The good princess Chi Lian was not the only eager eyed person in the crowd with glittering eyes and itchy fingers. The collectors with heavy pockets were regretting so much why the treasures had not been put up for sale.
Now, they would go into the royal vault to collect dust forever. If not, they would be put on display in museums for educational purposes. To them, this was a waste.
The fan would serve a better purpose in the hands of one the many noble ladies, used as a sign of their prestige and to fend of the heat.
Prince Long Bo’s phone that was set on vibration was tickling him from deep inside the pockets of his royal uniform. He did not need to guess what all the excitent was about.
Another part of the stage rose, bringing another treasure on display. This one was large, as big as two oval tables that could fit twenty four people. It was a colossal tortoise shell with unfamiliar carvings. It’s gigantic size made people stand, gasp or scream.
A child broke out in tears.
Emperor Junjie smiled, "We had no idea what to call this gigantic tortoise shell so it has been nad the celestial colossal shell. From what we know about it, the shell was buried in a temple and used for mythical rituals.
According to the research done so far, the spirit of a dragon king slumbered beneath it, giving advice to the monks in riddles. The monks would pass on the riddles to n and the worthy would decode them.
An alternate suggestion is that this is the shell of the Black tortoise, a divine protector of the empire going back to dynasties unknown.
So suggestions say that these markings could move, once upon a ti, predicting fortune, fa, floods and famine."
Chi Lian leaned towards her husband.
"Let guess, you want it." he said.
She tilted her head to the left and then the right. "Eh! just to take a closer look and study it. As for the markings, T4 can figure them out easily.
"I am surprised that you did not discover this treasure." He whispered to her.
Then again, she had mostly quit treasure hunting after i i left ho. One of the things mother and daughter would do together was unearth treasures together after she discovered them and i i would pick out what she wanted. Only then would the rest be passed to the royal family.
She thought he was talking about discovering it with one of her caras. "The empire is big, my caras cannot be everywhere at the sa ti. I did hear whispers of a great discovery but I had no energy to poke around. Now that I know about my eleven eggs, I think I know why I have been too lazy to go treasure hunting. It’s because I have been waiting for sothing worthy."
"They are not your eggs." He rolled his eyes.
"Then why do they have my na written all over them." She quizzed him.
He shook his head. Arguing with the woman that had stolen the royal dragon egg and proclaid it as hers was useless.
anwhile, Jingzhe was scribbling the markings on the shell in an notepad. He would look into it and see for himself what they ant. The fan had not caught his eye but this shell....he was interested in it. It was scientific evidence that beasts of colossal size once existed.
Who was to say that they did not exist anymore?
There was a project on Sword island to bring back to life so creatures of legend by mixing various DNA’s. Jingzhe shook his head. He would not think about that cursed island.
The last relic was unveiled. It was always three relics, no matter how many were available. Many said that this was done to preserve ti. Nobles knew that it was done so that the royal family could unveil sothing new every year.
When a new generation ca, they could restart by unveiling things they had never seen.
"The bloodline of the vanished daughters." Emperor Junjie announced.
This relic was a short tree of unknown species, still vibrantly green despite having been buried for many centuries. The tree had only six leaves.
"In 1045, six imperial daughters vanished into the night to escape political marriage. Others say that they were taken by an immortal. Others claim that the emperor offended the gods and his daughters were erased from existence.
The truth about what happened to the six imperial daughters is unknown. I think there was a docuntary on television covering this very story three years ago. After the disappearance of his daughters into the night, the emperor spent six days and nights at a temple.
He watered this tree with his own blood until six leaves appeared. Each leaf represented one of his daughters. As long as they were green, it ant his daughters were alive.
If a leaf turned brown, it ant she was sick. When a leaf fell, it ant she was dead."
Everyone looked at the tree, all the leaves were green. So, what did this an?
"That’s it for this year. On behalf of the royal family I would love to thank you all for joining us. These relics will remain on display here for you all to take a look at"
Minister Shi slipped up right after the emperor. "The banquet hall is open as is the royal garden and ballroom. You can proceed to any of theses places for refreshnts and lunch.
There is also a photo booth and movies for viewing in the royal theater. Two hundred ushers are available to help you with almost anything that you may need.
Rose had already turned to i i. "I guess now I know why Junjie has been was not very worried about this day. He got lucky just in ti and the original treasures which were ant to be displayed were changed."
i i whispered, "I heard that half of the treasures in the royal vault are missing or were replaced by fakes."
Rose nodded. "It is true. That kid Junjie, he always has more luck than a blind man in a shooting gallery."
"No." i i shook her head, "He is like a maggot in bacon. He is living a life of luxury and luck."
Jingzhe found them whispering and he took a seat next to them where Jun Lie had been sitting. Even though the Empress Mother had given him privileges of the nobles, he had not been able to sit up on the first rows with them.
"A Zhe, are you hungry?" She asked him.
He nodded.
"In that case, let’s go and get you fed." She took his hand, planning to join the rest of the first class nobles and their families in the royal dining room.
A cara captured them leaving and it showed them on every screen and hologram. Mo Liang watched it while clenching his fists.
Where was the recognition for the team of experts that went to space? Hadn’t they achieved sothing that made history?
Why was that bastard Jingzhe holding his wife’s hand and walking along the red carpet which was ant for only nobles?
