The waltz was just about to begin when Jun Jie whispered to i i, "It is done."
"What?" she asked.
"Your riot. It has also been confird that a certain soone will not be actively attempting to kill you anymore. As for the contract he put out on you, we don’t know yet if soone else is already trying to fulfill it so you should be careful for a while." He tapped her on the head and walked away.
i i was left hissing. She appreciated the great news but not the head pat. The kid was younger than her but her loved to act like he was older than her just because of his height advantage.
What was so great about being giraffe sized?
As she scoffed, he turned back deliberately and smirked. He whispered to Jun Lie and he also smirked. Both of them made gestures in the air showing her the difference in their height and they tapped their hands together.
She gasped and put her hands on her waist. Brothers were really annoying, the older one and the younger ones too!!!!!
Jingzhe found her huffing and he begged for her hand. "My lady, may I have this dance and a chance to put a smile on your face?"
She surrendered her hand and turned her huff into a coy smile. "But of course. How can I say no to you?"
They joined other dancers on the dance floor of the private ballroom where only nobles were allowed. She had not waltzed in a while but her dancing skills were still there.
"I have never co to one of these things before." He said softly and they moved from left to right slowly, swaying like leaves on the branch of a tree in a gentle wind. "I am invited every year...." He stopped himself. He had co so close to giving away his identity as the CEO of Blue Galactic.
Every year, all the wealthy CEO’s of companies in the empire got invitations. Naturally, Jingzhe was included but the na on the invitation was not his. It was of his other identity that he used when registering the company.
i i assud that this was related to Huaqi cake factory. The company was powerful enough to garner the interest of the royal family. They were worthy of being invited. "Why haven’t you ever co then?"
"I lacked the desire." He admitted and looked over his shoulders slightly. "And frankly, this event has beco a little too ridiculously competitive over the years. Look at my head i i, I am wearing a crown that looks like cheese.
She giggled. The idea had been hers, generated from the dream she had. The crown on Jingzhe’s head was light yellow gold with little holes and so green mouse shaped gems.
"It is embarrassing." He groaned.
"This day is all about embarrassnt and wondering why the special treasures on display are not hung on the walls of our houses for vanity purposes. It is also a day for matchmaking. Look around."
Jingzhe spun her around twice and he started to look around once she was back in his arms. He noticed that most of the couples on the dance floor were from the younger generation. Older individuals were standing or sitting on the side lines.
So mothers, aunts, and grandmothers that looked like they were conspiring had their heads hurdled together. They were smiling as they watched the younger couples that had set up.
Even the Emperor had not escaped the matchmaking net, a thing that everyone was very keen on keeping up with.
Hopeful families were introduced their daughters to him, one after the other. Other won were voluntarily approaching him. He offered them all a smile and so kind words before sending them on their way.
"Even aunt Rize is introducing soone." i i laughed.
It seed as if they were back to the days before Junjie married. Everywhere he went, won had thrown themselves at him.
"Quickly, let’s change a spot and eavesdrop." She pulled on Jingzhe’s hand because she did not want to miss a single thing.
When Princess Rize reached the emperor, she forced him to stand and made him take the hand of a blushing young woman. Her matchmaking tactics were open and aggressive, everyone else be damned!
"Junjie, this is Kang Zhenzhen, from the Kang family. She is the youngest daughter of professor Kang Yuze, you know who he is. Why don’t you show her your waltzing skills?
You have been sitting ever since the dance floor was opened. I am worried that you might end getting hemorrhoids again."
She was loud but not too loud. Still, those whose ears caught her words laughed.
Junjie was mortified and to keep his aunt from saying anymore ridiculous things, he strode off rapidly and led Zhenzhen to the dance floor.
"I apologize for my aunt’s thod of doing things, she is a force of nature when she wants to get sothing done." Junjie said to Zhenzhen.
Even though they were waltzing, he kept a respectable distance from her and only held her hands lightly. With press rotating all around, it would be easy to capture a picture of them and distort the facts.
Zhenzhen, whose face was mildly red shook her head. She also discovered that she was tongue tied in the presence of the man she actually had a crush on.
"I am your fan." She blurted out.
Junjie smiled at her politely. He was the emperor so he had many fans all around the empire. What she said to him was not such a ground breaking discovery.
"I saw you deejay at a festival in Winchester twelve years ago. You were wearing a big cat costu on your head. I only ca to know that it was you when I went backstage, hoping to get an autograph." She added.
Now this was a ground breaking discovery!!
It brought a smile to Junjie’s lips. Inside, her was feeling a mixture of joy and embarrassnt. As a deejay, it was the first ti he was eting a fan for real. His identity as DJ cat was a secret that only i i knew.
"I am sorry," Zhenzhen looked down and winced. "I did not an to embarrass you or use it to blackmail you."
Junjie’s eyebrows found a new ho on top of his head. "Oh, you thought about blackmailing !"
Zhenzhen’s eyes widened. "No, no..no. Oh my gosh!" She closed her eyes and a regretful squeal escaped her mouth. "I am so sorry your highness, I seem to be putting my foot in my mouth. Please don’t execute ."
