more than clear, she was expecting one of the two won to move so that she could sit next to i i.

Zhilan weighed her options. She was not the next Empress and she was not a Jun. Obviously, she was the one that needed to move, so she did.

Rose made room for her while Zhenzhen sat down. "Thank you so much Miss Chen."

Zhilan wanted to snort. In her mind, she was thinking, "you are not yet an Empress but you are already rushing to claim your own Jun. Do you think they live to exist as supporting characters for royals?"

She did not say so but she just smiled back at Zhenzhen, "Anything you need your....Miss Kang."

Nobody missed that unfinished "Your....." they all knew she was about to finish it with "Highness."

With Zhenzhen’s presence, the ladies maintained so silence for a while and they kept sending gestures to i i, urging her to say sothing. All of them had grown up being cautioned to watch what they said around royalty or future loyalty.

One wrong thing might put one on a hit list they did not even know existed.

"It is such a lovely day." ihua said.

"Ha!" Rose laughed. "It sucks. When was the last ti that it rained in the sumr? I think this was artificially manufactured rain which the monks concocted to make the Empress’s funeral auspicious like the bright light on her fake body."

"Ha-haaa...." Jun Yi squeezed her eyes as she squealed. "That is funny because she did get a lot of plastic surgeries so her real body was fake as well."

Madam Feng entered the living room, clearing her throat. Her eyes shot a warning Jun Yi’s way. "Say less my child," they said. "Anymore and I will sew your lips shut." They added.

Jun Yi pouted.

i i covered her mouth and giggled. Rose shook her head. Jun Yi was the bright but she could also be the most insensible Jun. Sotis it was adorable and sotis it called for a smack on the back of her head.

Zhenzhen was not a fool. She could sense that her arrival had ruined the loud friendly atmosphere so she decided to break the ice. She needed these won to like her, that was why her aunt had sent her over after seeing a picture on Zhilan’s weibo showing off their little gathering and cheesecakes.

"Hello everyone, I am Zhenzhen, I hope that I am not intruding on your get together." She said in a sugary voice.

She was younger than them and she had that cute kind of aura. It was hard for the won not to find her likeable.

"Oh no, you did not intrude. We were just discussing my upcoming wedding." ihua replied.

"Oh yes!" Zhenzhen’s eyes lit up. "I heard that you are to marry Duan Siping. We went to the sa high school, he was always at the top of his class when it ca to grades. He is also a great basketball player and excellent swimr. A lot of girls liked him."

ihua smiled. "It sounds like he was popular."

"I wonder if he ntioned that in his thesis." Zhilan choked back laughter.

i i and the others laughed. Only Zhenzhen frowned because she was lost. What did a thesis have to do with the facts she had just shared?

"Was he a player relationship wise?" Rose asked Zhenzhen.

"Ladies....." ihua started.

"Shhh." i i hushed her. "As your friends, we have to do this research for you so that you don’t end up being cheated. Speaking from personal experience, I urge you to learn whatever you can about that man before taking the leap."

"He was not into girls." Zhenzhen leaned forward and pitched in before soone else could beat her to the punch.

"And boys?" Taiyuan asked.

Everyone turned their heads in her direction. She asked that question a little too quickly.

Taiyuan was about to help herself to the sponge cheesecake Madam Feng had just brought when she saw their eyes and shrugged. "What? Are we going to sit here and pretend that it does not happen? Aside from the beautiful daosi of the Su family, there are no other openly gay noble n. And yet, Chong Hengzhi who married An Manli was caught in bed with another man by the peepstar on the couple’s honeymoon. Have you forgotten the scandal?"

They all shook their heads. The Jun won present especially because the An family was their mother’s maternal family.

i i did not know what had happened in the family at the ti of the scandal but Rose and Yi Yi did. The couple had divorced imdiately but the man had signed the papers with a bloody nose, broken ribs and he was using crutches to walk.

The Chong family did not do business with the An, Chi and Jun families anymore. This was because they knew Chong Hengzhi was gay and yet hid it and committed marriage fraud. Of course they denied having any knowledge of this.

But the damage was done none the less and the Chong’s compensated the An’s for all the expenses they spent on the wedding.

"So, which is it? What rumors did you hear?" Taiyuan asked Zhenzhen.
