Leaving Mingzhu with her many adoring relatives, i i left for work. She stopped by a hospital first and saw a child psychologist that would be treating Mingzhu. Then she finally went to the camp where she found a surprising guest, Mo Jiu.
Her presence had stirred up excitent among the guests at the camp, young and old alike. Mo Jiu was Mo Liang’s cousin, the daughter of his aunt. She was one of the people that had benefited the most from i i’s connections.
Phoenix Ent had not signed her but they had supported her with so resources when she was coming up in the industry. She was now an A list singer but it was not where she wanted to be, Mo Jiu wanted to be more.
She wanted to own stages, break records and have terminals at airports closed when she walked in. She wanted her face on international billboards, magazine shoots on the moon, children nad after her and all the fa that would make people fall at her feet and worship her.
From the mont she joined the entertainnt business at the age of sixteen, she had been ruthless. She always fought for center stage if she was performing with others. She would snatch microphones from the trembling hands of other hopeful teenagers.
She had an attitude so big and the backing to match it. People were afraid to say no to her or make her wait in line. It helped that she was naturally talented, blessed with a voice that could break the ceiling and silence the crowd. Her signature high note was called celestial, divine, angelic.
Mo Jiu would be an international superstar, a lot of people agreed on this. But her ego!! Her ego was too big to be contained and it was the thing that was holding her back.
Mo Jiu had been out of the country when Mo Liang returned, touring through Europe. She had kept up with the news back at ho of course but not allowed it to affect her career. She had landed in the country the day before and she had co to find i i.
i i had not seen Mo Jiu for a year and not spoken to her for four years. Ever since she made it big, she had made it clear that the Jun ilin that had lost her crown of wealth and title of a rich heiress was unworthy to be in her presence.
So, when i i saw Mo Jiu, she walked past her as if the other woman was an invisible ghost.
None the less, Mo Jiu followed i i to her office, giving herself a seat before i i could invite her to sit down. She walked as if she was strutting on the run way or a red carpet. Sunglasses were perched on her forehead and her long designer coat was sweeping the floor. She threw it backwards dramatically before taking a seat.
Wu Qing, that followed them inside could sll trouble even before words were exchanged.
"You...out." Mo Jiu ordered Wu Qing. Her tone was arrogant and demanding.
Everywhere Mo Jiu went, she traveled with four bodyguards, two assistants and one manager. They also entered the office and the bodyguards gave Wu Qing threatening looks. The ssage conveyed in their eyes was clear, if you don’t get out on your own we will carry you out.’
Wu Qing frowned and she looked at i i.
"It is okay Wu Qing, you can go. These toothless bears don’t scare ."
Wu Qing left and Mo Jiu sent her people out as well.
"What do you want?" i i asked her coldly.
Mo Jiu put on her best friendly smile. "Cousin-in-law..." she started.
"I divorced your cousin." i i inford her with a straight face.
A flash of anger crossed Mo Jiu’s perfectly made up face but it disappeared very quickly and the smile returned. "I heard the news. Should I be sad for you or happy for you?"
"Whatever I am is none of your business." i i responded. "After all, a big superstar like you has no business talking to a small fry like . A has been that lost her wealth and nobility."
i i used the exact words that Mo Jiu had said to her. She had a feeling that she was wasting her ti, Mo Jiu did not even bother to rember things like this. She was the kind of woman that ruined your life and never rembered your na after a week.
She was right, Mo Jiu did not react. Mo Jiu just touched the small gift bag in the chair she was sitting in and dangled it, smiling. "I brought my sweet niece Mongzhu a gift..."
"Her na is Mingzhu." i i jumped in, correcting Mo Jiu.
But again, she knew it was useless. Mo Jiu did not rember useless nas, only those of people that she could benefit from. Unless she found a way to use Mingzhu, she would continue mispronouncing the na. It was even possible that she had asked one of her assistants for Mingzhu’s na before entering the office.
"It is jello fruit snacks and crackers from Monaco." Mo Jiu shared with pride.
She made it sound as if she had brought boxes of them rather than a half eaten packet of jello fruit snacks and one small packet of crackers that one of her assistants had taken from the plane. She had been planning to give it to her child but Mo Jiu saw it when they were on the way to the camp and she just took it.
"What do you want Jiu?" i i asked her, already tired from the visit.
Mo Jiu crossed one of her legs over the other and she got her phone out. As she responded to texts and checked her na on social dia, she said, "I need you to reconsider this divorce." She declared. "I tried to withdraw the application for you but it turns out you have to go in person and it for yourself. Anyway, go and undo the damage that you have done."
