i i needed to talk to soone about her conversation with Jingzhe. She needed to know if she had overreacted.
She turned to Rose and opened up. "The empress offered him a job."
Rose’s blew air out of her mouth. The look on her face was amazent and curiosity. "Congratulations to him. He has officially entered the big leagues. His future will be bright from there."
i i stood up, "Thank you, thank you, thank you for understanding . This is exactly what I tried to explain to him..."
"Hold off the excitent for a mont." Rose raised her hand. "First tell what kind of job it is. We could be going through premature excitent only to find out later on that is Long Shuang’s tutor or her shoe shiner."
i i sat down. "It is an advisory position. She asked him for so advice on matters relating to the empress. I cannot say as....."
"Say no more." Rose jumped in and stopped her. She had already heard about it from their aunt Princess Rize. "So, he will be advising on special matters. It is not a bad job to have as long as he knows how to keep his mouth shut."
i i sighed. "A Zhe is younger than . I will admit that sotis our age difference worries . He is at the age when young n explore this and that in almost every aspect of their lives.
A great age when you see all these possibilities ahead of you and think that you have all the ti in the world to make the right decisions." She stood up again because siting was making her restless.
"Look at Rose, when I was twenty four, I still thought life would be rosy in future. I was sure that by the ti I got to twenty nine, where I am today, Mo Liang and I would be successful and happy.
We would have a big family and own one of the largest companies in the empire and we would be co-pilots of a spaceship, leading humans to curve a path in space."
Her towel fell down and she quickly picked it up, wrapping it around her body even tighter than before. "In reality, at twenty four, I had just delivered a baby. My husband was uncaring, I had been pushed out of the company I co-founded. I was working as a food delivery woman and part ti at a flower shop.
Mingzhu and I were in and out of hospitals all the ti. My mother-in-law was verbally abusive, I was losing my hair and almost totally broke. My life was miserable and all I had was an empty dream of a future that never ca to fruition."
"How is this related to your puppy?" Rose asked her.
i i took a deep breath, expelled a lot of air and say down. "He was offered the opportunity to beco a noble."
"What?" Rose scread.
i i nodded. "The empress mother promised to talk the emperor into making him one as long as he worked as her advisor. His life will be set, doors to success will open for him. It is the opportunity of a life ti and he turned it down."
"Woah!" Rose drew her head back. "Puppy turned down the chance to be a noble!" She exclaid.
i i raised her hands, totally exasperated. "You are just as shocked as I am, right?"
"Oh yes." Rose nodded. "Did he tell you why?"
She repeated what Jingzhe had said to her, word by word and then she waited for Rose to confirm if she had been right or he was.
Rose crossed one of her legs over the other and said slowly, "Well, here are the pros. He is not greedy for easy wealth or power. If this chance had been given to Mo Liang, he would have jumped at it imdiately. This shows that he is not with you for connections or to elevate his class.
It also shows that he is hardworking and willing to make it on his own. Let’s be honest, he has money. With money, he can buy influence among politicians. We have many wealthy influential people in the empire that are not nobles and yet we accord them the sa respect which is given to us nobles.
He doesn’t need to be a noble to be successful i i. You are wrong about that."
"Do the cons too." i i crossed her arms on her chest.
Rose put her hands together and continued in the sa slow voice she had used before, "Class differences do not matter when you are at ho with your family. But, there are tis when they will co up. Especially with you being a Jun and part of the royal inner circle.
If you are with him and he is not one of us, there are secrets that you will have to keep from him. Ti will co when you will tell Mingzhu not to share those secrets with him as well.
It may seem small but secrets grow and as they grow, they cause rifts that are difficult to be healed. Take your own example. Mom’s secrets drove the two you apart so much so that you spent years without talking and willfully married the wrong man.
Another con is that there will be occasions where you will have to leave him ho. When danger strikes and nobles are being saved, you will be top priority over him and you may be forced to leave him behind. I hate to say this but if you marry him, your children will also be affected unless they take the Jun surna."
She moved closer to i i and put her arms around her shoulders, "I am no relationship guru i i. All I can say is that you should think carefully. et other couples that are like you and see how they make it work. If he doesn’t want to be a noble, don’t force it.
If you force him and he hates it, he could co to resent you in the end which will not be good for your relationship.
And if he works for the empress mother and ends up hurt, you will bla yourself.
I don’t think puppy would force you to make a choice that you don’t want so don’t corner him and force him to make a choice he does not want just because he loves you. Love is not a weapon i i. Rember that Mo Liang did that to you. He used your love as a weapon against you and in the end, you are divorced.
Besides, you don’t know your future with Jingzhe. Before you marry that puppy, I do not trust him as one of us. What if you make a wedding dress for another bride? Think about it.
What if you push him to beco a noble, he grows to resent you and in the end he marries another and she becos a noble lady just like that. How will it benefit you?"
